08.01.2022 There have been some emergent changes communicated by the Queensland Government as at 8:00am Saturday, 22 August 2020 with some resultant measures implemented i...n the following areas: - Brisbane - Ipswich - Logan - Scenic rim - Lockyer Valley - Moreton Bay - Redlands Swimming Queensland are aware of these changes and the relevant directives. We will continue to monitor the situation, however as at today there are no directives that affect the upcoming meets or development activities proceeding in accordance with the Swimming Pool & Aquatic Centre Industry COVID Safe Plan. From 8:00am, 22 August, any business or organisation, including community sporting activities and events, operating in accordance with their relevant Industry COVID Safe Plan, are safe to proceed, ensuring the plan is enacted. This means all attendees playing their part in adhering to the physical distancing, hygiene and contact tracing measures in place. For social gatherings either within homes or public spaces, these are restricted to a maximum group size of 10 people. Outside of this, where possible, members of the general public should limit outings and have a quiet weekend at home. If you are experiencing any COVID or flu-like symptoms at all, it is important you get tested immediately. Once again, a great reminder of the shared responsibility we have in keeping ourselves, our loved ones and the greater community safe in following all measures in place and in particular physical distancing and personal hygiene.

01.01.2022 CALLING ALL PARENTS & SPECTATORS Just like all parents and guardians, we really wish that all swimming meets were able to be run the way we’ve always known them... to. However, this ‘new normal’ (under COVID-19 restrictions) does result in having to hold all meets as ‘closed events’, following physical distancing measures, venue capacities and contact tracing guidelines for the foreseeable future. Based upon each venue, physical distancing requirements will mean that you will be assigned a defined spectator area which may not always be exactly where you’d like to sit to catch the action in the pool. Despite these obstacles, we are grateful of being able to resume swimming meets under these ‘new normal’ circumstances and give Queensland swimmers the opportunity to once again compete and enjoy racing! We sincerely thank you for your support and understanding during this challenging time and hope that you join us in our excitement for the upcoming meets scheduled.

01.01.2022 With 2020 State Teams Championships cancelled, and now the Qld v NSW Duel meet, Swimming Queensland have designed a meaningful team-based competition for our at...hletes. SQ will be selecting Two Qld Teams for a State Duel Meet, 24 swimmers in each team, 6 swimmers per age band and up to 5 coaches per team, this will now allow for a greater number of athletes and coaches to be selected and compete. The Team will come together for this campaign following 2020 McDonald's Queensland Short Course Championships on 28 September. This short course meet will be held on the Gold Coast from the 28 to 30 September, including a pre meet training day, and will be a 3 session competition. It is important to note that McDonald's Queensland Short Course Championships is not a selection event and that selected athletes will be notified directly by Thursday, 17 September 2020. For more information please visit https://qld.swimming.org.au/athlete-develo/our-squads-teams

01.01.2022 Swim Club Nights are currently under review by the GSA Committee so they can offer you the best possible scenario whilst maintaining compliance with the Swimming Qld Club Activity Guidelines and also support the Swimming Pool & Aquatic Centre Industry COVID Safe Plan (Stage 3 amendment). Updates and details will be released early in Term 4.
