25.01.2022 IMPORTANT UPDATE
24.01.2022 Hi All, I must admit I am very surprised that people are worried about next year’s National with what is happening globally and in Australia at the moment. The GSDCA asked the GSDL to secure a date either late April or sometime in May but not Easter weekend for the 2021 National. We have been advised that this was not possible and the date allotted to the GSDL by Dogs NSW was April and Easter weekend 2021.... Due to the current situation around the world we have no choice but to accept these dates even though we prefer a later date. I hope everyone understands the unique situation we find yourselves in. But please understand we have no choice. As I’m away in a very remote place we have very limited wifi and no phone reception, please worry about you and your families health let’s worry about our dog shows later. Be safe stay safe Regards Sean
23.01.2022 On behalf of the GSDCA and all the members we would like to wish you a safe and merry Christmas, we all look forward to a prosperous 2021.
22.01.2022 Official notification of the cancellation of the 2020 BSZS
21.01.2022 To all our members and owners of our beautiful breed I wish you and your families a safe and happy Easter. It’s great to see everyone abiding by the Government rules and staying at home, this way is the only way our country can get back to our normal way of life. We all look forward to the time when we can get together again as a club and enjoy everything that we love. In the meantime enjoy yourself and stay well. Happy Easter #stayhome #staysafe #iso
20.01.2022 48th National It is with sadness that the 48th National has been postponed until May 2022. I would like to thank the GSDL and the Executive of council for taking the hard line that has given clarity for 2021. After the GSDCA received emails from the GSDL on the 13th August and the 27th September with concerns about the potential loss of monies, the GSDCA confirmed in writing to the GSDL on the morning of the 29th September of the decision to postpone, this was shortly foll...owed by a post on Facebook announcing the decision to the members. This was a very hard decision and of course very disappointing to everyone but as you would expect the logistics of such a major event and the cost involved a call had to be made. I look forward to the local shows that will be held in 2021 and I wish all the clubs success and look forward to the 48th National at Sydney in 2022. See more
20.01.2022 The Shepherd world woke to the very sad news today of the death of Hans-Peter Rieker. SV judge and very well known and respected breeder. Australia sends condolences to his family at this very sad time.
16.01.2022 I hope everyone is staying safe and well... As you are all probably aware by now the Sydney National has had a date change to 14th-15th-16th May 2021, we are still waiting on confirmation in writing from Dogs NSW which should arrive soon. Your clubs have also been notified this week of the cancellation of this year’s NBC meeting.... The welfare of our members always comes first and this decision was not made lightly. We all pray for a quick return to normal, so stay safe and stay home. Sean Lynch GSDCA President
13.01.2022 Corona Virus Disease 48th National Update. With only a few months to the 48th National to be held in Sydney a few concerns have been raised regarding if the judges will travel, at this time everything is looking ok with no real concerns. Both judges will be travelling to Sydney as contracted, both Germany and Australia are well situated and have controlled measures in place to reduce the effect of this virus. Neither country are in the High Risk category and therefore has ...no restriction of travel. In the unlikely event that one or both judges are unable to travel to Sydney due to the Corona Virus Disease I can assure you that the Executive are putting a plan together and this will be notified to all members at the appropriate time. Lets all get behind the 48th National in Sydney as it will be a very special event.
12.01.2022 GSDCA AGM was held on Saturday 6th February and for the first time it was a Zoom meeting , pleased to report everything went well, I thank all the club Presidents and the Executive Committee members for the way they all approached this meeting , congratulations to you all. Your clubs will be receiving 60 days motions shortly so good luck with the voting.
11.01.2022 Another AGM has been held , this time the GSDL and not a lot of changes here. I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the committee, this group of workers have for many years worked hard together running this club and it’s many shows and activities to perfection. Congratulations to all involved. I believe only 2 positions were contested. Vice President- Tony D’Arcy won over Jo Cathie ... Point Score - Graeme Stevenson won over Lyn Gregor. Full results can be viewed on the GSDL page. See more
10.01.2022 Hi, Unfortunately Covid-19 has hit Victoria hard, this setback will affect us all in many ways. Obviously our Victorian club activities such as Breed Surveys and training will stop for the next 6 weeks as Melbourne goes into lock down. ( please note lock down applies to the metropolitan branches at this time) ... Our thoughts and prayers go out to all our members in Victoria at this time. Can I remind all clubs to step up all the precautions as set out by your state government departments, don’t take short cuts and be very careful at any club training days or breed Surveys. We are all in this together.
09.01.2022 Breed Survey ... GSDCQ will be holding a Breed Survey this Sunday 10am. Below is the regulations regarding attending, please be aware and comply to all rules this way we can all enjoy the Breed Survey.

03.01.2022 Official notification of the approval for the 48th National to be held on the 14th to 16th May 2021.
03.01.2022 It was very pleasing to hear that South Australia held a successful members competition last weekend, a small step forward and I wish all the best to clubs and their endeavours to hold club events. Thankfully we are seeing promising signs in Victoria with consecutive days of cases below the 290 mark, our thoughts are with everyone and we hope the numbers continue to drop. Today the Prime Minister announced it has secured access to one of the most promising vaccines in deve...lopment and was hopeful that we may see this in early 2021, this certainly will help with overseas judges visiting Australia. Best of luck to all the clubs and stay safe. Cheers Sean See more
03.01.2022 Coronavirus- 48th National As most of you are aware the current situation with the coronavirus has escalated with many events around Australia being cancelled. The GSDCA are currently looking at what this means to us and the 48th National. ... On Monday the 16th March we hope to be able to unveil our plans regarding the 48th National. In the meantime stay safe and well. Regards Sean
01.01.2022 While we are all confined to our homes it was very pleasing to see so many joining in the driveways at dawn for ANZAC day. It seemed extra special for me this year sharing it with my wife. Maybe because of the isolation but it will be a memory that will remain with me. I hope you all enjoyed your weekend and remembered so many men and woman that sacrificed everything just for us. Makes you think doesn’t it. ... Anyway stay home and stay safe. Cheers Sean Lynch GSDCA President See more
