24.01.2022 Wilma and Rosie are making the most of their time in lockdown by practicing their scent work. What’s everyone else doing with their dog while stuck at home waiting for the branch to open up again?

24.01.2022 One of the projects we are really proud to support is Story Dogs at Trafalgar Primary School Each week, Rick and his very friendly fur baby, Prada, volunteer th...eir time to make reading fun for children, so they become confident lifelong readers. Prada gets special training for the role and has the right personality to put the children at ease and still provide a responsive audience - you can see she really loves what she does! "When children read to a dog, the outcomes are amazing! It is a non-judgemental setting, the children's focus improves, their literacy skills increase and their confidence soars. The accepting, loving nature of dogs gives this program its magic and helps children relax, open up, try harder and have fun while reading to a friendly, calm dog." Today I received the final approvals for training to recommence at the Gippsland branch following the move to step 3 of the Government plan. There will be restrictions on the number of people in groups which we should be able to comply with by using our split training program that we were using after the last lock down. NO MASK NO TRAINING. Please remember that with everyone wearing a mask your dog may react differently to its surroundings so it is more important than ever to follow the rules (Don’t approach a dog without asking the handler, keep your dog between 10-2 in front of you so you can see what they are doing, all dogs on lead at all times unless under the direction of an Instructor etc) If you have any questions please contact the Branch Manager

17.01.2022 We have received confirmation from Royal Canin that there will be no shortage of stock as a result of the lockdowns soon to be enforced in Victoria. If you need food for your dog please contact the branch manager and arrange a time to meet at the club rooms to pick it up.

16.01.2022 HI All As a result of Stage 3 restrictions being reinstated in regional Victoria, we have been forced to suspend our training program again. It is expected that the closure will last for at least 6 weeks, but we will monitor the situation and re-open as soon as we possibly can within the Government rules. Same as last time members will still be able to purchase Royal Canin and equipment from the branch. You will just need to contact the Branch Manager to arrange a time to me...et and pick it up. Your Instructors will remain contactable throughout the closure for any advice that you need about training and the welfare of your dog. We are already planning some instructional videos to post for members to help those who want some homework. They will hopefully start later this week. If you have any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to contact the Branch Manager

If we all stick to the rules things should run smoothly and we can enjoy our training as much as ever despite the disruptions. Most of these dogs are on their first or second attempt at tracking. The puppies are only about 15weeks old and off to a great start. We’ll keep track of their progress as they go. Great job everyone.
