You can catch these boys playing tonight at the Rock Bar before touring the NT heading to Tennant Creek tomorrow and Katherine on Saturday. Two more weeks to go for this program

24.01.2022 Funded by the Australian Federal Police, our leadership program is proving to be a success with the involvement of students from Centralian Middle School and AFP members to encourage participation. The response has been nothing short of amazing. There are some potential leaders amongst this group as we look to build on their strengths moving into next year and a new year level. 24.01.2022 Yirara College Funded by NT PHN, through The Hub of Respect Inc., this was the last session of our Making a Difference therapeutic program. These young brothers couldn’t do any of the exercises when they first started. Now they’ve shown resilience and leadership skills to assist them through life as they all head back to their homelands for Xmas. We’ve given them some skills to take away with them that will lead them on their journey of youth. Some missed out this week as the...y had to go home for Sorry business. Hope to see all you mob next year. Great work from all the teachers and support staff at Yirara College that supported this successful partnership this term and last term. JT said he’s been playing footy for 20yrs, and this is the fittest he’s ever been. Filippo said this is the lightest he’s ever been in 17yrs. These outcomes alone speak volumes. 19.01.2022 This was Fili a year ago (top left) 102kgs. He started training with us earlier this year and did our online programming over COVID until now. He’s now 82kgs. What a Champion getting this far. He’s up against Sam from KFC this Saturday. Here’s what Fili had to say about his training: In my experience, the training weeks in preparation for a fight are never easy. A lot of sweat, sore muscles, sometimes low energy levels, especially during afternoon training after a working da...y. The hardest part of all for me is the dieting and weight loss, when you train so hard, not having the belly full after, for me is the worst. Coach Steve has been following mine and other fighters progress with extreme attention, delivering us specific programs and directions to get through these months in order to get to the fighting day at our peak condition. Suggestions and teaching to improve our technique makes the difference in every single session, leaving us with new things to work on and shaping us as better fighters. Personally, I feel great, never been in such good shape, never had this strength, never felt this strong and motivated in 35 years. Looking forward to getting in the ring for fight night. See more

19.01.2022 Individually, we’ve had some of the best outcomes you could possibly get. From the start of this year, we changed the culture of our gym to suit our ethical standards. Respect and Loyalty are a priority in our second home. It’s been evident in the outcomes we have achieved this year, more our purpose of Happiness, which was my highest priority. We achieved this with every single person that allowed us to be on this journey. Thank you for giving 100 PERCENT in all the program...ming I have given you. Special thank you to Simo and Allegra, that have helped me this year to run the programming how it was meant to be from the start. It wouldn’t have been possible to have the much needed family time I needed if it wasn’t for you guys . Also to all the support staff that came along to assist me with running all our Youth programs this year (Zane and Liko - Yirara College, Jamahl, Junior, Sarah, Laura - all CMS, Molly, Simon, Dash, Simo, Gerry - all NT Police, Ken, Ellen, Joel - all Australian Federal Police, Mel - Headspace, Grace Barry - our new coach, and many more.) 16.01.2022 Another outstanding result. 8 weeks ago Joel’s diet consisted of a lot of different takeaways which even made my jaw drop lol You name it, he had it. Ridiculous amounts of junk food! Soon after the start of the AFP funded youth program, my motivational talks with the young people inspired Joel to kickstart his health journey again. With a strict diet of mainly chicken and broccoli, Joel made some massive outcomes and transformation over this last 8 week period. Along with ...a few tweaks from my end in fitness and nutrition, Joel lost 8.5% Body Fat and 12.1kgs in weight which combined a lot of our training with the AFP funded youth group, some extra training sessions with us plus his own training. Here’s what Joel had to say... Training with Steve at G-Training taught me a lot not only about exercise, but about nutrition as well. I recieved great advice that helped me cut a lot of weight over an 8 week period. The workouts were intense and productive, and my fitness vastly improved while working out at G-Training. Even my standard running times jumped up substantially. Highly recommend G-Training for results. I look forward to Joel doing a full 6 Week HIIT cycle and adding in some Boxing sessions next year. 16.01.2022 Congratulations to Noah racing in the last Natural Terrain series and placing 3/2/2 and getting overall second place in the Junior 125/250 category. Ever since Noah placed in a race a few months ago, this has given him the drive to excel in his Strength & Conditioning with our HIIT sessions. For a 15yr old, he far exceeds all expectations and pushes his body to the limits. He’s just started incorporating Boxing back into his schedule. He wouldn’t be able to do this without the push of Troy and the other gym family around him, He has a big future ahead of him. Well done bro and congratulations to Nathan for taking first place!

15.01.2022 Great event last night. We had some close fights, we had an unfortunate stoppage with a blood nose. Fili was still ready to go. We take our loses and learn from it and move forward. As a coach, I couldn’t be more proud of all our fighters and the effort they put into their training over the last 2 months. The support from our gym family is amazing There were a few changes in the last 2 days leading up to our fight which changed everything up for us. My message for anyone th...at decides to fight, IF YOU MAKE THE COMMITMENT TO FIGHT, THEN FOLLOW THROUGH. All of the fighters around town make big sacrifices for these events. It’s hard for not only the fighters, but the coaches and the promoters of these events. I know it’s been hard for Nicko this time around chopping and changing fights. Great work by all the coaches and fighters involved to swap fights the last day, and to make the event what it was. Our next fight events are hopefully February in Darwin, April in Alice and July in Mount Isa. If you are planning to fight, you need to plan for it now. Funded by NT Government Suicide Community,The Hub of Respect Inc. have established a strong partnership with Yirara College to deliver a Leadership program with these YR 8 snd 9 boys. There are potential leaders amongst this group too, there are some true characters that have pushed their training in the first week.... Hope we see you back here one day Hey Steve, Just reflecting on my experiences. After getting involved in the boxing and HIIT classes Ive felt stronger and happier. More energy to face challenges.... At first I felt self conscious starting to lift weights. Previously at other gyms Ive found it to be hard to get into the weights because mostly very strong people would be there. However I felt really encouraged by you and the rest of the crew. Pushing myself to do the best I could do. Previously I'd done box fit but not learnt how to throw punches properly. I started to grow in confidence. Feeling stronger and more accomplished, like I'm getting somewhere. I'm really going to miss the atmosphere and encouragement and feeling myself improve and seeing the rest of the crew improve too! Ps. Watching Sophie meditate and take herself into somewhere serene on the wall sit at the end of a mammoth 1.5 hour boxing session was something else

12.01.2022 TIMETABLE & PRICE LIST We are a Strength & Conditioning and Boxing Gym If you want to do a Boxing class, you have to have some knowledge of Boxing. It is a class for any fitness level.... If you want to do a HIIT class, you have to have some knowledge of weightlifting technique. This is an intermediate to advance level of fitness level. If you are unsure, it is highly recommended you do a PT session before joining a class. This will give you a good foundation and understanding for our classes, limit the risk of injury and enjoyment of our classes. Message us if you have any further questions.

09.01.2022 Welcome to Zac Push the pace. Named after one of our Brothers, this one was smashed in good time considering the 42 degree heat. The 2 laps equals 500m. Strict form on all exercises, Jack smashed the time by an unofficial time of 37mins. He had to run back and unlock the gate, so would’ve got around 35mins. Megan got 32mins, with ring pull ups, it was a great effort nonetheless. Ken was the first one to do it as he started earlier than the rest. ... Solid HIIT session for a 42 degree Friday night. 08.01.2022 See you later to these 2 legends! Sophie first did a PT with me months ago to get into the classes. She hasn’t looked back since..until Saturday. As a junior doctor, she’s been on standby for our classes but she’s been a good part of our classes finally getting her rhythm. But she’s now off to the Brisbane Children’s Hospital to further her career. She will be missed in our gym, but at the hospital as well I’m sure. Sophie has donated funds for a 3 month membership towards... a young person she made the best Xmas card. Thanks so much Sophie. We will miss you in our classes! And Dylan the machine! 06.01.2022 Sporting Code Injuries Since COVID hit, I thought it was interesting to see so many injuries incurred by our athletes that put them out for weeks on end, especially through AFL, Rugby, Netball, and Basketball being the worst for injuries. The table from Flinders University, quotes the numbers from injuries that had treatment from the hospital. It’s interesting to note, I know a lot of our athletes have not bothered to seek professional assistance, through local doctors or the... hospital, so these numbers will not reflect the injuries incurred by other sporting codes. Note Combat sports is way down the list for the Male population. Combat sports doesn’t even register in the Top 10 list for the Female population. My point, Boxing is a safe sport in terms of injuries. All coaches and referees have a duty of care, especially when competing. If you are worried about taking up the Sport of Boxing or for your child joining in the sport, talk to your Boxing coach for more information. One good prevention to injuries is doing a good strength and conditioning program. We offer these programs as well. The HIIT sessions we deliver have strengthened and improved a lot of our athletes. We have a lot of athletes that testify to this Conclusion: The numbers reflect what I’ve witnessed first hand with our gym members. Warm up properly. Stretch properly. There is a purpose to all our classes so you gain a healthy mind, body and soul. We train our classes with full intensity so you get the best capacity to shred. ... Our classes are based on Strength & Conditioning, HIIT and Boxing. They will compliment many other sporting codes. We have evidence to back this up. Here they are. Because of COVID 19, we have been restricted to the number of people we can sponsor this year. Two of these people have been sponsored by my closest friends, so it was hard to choose future leaders in our community. Jack and James we’ve been sponsoring for years. James is on point to tackle Deepwell at the end of January. If you want to join our community, come down and try a class. If you are unsure or you haven’t done HIIT or Boxing before, book in for a PT first so you know what you’re in for. 01.01.2022 RESILIENCE This was a pure example of Resilience. JT injured his wrist in the first round. His opponent saw the pain and naturally put that pressure on him. JT fought back with his injured wrist, then managed an 8 count on his opponent. He was unlucky to get another injury to his shoulder in the final round. The pain was noticeable, the push through right to the end was on point to last out the entire fight. A great example for any of our young people coming through our yout...h programs. I loved hearing and reading all the untrained comments that were saying he’s throwing haymakers You guys make that combo so much more special lol. We drilled the overhand right and left hook combo for weeks. To the untrained eye, it looked like a haymaker, but to the coach that ordered his fighter to throw that combo in the second round after his wrist injury, you witnessed an eight count in the second round because of it Get into your local boxing gym.
