25.01.2022 Message us to find out why we and our very happy students and their families and friends believe that Guitar Lessons Adelaide is the best value for for money guitar tuition in Adelaide; and how you can enjoy those same benefits.

24.01.2022 Here's some of the idea behind the mastery mindset video series. This vid puts it very well, we'll have one before too long made around all that you can become by committing to mastery yourself.

24.01.2022 At last the new carpet is in, bringing with it a more spacious layout and a more comfortable environment. An added bonus is being much better for allergies and dust management.

23.01.2022 "The Simplicity of Anchor Points" gives you direct access to all the main points on the fretboard for instant playing in any key at any time and any chord. Definitely worth the study!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OzbhT6TeHDw

23.01.2022 Two students swap and share parts on "Smoke on the Water" after only a couple of lessons! Please pardon the muffled sound :-)

22.01.2022 THE THREE LEVELS OF LEARNING We are all familiar with the character of the wise old sage. These days it seems we only see that character in fantasy movies, but why do such characters ring so true? Why do they resonate so strongly with us? What we tend to see these days is a plethora of advertising, selling us the age old secret of this or that, or my associates will hate me for giving away this secret....Continue reading

21.01.2022 WHY GETTING THE BEST IS BETTER. Back in the mid eighties I got a leather jacket. It was worth about $250. It seemed very expensive, but though that jacket is a little worn on the inside, it still looks new on the outside, and is very warm and comfortable. That adds up to around $7 a year, and is likely at that rate, to cost overall only about $4 a year for its service. An amazing price!! Similarly, I was buying boots at the time, and would pay $40 to $60 for boots that inevi...tably would only last a year. At one point around 1990, I bought a pair of boots for three times the price, and they are still awesome now, adding up to less than $5 a year so far. These days, I would just buy RMs. Back in the 80s it was my goal to find the best guitar teacher as well, and adjusted to inflation and what buying a house cost at the time, I was paying my teacher the equivalent of $400 an hour! Of course we cant compare the two, but I can say this, I would have paid what I needed to so I could get the best. You see, the wisdom of getting the best came to me early enough in my career for it to really make a difference, and, like my jacket and boots, has given me rewards for decades well beyond the cost, and rewarded me incomparably to the inferior learning I had received from cheaper guitar teachers previously. Even more so, I had to spend a considerable amount of time and effort unlearning what I had learned from cheaper teachers. If I had understood what getting the best had meant as a new student, Id have saved a decade getting my act together. Im not sure how to value a decade, and who is, but really, why waste a decade of your life? Since then I have only got the best I can get, never valuing a couple of instant dollars over long term gain because I know how truly expensive such thinking can be. These days, I charge only a fraction of what I earn per hour as a performer for lessons, but the payback for me is in the knowledge and joy that my students will never have to lose years unlearning mistakes as they would with an affordable teacher. They will instead be setting themselves up to make the very most of their musical ability right from the very first lesson. Best regards (Pardon the pun) Richie Robinson

20.01.2022 Hi everyone! Those of you who know me well will know I've had an ongoing interest in Wing Chun since the 1970s. I've incorporated many of its principles into my practice over the years, and particularly in this century, have included many of those principles in the way I teach. For some insight into the way I see this, and for ways that you may improve your approach to playing, watch this documentary :-) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uVkjj8568d8

16.01.2022 Hi everyone! I would have liked to post a little more in recent weeks, but have been snowed under with productions, movie scores, and gigs. The flip side is that every time I do one of these, there is more to show the students, particularly those who have their lessons here in the studio, and they get the benefit of being able to see and understand a variety of approaches to orchestration and arranging which can be used immediately in solo, band, big band, and orchestra perf...ormances and compositions Ive had a number of enquiries this week, I havent time to fit you all in, but Ill do my best to share the joy of music mastery with you. Im now producing (in my spare time, so it may take a while), a new series for you tube called The Mastery Mindset This will help those who wish to raise their capacity to learn and create, drawing on my decades of personal professional experience, and the resulting philosophy that has come from it. I only wish that I had someone of my experience when I was less experienced to do the same for me :-)

15.01.2022 Self-directed learning, and/or the guidance of a proven real-world professional is worth far more than a college degree. In fact it could be said that seeking out guidance from those who have a college degree to teach could be a real negative. https://youtu.be/fAp1ZGLx6R4

14.01.2022 Hi folks. Get your tickets early, and bring the family!!

13.01.2022 Hi everyone!! Here's the next video in the Mastery Mindset series. Enjoy!! https://youtu.be/-cL2ri8eLMg

12.01.2022 Hi everyone. Here is another very good reason to choose a seasoned and proven professional performer for lessons rather than a university "qualified" person who has likely gone straight from high school to uni, and never had a period of full-time employment as a performer, let alone a lifetime as one :-) Choose well those who will shape you! https://www.facebook.com/FoxNewsVoices/videos/1036227019859186/

11.01.2022 I found this amazing video about Autism. The more we see the positives in differences, the more we can all learn from each other :-) https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=637405090116913

08.01.2022 Here's a video on the Pentatonic scale in the 12th position. The focus is on playing it in rising and falling 3s. This is a fundamental exercise for those who want to play typical Jazz, Rock, and Blues, and is extensively used by players like Angus Young, Richie Blackmore, Eric Clapton, and a host of other top players!... Happy practicing!! https://youtu.be/RWnN8z2fBr0

07.01.2022 Hi everyone!!! This is another great lesson in learning. Take note of the stats, and why "academic" music learning is definitely second best to creative learning :-) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9vJRopau0g0&pbjreload=101

01.01.2022 Looking for a patient & understanding guitar teacher?

01.01.2022 Hi everyone, I'm not sure if I ever shared this video from my student Josh. Please enjoy!! What a wonderful talent!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ynnq0G3qAbY&feature=youtu.be

01.01.2022 This is what my grandad taught me at the tender age of 12. It looks a little complex here, but in small pieces is easy to chew, and fascinating way to open our musical potential. For those of you who have an intro to this already, try going beyond thinking in keys, to simply having the key of the moment and the next leading tone https://youtu.be/Gt2zubHcER4
