08.01.2022 GUNBOWER TENNIS VERBAL TROTS by MISS PIGGY T'was a beaut day for tennis on Saturday. A helluva lot better ... than what the "Old Mother" (Nature) served up on Sunday. Hope none of you were blown away!! Before we go on with who did what to whom it is a quick "get well soon" to Suz Gundry who copped a bad one from a cow. Hope you're back home before too long!! We'll start with the juniors and we knew that Gunny were going to win. Why? Cos the two junior teams were playing one another!! The Red team of Luke, Aaron, Judd and Eli proved too strong for the McBlue team of Mia, Fynn, Fergus and Violet, winning 44 to 11. To the Div 1 seniors and Gunny travelled to Koondrook. In the mens sets Silas, Angryman, and McXav (could also be known as figjam!!) won two of the three sets, and the one they lost was a tiebreaker!!, to lead by 7 games. Can you hear it? What you ask? Listen, all is still around you, can you hear McXav telling all and sundry how many sets he's won so far this season? Or better still - how many has he lost? Cos the answer is -----drum roll please maestro!!..... none!! In the ladies Ayla, Mariah and Amy battled hard but couldn't win a trick, down by 16 games. Onto the mixed and Silas and Ayla went down 7-9, Angryman and Mariah were leading 3-1 then were struck down by the "Gunny Choke" and didn't win any more!! Which leaves McXav and Amy. Remember those rumblings in the silence before? Yeah, well McXav and Amy scraped in a winning tiebreaker, but it wasn't enough to get them in front, Gunny down 51 to 66. In the Div 2 seniors Gunny hosted Kerang Green and they too bit the dust - 54 to 78. In the mens sets Dave K, McTurk, Duckie and McPacko won five of the six sets to lead by 12 games. One did get a bit of a surprise to see Dave K playing at numero uno when she had a peek at the scoresheet. Tactics maybe? Nah, just Mcpacko being confused as to which "Dave" was playing. You get that when you get old you know!! In the ladies young Yarran donned a skirt for the day and along with Stringbean, Casey and Meg battled along but had the Midas Touch in reverse, down by 26 games. In the mixed Duckie and Casey won their mixed, then Dave K and Stringbean went to the other extreme and downed a big round one - bugger!! Gunny down by another 10 games. Best with the bat included McTurk, Duckie and McPacko with three winning sets each, yippee!! See you all on Wednesday, and until then here 'tis the joke for this week - The young guy was not proud of his small penis and was very shy about it. When he took his new girlfriend to bed for the first time he insisted that they turn out the lights. In the darkness, he put his erection in her hand. "No thank you", she said, "I don't smoke."

There can be no spectators at tennis unless they are supervising a junior .
