But we are thrilled to be holding a Gundaroo Music 'Wedge' - a special live music event to be held on the traditional date of the GMF - 24 October. Because of COVID-19 restrictions and to keep our community safe - we are offering limited tickets. Raising money for those living with Motor Neurone Disease in our Region, we hope you can come out and support us. The menu is all about from-scratch, country style cooking with international influences, and specialty cuts of steak from our market grill. You’ll be serving upmarket bistro food with precision to our food savvy local customers and Canberra tourists who have grown to love our destination country ga...stro pub in Gundaroo, just 20 minutes drive from Gunghalin. Aside from a la carte service, our venue is well known for live music and special events/functions. About the role: This long term, min 4 days per week, casual position means there is no unpaid overtime. You’ll be reporting directly to the head chef and owner. You’ll need to be able to work across all sections, operate independently on some quiet days, operate well within our small and tight knit team, and most importantly cheer loudly when all the dockets roll in at once. After all we are grateful to have a relevant and successful business in the post-covid environment. This is a hands on role for someone who loves challenges and is passionate about food. As our catering business begins to open up again, you may also be required to work sporadic shifts at ANU (all mid week) and at a speciality wedding venue. However, the regular part of this job is 4 days per week in Gundaroo. Requirements for this role: Minimum 1 years experience in a pub kitchen Great grasp of english and good communication skills Be able to stay calm under pressure in a fast paced environment Have own transport, we are located 20 minutes north of Gunghalin Be available to work thursday night, friday night, saturday and sunday double shifts (some flexibility in rostering will be available) 30-40 hours per week Have a positive attitude and strong team-work approach Be hard working and well organised Be a skilled line cook, get food out hot, on time, with great quality, every time Be passionate about food and always take the extra step towards quality, and never cut corners Must have full unrestricted working rights in Australia, sorry no sponsorships available Proper food hygiene practices, and proper personal hygiene practices
