25.01.2022 Health Alert: Possible thunderstorm asthma event this weekend The ACT Health Directorate is warning of the potential for a thunderstorm asthma event in th...e ACT, this coming weekend. The warning comes as, leading into the weekend, we see elevated pollen levels and the possibility of severe thunderstorms, increasing the risk of a thunderstorm asthma event. Thunderstorm asthma can be triggered by a combination of high grass pollen levels and some thunderstorms, which causes some people to develop asthma symptoms over a short period of time. Not all thunderstorms produce an asthma event, and thunderstorm asthma is a rare event. However, people who suffer from hay fever or asthma are encouraged to be vigilant over the weekend for any worsening of their condition. Where possible avoid being outside during a thunderstorm especially in the wind gusts that come before the storm. Go inside and close your doors and windows. If you have your air conditioning on, turn it onto recirculate. If you develop asthma symptoms, follow your asthma action plan. If you experience asthma symptoms that are not relieved by your usual asthma treatment, you should seek further urgent medical advice. In the event of a medical emergency you should call 000. This is also a reminder for Canberrans who suffer from asthma and hay fever to see their doctor or pharmacist to make sure their treatment and action plans are up-to-date during the pollen season. A useful resource to help Canberrans monitor pollen levels is the free AirRater Smartphone app, which provides users with real-time information on air quality. To download the free AirRater smartphone application: https://airrater.org/ For more information on managing asthma and hay fever: read the Asthma, Hay Fever and Pollen Allergy information sheet http://bit.ly/Pollen-Factsheet visit ACT’s Health’s Pollen Allergy webpage http://bit.ly/ACT-Asthma For daily levels of grass pollen in the ACT, visit the Canberra Pollen Count and Forecast Service www.canberrapollen.com.au For further information on current air quality in the ACT, visit the ACT Health website http://bit.ly/ACT-Air-Quality

17.01.2022 It’s #nationalunicornday Unicorns more than deserve their own day! In the Middle Ages, the unicorn’s image was based greatly on Bible passages that were thought to speak of these animals, and unicorns slowly came to be seen as a symbol of strength and the purest kind of love.... We bless these stunning mythical creatures who bring magic, love, light and a world of wonderful whimsy to our lives

15.01.2022 *** Horse wanted *** - Posting on behalf of a friend My name is Tina Coppard 0430389008... I am looking for the next ‘love of my life’ (don’t tell hubby) He/she would be ideally between 14.2 - 15.3hh as I have bad knees so mount and dismount can sometimes be a challenge but if he/she is perfect then height doesn’t really matter. I would prefer something not to aged but the most important thing I’m looking for is temperament. Due to previous ill health and being out of the saddle for more than 20yrs I need something that will be willing but not to hard to handle as my days of being a ‘yeehah’ type of rider is way behind me. I want my forever horse baby for pleasure riding and possibly do a little amateur dressage which I’m currently learning. I don’t have a huge budget and would prefer to spend money on the horse after I get it so leasing/adoption would be an option if someone has a horse that they want to go to a loving home but funds would depend on the horse so if you have my ‘forever gee-baby’ I would love to hear from you. I live in Glen Alpine, NSW, and am currently looking for the perfect place to keep my baby but do have several options. Please contact Tina DIRECTLY if you have anything available - 0430389008
