25.01.2022 All the soarings of my mind begin in my blood. Rilke #masksoffforsmoko #fieldcouture day 83 Some beautiful conversation and celebration of how nourishing the body also nourishes the mind today. How interrelated and connected our bodies are...magical and mystical just like working with nature

25.01.2022 Wasn't expecting to find this today! Undoubtedly it's the mild season but we did plant them at the right time and by geez you gotta take those - oh something worked - moments there'll be a few @castlemainefm weekly market tomorrow with new winter hours still at the market building... 230-5pm If any of our regulars can't get there by 5 please get in touch as we are still packing up by then and can make sure we leave your box etc out for you

24.01.2022 #fieldcouture day 108 What Vandana said!! Seed collection today. An important skill to harness protect and get good at. Helping us to build resilience and diversity. Also sassas happy place

23.01.2022 #springdaze hot house getting full, potting on tomatoes, caps, eggplants...have noted that our saved seeds are thriving, it'll be interesting to see how true they are to type but we've got back ups too, don't worry! The flowers are bloomin beautiful, hard working dogs in potatoes and all the shades of green it's hard work right now (till autumn!) But such a wonderful time to be in the garden X

22.01.2022 Garlic garlic garlic This marks our time as 5 1/2 years on Katie and Hughs property! It's beautiful this year and we can't wait to get it into your kitchen for Christmas!... Still got more to pull but thanks to @two_good_acres we're gathering our seed stock (second year counting) for different varieties so there's garlic all year round But in the meantime you can head here: https://openfoodnetwork.org.au/harcourt-coop/shop#/shop to order yours for right now! Not available this Wednesday, but available Friday farm shop pickup and then all Wednesdays and Fridays onwards Enjoy

22.01.2022 #masksoffforsmoko #fieldcouture day 82 Celebrating Amanda our picker and friend...we may have choreographed a dance to Elvis which was for Manda's eyes only. It involved a rhubarb mic and laughter and tears Sas has left the building and Elvis has stayed to help us pick... farming can be stressful and hard work but we're determined dammit to balance it all with fun, joy, enjoying our one and only precious life...and we believe that it will transcend into the food we grow...plants know all about vibrations...being conscious of how we tread in all the ways. Hope you find a lightness of heart in your day whatever you gotta do to get it

19.01.2022 Help! We're looking for funding for our wonderful 'Intern to Be' Ruby Everette! We are hoping to start her on a 6 month internship program, developed(ing) by us in August. All going well it might be something we can offer annually to aspiring growers. If anyone knows of potential grants or funding bodies, please email us: [email protected] Growing the growers has always been a part of our long term vision. We alone can only feed such a small amount of people in our co...mmunity and there is space for many more passionate souls doing what we do. Helping to train and inspire the next generation of thoughtful, small scale growers is a responsibility, a challenge and an honour that we completely accept and hold. We have been and continue to be blessed with mentorship, learning and guidance from many wonderful people on our journey and we hope to pass that on down the line. There currently are very few internship or hands on learning opportunities for aspiring small scale market gardeners in Australia. Especially ones that actually provide the intern with any kind of income so they can survive whilst in training. This exactly the sort of program that we need to be encouraging to ensure the future sustainability of the small scale, diverse and ecologically wise food growing system. So, if you are hooked into the world of grants and funding and have any ideas or leads for us, or if you have any great ideas about how we could fund our first 6 month intern program. Please get in touch by email: [email protected] Lets grow the growers!

19.01.2022 Woohoo!! Things are starting to grow again! The flowers are popping and so we thought we'd share the love with them in our loose salad mix this week, or you can grab a bag to take home your own flowers and shower what you wish with colour, sunshine and joy (that's how flowers make us feel anyway!) Only sent a few to market this week, so let us know if you want more!! Ruby picked a whole Lotta baby beets for y'all this week too. Thanks folks may you be enjoying the cracking days and getting your fair share of vit D! There's also sprouting broccoli, herbs, parsley, coriander, leeks, rhubarb...and very soon we can add peas and broadies to the mix!

18.01.2022 This!!!! So excited to have a thing that records all the things! Rain, wind, temps, pressure, moon phases... None of us at the co-op are perfect at records, so having this that stores the info online means we can gather data long-term and know what's going on day to day; as anyone who lives here will know the weather is very different up here than 15mins down the rd in Castlemaine. And yes, that 8degrees is our week average with nights of about 3-6 degrees...
