25.01.2022 Only 3 days left for SWELL Sculpture Festival 2020. Its been a fun week ending 7 months of hard work on this piece honouring the medical staff of Gold Coast Health I have had a lot of trauma with my health over the past 5 yrs and it came back up yesterday. My experience with them has been amazing, I don't know how they do it day in and out. This sculpture is part art therapy and part tribute to the work they do for the Gold Coast. 22.01.2022 It's great to have my new sculpture down at Currumbin for SWELL Sculpture Festival this year. GUARDIANS OF THE GOLD COAST is a tribute to the Gold Coast Health nurses, doctors, specialists and all the admin staff at Robina hospital that have helped me and so many others over the years, they are the true guardians of the Gold Coast. Our city houses many guardians, the protectors of our people, the unsung heroes of the Gold Coast. From the lifeguards at the beach to the firefig...hters protecting our homes, the social workers helping those most in need and the police guarding the safety of our community. This sculpture honours the medical staff of Gold Coast Health and the sacrifices they make, expressing my appreciation and respect to the nurses, doctors and hospital staff that save our lives every day, the Guardians of the Gold Coast. It's my hope that it can have a new home at Robina Hospital, it was designed to sit out front on the small roundabout at the front entrance. Huge thanks to Swell, Bleach Festival everyone that voted and all the life saving guardians at Gold Coast Health that inspired the piece. 10.01.2022 I have spent a little too many days in the Robina Hospital on the Gold Coast and everytime I'm blown away from the quality of treatment and the absolutly positive and happy attitude of the nurses, specialists, doctors and admin staff there. I designed and built this years sculpture GUARDIANS OF THE GOLD COAST as a tribute to all the amazing work they do and to say thank you to Gold Coast Health. It's my hope that it can one day go on site at the hospital to inspire the staff and remind the visitors and patients of the work they do everyday. Below is some of the concept art and you can see the before and after of the steel I bent, formed, cut, grinded and polished to get this piece fabriacted. Huge thanks to my fiancee Lou Kacer for the extra muscle moving and bending the snake.
09.01.2022 Heading to the SWELL Smalls Gallery - Opening Night tonight, my beautiful (and not at all crazy haha) fiancèe Lou and I made this golden staff of love and protection. Itll be on display at the Dust Temple for the next couple of weeks.

01.01.2022 My Guardians of the Gold Coast sculpture will be up at Burliegh Stocklands shopping centre for the next 2 weeks during Bleach Festival after winning the peoples choice award at this year's SWELL Sculpture Festival. The sculpture is a big thankyou from me to the Gold Coast Health workers for their tireless effort and attitudes as the coasts last line of defence, our Guardians of the Gold Coast.
