21.01.2022 In his book "The Buddha and the Badass", Vishen who is CEO of Mindvalley explains his interesting view of goal setting. When he sets goals, and when he asks his team to set goals, he does so knowing that 50% of those goals should have a 50% chance of failure. In other words, they are not, strictly speaking, realistic and attainable. (SMART) And thats okay. Because our happiness shouldnt be tied to their achievement.... Our happiness lies in knowing we did everything we could to TRY to attain them, our happiness lies in the pursuit, in working towards, in the process...on the journey. Beautiful things happen on that journey. Great things, amazing things that might change the destination itself. And so tying your happiness to achieving a goal makes little sense. Instead, tie your happiness to the process and use unrealistic goals as a compass. See more

21.01.2022 My son, Liam is actively making a difference in the mental health of youngsters in his age group - teens and twenties, but this information is useful for all ages really... __________ I'm Honoured to be an official Brand Ambassador for this incredible Mental Warrior Movement - which helps people struggling in remote and rural areas using a Text based service. Mental Health can often be a vague term thrown around - with a lot of weight and stigma around it, and I believe ...at points in our lives we all face it to some degree. If a loved one or close family member dies, we move countries, have a serious injury, bullying, lack of direction, lack of support and connection, addictions, a break up or divorce. As clichéd as it may sound it's perfectly okay to not feel okay. Your thoughts in those moments may try to persuade you otherwise - but there always is a way out ! Keep in mind what World Renowned Memory Expert Jim Quick says " Common Sense is often not Common Practice "... These tips may be common sense but they have been proven to be effective, even if you aren't struggling they can enhance your happiness 1. Staying Active, Exercising - even if it's just a 20 min walk in Nature. 2. Seeking Connections with friends or family, or Smiling at Strangers ( Some won't smile back but you will be surprised at how many do ) 3. Eating Whole Foods - The veggies can be a form of medicine haha 4. Journalling about experiences you may be struggling with, or creating a Meditation and Mindfulness Habit. 5. Sleeping - Create a specific schedule, so your body gets into a rhythm before it goes to bed. 6. Do Random Acts of Kindness , even if it is just letting someone through the door before you - and expect nothing in return. 7. Seeking Professional Help : For some people their anxiety around picking up the phone or sitting face to face with a professional is just too great. For others the embarrassment around admitting they have a problem or need help is overwhelming. You can make a difference by joining the #MentalHealthWarrior movement and providing these people with an alternative solution to seeking help. We found 60% of those people who have used our Text services reported that they would not have reached out for any psychological help if Text counselling had not been available.

As well as my Mom (Gwen Meyer) who is a Project Manager, Change Facilitator and Life Coach. Vince, my Current Personal Trainer who owns a Personal Training Studio and is studying Psychology. Matt Sykes who is also Studying Psychology, and is my friendly neighbourhood Tutor and puts a smile on my face, and others when he dances. Dervla Vains the CEO and Founder of the Rapidly growing company, Virtual Psychology - who holds degrees in Industrial Psychology, Clinical Psychology, and Sport & Exercise Psychology, and has worked for the government and international organisations as a senior psychologist for over 20 years. You cant remove stress from your life for good, but you can learn to deal with it effectively. Some great practical tips to help deal with anxiety driven stress. Sometimes people dont know theres a flip side to someone having an anxiety disorder in that these people may be very driven, quite perfectionistic, quite detail oriented and quite intelligent. and are not diminished in having treatment.
