25.01.2022 Huge congratulations to Laura Gardiner on being drafted to the Geelong Cats at pick number 20! Laura has been playing with us in our u18 girls side for a number years now and it has been amazing watching her grow over the years! We are very proud of you Laura, all the best on your new adventure at the Cats

24.01.2022 U/15 and u/18 girls footy training is on at Bakers oval tonight, Wed 4th from 5-6pm. See you there!

22.01.2022 Our U/15 and U/18 girls and our Senior Women are all back enjoying some footy training. Our U/18s this week were embracing social distancing to the max in their warm-up!

21.01.2022 Our U/18 girls are blessed with a great blend of experience and leadership on and off the field this year. This season we welcome 4 girls who are new to formal leadership but have been selected for the application, maturity and reliability they have been showing at training. Makenzie (Pip) Cumper and Ella Johns will be our Co-captains this year, with Aimee Wookey and Shilo Davis ably backing them up as vice-captains. Congratulations girls, and I’m sure you will will get plenty of help from your experienced teammates as you grow into your new roles.

18.01.2022 House Iberia has been a long time and fantastic supporter of our club. Now, like many businesses, they are going through tough and uncharted waters and are having to make tough and sad decisions like this one. As a community we need to support them where we can and more than ever before. They have fantastic coffee and food and they are amazing people. We will get through these times together by working with each other and grabbing their delicious food and drinks via their designated times and delivery. 12.01.2022 Have a look at the attached video from our senior Women’s recruiter Simon. Hopefully you have access to a footy at home so you can practise these fundamentals of kicking whilst we can’t play games. You don’t need much room or a partner so get out in the backyard and give Simon’s tips a go. With some practise, you’ll be kicking like a pro in no time!

12.01.2022 A Giant of a game from one of our U/18 girls. Congratulations Laura Gardiner, playing a fantastic brand of footy for the Geelong Falcons this season. This is no surprise as Laura has been setting the standard at Falcons training all summer.

12.01.2022 U/10 and U/12 girls footy training on again at Bakers oval this Wednesday, 4-5pm. Hope we see lots of new girls at training to meet our enthusiastic new coaches Zoe and Vicki. No footy experience necessary, just come on down and have some fun!

12.01.2022 Join us in welcoming our 2020 u/10,u/12 girls footy coaches Victoria Briskoska and Zoe Muir. Vicki and Zoe are leaders in our Giants U/18 girls team and are keen to pass their experience and love of footy onto our young group of female players. We are always keen to welcome new girls to the Giants so feel free to share this with anyone whose 8-12 y.o girl is thinking of giving footy a go.

11.01.2022 A very warm welcome and congratulations to Jess Mapapalangi, who will coach our U/15 girls team in 2020. Jess is new to our club this year but in a short time has really embraced the Giants and and is very happy to share her extensive football knowledge with our junior girls. Jess will play Senior Women’s football with us this year, having played junior football for many years. Jess will be assisted at training each week by some of her senior womens team mates. Thanks Jess for your commitment to our junior female footy program!

08.01.2022 Congratulations to our own u/18 Giant Laura Gardiner, who is one of 3 Geelong Falcon girls invited to the 2020 NAB Draft Combine. The Combine sees the best young footballers across Australia showcase their physical abilities in front of club recruiters. To be invited, draft hopefuls had to be nominated by at least 3 AFLW clubs. Join us in wishing Laura all the very best in her next footballing adventure.

08.01.2022 Please see our club’s latest update below on all footy training this week and into the foreseeable future. This is understandable in light of the social distancing measures announced to help control the spread of Covid-19. Keep fit and well, and practise your bouncing, handballing and kicking in the backyard until we can all get together again.

03.01.2022 With the State Government announcements today we are one step closer to sanctioned training in small groups up to ten whilst maintaining physical distancing guidelines. Geelong West Giants will be holding off from any formal training sessions until AFL Victoria and Netball Victoria have released their recommendations of how this will look. We expect a statement to be released from them over the next 48 hours

Awesome effort. With only a few weeks until the raffle ends it would be fabulous to see one more push to get us over the 10k mark. Plenty of amazing prizes to be won from the raffle itself, but to create a bit of incentive to buy, share and sell these raffle tickets, we have introduced our own prize, that one player FROM THIS CLUB will win!
