Again the "then" photo (top) shows the old Maritime control tower just before it was removed (picture taken 8/4/15) . The "now" picture (taken 14/9/20) shows how the trees and vegetation have matured over the period. Interesting all the planting at Barangaroo Headland park is of native plants from within a 3km radius of the headland park! 08.01.2022 This is a then and now picture! The "now" shows the new Crown tower at Baranagaroo alongside the HSBC and KPMG towers. I took that on Saturday. The "then" was taken just over 5 years ago on the 8th April 2015. In the "then"picture" the KPMG tower is just being constructed. The "marker" building for both photos is the Macquarie offices with the criss-cross design in the bottom right of each picture! Also notable in the "then" picture is the fact there are no ferry wharves yet... at Barangaroo. Did you know there are three stages of twilight? 1) Civil Twilight is the period before/after the sun rises or sets and lasts for about 25 minutes. It is light enough to still see and do things without artificial light 2) Nautical twilight exists for about 30 minutes before Civil Twilight and is a period from when the ...horizon becomes visible to when you can do things without artificial light. 3) Astronomical twilight is the period about 30 minutes before Nautical twilight when the sky is no longer black. So that's about an hour and a half of extra time when its not pitch black at the beginning and end of each day! The times given above are for Sydney, twilight depends on your latitude (distance from the equator). For instance at the North and South Poles there is no twilight at certain times of year as there is no sunset!
