22.01.2022 CONTAINER DEPOSIT SCHEME! The Container Deposit Scheme is coming to Victoria and the State government has given the community the opportunity to have a say on the design of the scheme. For those who are not across these, they are essentially dispensaries that collect specific types of beverage containers such as plastic, glass bottles and aluminum cans and rewards people for what they recycle.... The scope of what your feedback can impact includes but is not limited to things such as how it should operate, types of eligible containers and even how the deposit is received. EVEN WHERE YOU'D LIKE TO SEE THEM! I will be making a submission of my own. If you have ideas and thoughts on what you think the scheme should look like but aren't comfortable with writing one or completing either of the short or long survey responses you can TELL ME by either writing in the comments below or message me what you would like me to include in my submission. You can also watch this handy little video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VxtjIl3J3d4 You can follow the link here to read the discussion paper, fill out the surveys or make a submission. https://engage.vic.gov.au/container-deposit-scheme PLEASE BE QUICK THOUGH AS SUBMISSIONS CLOSE 30 NOVEMBER

21.01.2022 Kingston's 2021 Cultural Diveristy Week Launch celebration hosted by the Kingston Interfaith Network The theme of today's celebration was "Living in Harmony", something we should all aspire to do. The celebration included a beautiful Bollywood dance by the Let's Naach group, a traditional Chinese dance by the Kingston Chinese Senior Citizens as well as an incredible mindfulness and spiritual Wayapa Wuurrk workshop run by Jacara Egan which I sadly was so engrossed in I forgot to take photos We also celebrate World Harmony Day on the 21st of March, this Sunday, which coincides with the United Nations' Intentional Day for the elimination of Racial Discrimination - something that we all need to take an active role in overcoming as it is still so prevalent around the world and on our shores

18.01.2022 What a beautiful event to be a part of. Thank you Le Page Tennis Club for the invitation and thank you to Blind Sports & Recreation Victoria for demonstrating and letting me participate. As a huge tennis fan this was really special to be part of and learn about - hopefully this is a start of a really great collaboration. How great to have accessible sports closer to the South East for all to enjoy

15.01.2022 If you haven't been to Station Stop Cafe and said hello to Wael and Sam did you really come past Parkdale? My page has almost turned into a pizza appreciation page with the amount of pizzas I've had this past few weeks. Was a beautiful lunch with great company- with Cr Steve Staikos - Bunjil Ward - City of Kingston, Cr Tim Cochrane, Cr Tracey Davies and our local Minister of Mordialloc Tim Richardson and friends

14.01.2022 At @stkildafc All Nations Program school event With Mayor Long and Cr Garad from the City of Greater Dandenong, Mr.Ferguson from Moorabbin Airport, representatives from St Kilda FC and the AFL and Mayor Staikos. Operating out of Moorabbin in the City of Kingston the All Nations School Program sponsored by Moorabbin Airport has engaged approximately 4500 students in the program across both the City of Kingston and the City of Greater Dandenong and speaks to the broader commit...ment that the AFL and more specifically St Kilda has to the community. Especially after last year to have programs like these run is a testament to that commitment. I'm personally very passionate about diveristy and providing opportunities for multicultural communities. The All Nations school program, and the scholarship and leadership programs they run really addresses engaging and encouraging these communities through both on-field AFL skills but also off-field leadership skills. It's great to see those who traditionally do not fit the typical model of engagement of AUSKICK and after school trainings be able to participate in a safe environment through the school program and have that accessibility. More opportunities for our multicultural youth.

05.01.2022 Yesterday, Cr Steve Staikos - Bunjil Ward - City of Kingston and I were invited to look at the progress and get up to date on the plans for the development of the space at the corner of Elder South Street. I am extremely excited to get to share these plans and invite residents feedback on the proposed community spaces very soon. Most residents in Clarinda will have recognised this place as a bit of a sore point due to the high levels of dirt blowing into their yards and the d...irt on mud on the road. I heard your concerns and have raised them with our officers and thankfully we have some good news to share. The park space is nearing its completion which means there will be less trucks carrying and spilling dirt onto the road and this activity will be winding up. In regards to the loose dirt flying into peoples homes, as of Monday seeding for the grass will begin meaning things will not be shifting and we will get a beautiful open park space that will be enjoyed by everyone very soon. #ElderSouthStreet #kingston #Karkarook #cityofkingston
