19.01.2022 You know what they say.. a problem shared is a problem halved.. let me help you 'lighten the load'. Liz xx

16.01.2022 Firstly.. I'm sorry this is so wordy... bear with me OK.. so we're in recession, I suspect that most of you knew that already. So what does that actually mean, and more importantly what does it mean for you. Technically a recession is two consecutive quarters of negative economic growth. It is really important to remember that recessions are normal, often unavoidable and generally relatively short, 6-18 months and they are usually followed by periods of growth.... Some people won't be affected at all, and will come out the other side in a similar or stronger position, and the government assistance is definitely helping substantially with that. I sincerely hope that this applies to all of you reading this, but just in case it doesn't.... What are some of the things you can do to help 'cushion the blow' to you personally: 1. Take stock, do a budget, work out where you can save, and cut back where you can. 2. Have some savings for a rainy day, we usually suggest a 3 month buffer - that can be quite a lot, so start small - every little bit helps give you more peace of mind. 3. Review your debts, can you refinance to a lower rate, can you extra payments on some of your higher interest debts 4. Talk to your providers, don't put your head in the sand, they won't go away. Try to negotiate reduced payments, deferred payments, lower rates, a month free or ongoing discounts. Most providers would prefer to work with you and recoup their money over time, than lose most of it to debt collectors. 5. Reach out for help, I'm happy to help where I can, and if I can't, I will point you in the right direction and provide a friendly shoulder if nothing else. Look after yourselves, and each other Liz xx
