25.01.2022 Yes we are open !!! As you are all well aware of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) is affecting small businesses we are lucky enough that we don’t fall under the stage 1 guidelines so we are still open, however we as a salon are doing our bit to prevent any of our staff and clients being affected by COVID-19, so we ask that our clients do there bit as well. Us as a salon have - upped the stock of our wraps and towels (will be changed after every client) - Hand sanitizers are p...laced in multiple areas of the salon - Station will be wiped down after each service - Our hands will be washed after each service - Regular cleaning in general We have also come to a point we’re we will be only taking our regular clients, we will not be accepting new clients until a later date. You as clients - if you are feeling unwell or have any signs of flu like symptoms we ask you to stay away - If you are feeling uncomfortable with the whole COVID 19 and don’t wanna come to salon and want to cancel appointment we totally understand that. - If you have traveled overseas in the last 3 weeks we suggest that you cancel your appointment for a later date We Thankyou for your understanding of this, it’s going to be a tough time for everyone but everyone health and safety comes first

24.01.2022 Susan Maree McGillivray I spoke with 2 of the stock agents in Cohuna last week . The figures they shared are staggering! 27,000 dairy cows went through their b...ooks in the past 12months and around 9,000 young stock ! Remember this is only 2 agents . 55 dairy farms have ceased operating and most dairy farms have reduced numbers . I think it would be a conservative estimate that 30,000 dairy cows have left our district in the past 12 months . 1 dairy cow generates $4000 annually so that is $120,000,000 that will no longer flow through our local economy! It's also important to note that this occurred whilst Victoria was on 100 % water allocation and temp water was $400 . It's frightening to think what will happen with %40 allocation and temp water at $1000 ! Susan Maree McGillivray To make it worse the MDBA's Phil Townsend and other agencies who were given the task of predicting the impact the plan would have for our region came up with the advice that the reduction of Water would only have a modest effect on milk production ! Seriously they could have asked our Primary School children and they would have had a more accurate evaluation! Instead we have paid these morons who wear none of the responsiblity of their crappy work! Water It’s all about water and life its self The government has the power to release affordable water to its dairy farmers if it cared. Over seas countries are subsidised by their governments by up to 60% and dump their products in Australia’s free trade policy and we’re expected to compete with countries paying their people $3 per hr wages? Fair go Mr Morrison you are killing your own. May be a National exposure of politicians and their family members who own large water rights would explain things. Percunery interest, insider trading I thought was illegal I guess unless you are a political power. God Help Us. Please Share

04.01.2022 Visitation Update Respect have made the difficult decision to remain in full precautionary lockdown for the time being. This decision was made in light of the i...ncreasing numbers of cases of Coronavirus in both Tasmania and Victoria and the risk that community borne transmission poses to our residents. We understand that this decision will cause some anxiety and frustration however the decision hasn’t been made lightly. We have however created a second category under the exceptional circumstances direction. This second category relates to a situation whereby a resident is at risk of sadness and depression due to missing family and/or social isolation, and this cannot be resolved through other methods. This category applies to the resident expressing these feelings, as opposed to the family member or friend. We understand family and friends may be anxious, but the category is for anxious residents, and therefore decision to allow entry based on this category will be made by Respect following an assessment of need versus potential risk. In any case, if an exceptional circumstance is assessed under this category or in the context of end of life care, visitors will still be required to; book in advance; read and understand fact sheets on hand hygiene, sneeze and cough etiquette, and social distancing (and a test must be passed prior to entry); complete a risk-based questionnaire regarding recent travel and activities; have their temperature taken; be supervised on entry to ensure proper hand sanitisation; maintain social distancing from their loved one of 1.5 meters throughout the duration of their visit; only visit their loved one in their room and with no access to public or communal areas, or to visit other residents; and wear personal protective equipment if deemed necessary in the future depending on the circumstances. Visits will be limited to 30 minutes and be required to be conducted between 9am to 5pm from Monday to Friday, but will be considered in the situation of a resident receiving end of life care with flexibility in this regard applied on a case by case basis. Visitors who don't comply with these conditions of entry and/or who do not follow the directions of staff will be asked to leave and refused further entry. Whilst we don't want to be punitive, we must strictly adhere to these measures to ensure the safety of residents and staff. Please remember you can still call at anytime, or video call by arranging this with the home your loved one resides in. When talking to your loved one, if you can please reassure them that this is a precautionary measure only, and we are working day and night to ensure their safety whilst having as much social engagement as we can provide in the circumstances. 01.01.2022 Fruit growers on the lower Darling River have begun turning off the water to their permanent plantings killing their trees as they harvest the final citrus ...crop grown in the valley. "That's the end of the business. It's as simple as that," Alan Whyte of Jamesville Station said. "This current season has been quite good, we've had a good crop of fruit, but there won't be another crop from here, ever." Six families in the area have spent five years negotiating with the Commonwealth to hand back their high-security water licences in exchange for compensation to exit the industry. Now, with virtually no irrigation water left, they have been forced to turn off the taps before a deal has been reached. "You can't pick up the tree and park it, you can't mothball it then think you'll fire it up in two years' time," Mr Whyte said. ' ' Mr Whyte has supplied the Mildura Fruit Company for more than 25 years and, with his father, was a pioneer of fruit growing in the district. The company's grower services manager, Bill Robinson, said the Whytes were "very technically advanced" growers who produced high-quality fruit. "He's learnt the best growing techniques and the best varieties to grow on his property and he's implemented that over 20, 25 years, so it's a big loss to the Australian industry as a whole. "He's up in the top 10, 15 per cent of the growers that grow the best fruit and, more importantly, the best varieties." ' ' Rachel Strachan of Tulney Point Station said the collapse of the local industry and the threat to her family's livelihood was causing significant stress. "I don't know how we're going to put food on the table, I really, really don't, because all of our income stream is through horticulture," she said. "He's up in the top 10, 15 per cent of the growers that grow the best fruit and, more importantly, the best varieties." "We have nowhere to turn at the moment." Nerida Healy of Court Nareen Station between Pooncarie and Menindee said the pressure had started affecting her children. "It's a bit sad when your kids actually play meetings as their game and they set up at the computer," Ms Healy said. "My two-year-old said to me one day, 'Shhh, I just need to do these emails and I just need some quiet'." ' ' Mr Whyte said the past five years had been a "pretty tough ride". "The balance sheets on those properties have been destroyed and you can't really sell or list for sale or value any of those properties at anything other than dryland properties at the moment." At the Mildura Fruit Company, Mr Robinson said he had made personal connections with the growers. "Now the trees are dying, I think, psychologically, it must be very, very hard," he said. "We asked Alan how he was coping. He said he was coping quite good up until the week the trees were starting to die and he's been struggling since then." : https://ab.co/2op2JsO.
