12.01.2022 On Thursday 7th of Jan, we had science day at Halifax Street! Each room explored different experiences and themes throughout the day, such as cause and effect and nature. In room one, we made little volcanoes out of bicarb soda and added food colouring and vinegar. After adding the vinegar, we watched in amazement as the food colouring and bicarb soda fizzled out. ... In room two, we took magnifying glasses outside to explore different plants and insects in our garden. In room 3/4, we also made volcanoes and took turns in adding the ingredients together. We also combined water, food colouring and washing detergent together to see what would happen! These experiences facilitated a number of conversations across the age groups: ‘What will happen?’ ‘What will happen next?’ ‘What colours can we see?’ ‘What can you see?’ ‘Why is this happening?’ These conversations assisted us in our language development, listening to others and thinking of different ideas. Science day was a great way for us to explore different things in a hands on way.

10.01.2022 Last Friday we had bright colour day, and encouraged everyone to come to Halifax wearing something colourful. Here, some of our educators are getting into the spirit of the day!

01.01.2022 Happy new year and welcome back to our new and current families! We all hope you enjoyed the festive season. Just a friendly reminder that the centre now opens at 7:30 am and families are now able to come inside the centre to drop your little ones off. ... Finally, tomorrow is also t-shirt decorating day at the centre. Please provide a plain shirt for your child to decorate in their room to take home at the end of the day. Thank you, and we look forward to seeing you all back in the centre for drop-off and pick-up times.
