25.01.2022 As we wind down for 2020, this was definitely a highlight. This podcast/live was such a smash hit that it generated over 2000 listens/views. Thank you to the Celebrant Institute for giving me the opportunity to join you.

25.01.2022 Kathryns trophy is on its way home to the Barossa.

23.01.2022 And this is it. The big one. Kathryn has officially been recognised as a finalist in the big category of Rising Star Ausmumpreneur for WA/SA 2020. Fingers crossed for Kathryn in these categories but she is officially #TeamBarossa. Which means any win by her Barossa colleagues in categories is win for all of us.

23.01.2022 There are a few people we have come across in our travels over the last six months. Cindy Westphalan is one of them. She speaks with Jennie Lenman on SA Today about the trials and tribulations of weddings in the COVID Era.

23.01.2022 We have absolutely loved shining the spotlight on SAWer Kathryn & Hallett Law throughout August! Were grateful for all that she brings to our community. Kathry...n is one of our local SA Woman ambassadors, so for those living in & around the Barossa - youre sure to catch up at a members chinwag some time soon. And for those who live further afield, but want the inside scoop on where you need to go for the best coffee & eat like a Barossan...weve got you covered!!! In our chat with Kathryn, she gave us the lowdown. Youre welcome "I am from Angaston and so I am required to tell you that the best coffee and food happens to be in Angaston. You must get your coffee at D&Ms Bakery Cafe - Angaston, head on up to Roaring 40s Cafe for pizza (they have won awards for Best Pizza and Best Pizzamaker in Australia) and then of course on your way back out of Angaston, stop off and grab some cheese from the Barossa Valley Cheese Company." Dont mind if I do!

21.01.2022 Two states, Victoria and South Australia, changed the rules and regulations for gatherings over the weekend. Please note that this is not specific legal advice ...and you should speak with your friendly lawyer for any clarification you may have in relation to these rules and regulations. Please be aware that this information is general in nature and does not constitute legal advice. It is also a fast changing situation and therefore you should seek legal advice should you have any queries. You can speak with us at Hallett Law for legal advice.

21.01.2022 Another gigantic shout out to a local business, this time, Office National Barossa, for helping us load our furniture and move to new premises. We would not be getting this done without the help of Keegan, Jimmy and the crew.

21.01.2022 The final meeting of the year - a Christmas gathering of Scale Up at Automio to celebrate wins and to discuss plans for 2021.

18.01.2022 Just one week away from a number of our clients having access to this phenomenal platform.

18.01.2022 Tonight, the finalists were announced for the SA Woman Awards, and Hallett Law is the proud sponsor of the Heart Award. 17.01.2022 Often, all we can do, is listen.

17.01.2022 Due to the rapid changes taking place with Government regulations around Australia and the escalation in event related disputes leading into wedding season, we have pushed back our release date by a week! Its also allowing us to iron out a few technical issues experienced during pre-release so that when the product goes live, its nothing short of being perfect #gamechanging #EventLaw

17.01.2022 WE DECLARE OUR ONLINE STORE OFFICIALLY OPEN! https://hallettlaw.com.au/online-store/

16.01.2022 And thats a wrap. Another week of life, with promise ahead.

16.01.2022 On Friday evening, Hallett Law made a donation to the Nuriootpa Town Band. COVID-19 has hit many community associations and groups hard, limiting their ability to perform and generate donations. While the Nuriootpa Town Band play for enjoyment, they still have expenses such as public liability insurance in order for them to share their performances with us. We hope our donation has gone some way to give them a reason to continue into 2021

15.01.2022 Congratulations everyone, weve made it to September of 2020. For a lot of our clients, 1st September means the start of the busy event season. I saw this today and immediately thought of my own reactions to COVID-19. Even though I often feel like the Commander of troops currently in battle, I too can tick all of these boxes as recent experiences of my own.... In other words, all of these reactions are normal. While life right now isnt normal, our reactions to it are. Stay safe and as well as can be. - Kathryn (Modified slightly using censor )

14.01.2022 Good afternoon everyone, we are currently experiencing a high demand of calls, as a result of the South Australian restrictions coming into effect tonight. If you are at all concerned about issues relating to the standing down of employees over this period of time, please contact us at [email protected] and we can undertake a revi...ew of your workplace award, contract of employment and assist you in determining how you should proceed. Alternatively, you are a member of the Wedding and Event Lawyer FB Group, you have the opportunity to watch LIVE updates over the course of the afternoon and the next few days so as to manage concerns you have. We are here to support our clients to get through this difficult situation.

14.01.2022 Hallett Law would love to give a huge shout out to Barossa Helium Balloons and Party Supplies, who allowed Kathryn to work her magic in the balloon room and utilise some of their supplies in doing so. We highly recommend Trish and the team if you have an event. They not only cater to the Barossa region but also provide services Adelaide-wide.

14.01.2022 The Wedding and Events Industry was, and still is, heavily impacted by the COVID-19 restrictions imposed throughout the country. To assist going forward, Kathryn has been working tirelessly to create an online platform to enable Celebrants to personalise their own set of Client Terms and Conditions. Imagine, booking fees, postponements, and cancellations clauses galore! If youre a celebrant, and this sounds like something you may be interested in, check out the link below to find out more; https://hallettlaw.com.au/online-store/ And dont worry, photographers and videographers, youre next!

12.01.2022 Due to the South Australian Government's Directions relating to the COVID-19 "Circuit Breaker Measures", Hallett Law offices are closed. However, we are still working from home to assist all clients with their current matters or concerns. Please do not hesitate to email [email protected] or call 0452 614 454 whilst we nip this coronavirus in the bud!

11.01.2022 LIVE SESSION: 30 MINS NOTICE Hi everyone, I will be jumping online in 30 mins time. I don't have all of the answers but I certainly am able to pin point some of... the SA announcements where you need to be wary about before making big decisions or taking a mountain of calls. My assessment of the situation is, once again, that South Australia has not done a fantastic job at legislating and regulation writing. We await the release of the new Direction in the coming hours but I will be online for questions - answers which are certainly not guaranteed.

10.01.2022 Kathryn is taking a much needed week off and will be back in the office on 14 September 2020. For any urgent queries, please contact Bianca on [email protected].

10.01.2022 Kathryn Adams has been named Peoples Choice Leadership Award third place winner. The awards were held online via Zoom where thousands of talented mums in business from all over the country tuned in to the livestream to support and encourage other Australian mumpreneurs. Kathryn said she was excited to win bronze in her category in the 2020 AusMumpreneur Awards in such a challenging time.... Kathryn says: this Award means a lot but the real reward comes from seeing those who have worked with me push through these challenging times to see light again. Being involved in the Ausmumpreneur Awards has also enabled me to be surrounded by incredible women who have helped me push through too. The AusMumpreneur Awards are presented by The Womens Business School and were created to inspire, celebrate and provide a community for Australian entrepreneurs, like Kathryn. Now more than ever Australian women need inspirational role models and a safe and supportive space to connect online, Peace Mitchell, cofounder of The Womens Business School said. These awards are all about recognising the growing number of mums who are achieving outstanding business success while balancing motherhood, states Mitchell. I was blown away by the courage, resilience and entrepreneurial spirit of the award winners and I know that they will provide great inspiration for other women considering starting their own business. This is the eleventh year the AusMumpreneur Awards have run, with the business mum community growing at lightning speed as mothers look for opportunities to join the ranks of small business owners in search of more flexibility, financial freedom and family time. The Womens Business School co-founder Katy Garner adds: The awards show the passion of women who want to fulfil their entrepreneurial dreams as well as be great mums. The number of women starting businesses has continued to grow in 2020! Of the 670,000 women operating a small business in Australia currently, around 50 per cent are mums with children at home. We are proud to be the number one community for mumpreneurs and showcasing the best and the brightest each year through these awards. We are delighted that Kathryn has been acknowledged with this award, she has created an outstanding business and is an inspirational role model and ambassador for mums in business everywhere. We wish her and all our amazing AusMumpreneur Award winners every success. The complete list of winners can be found at: https://ausmumpreneur.com/2020-ausmumpreneur-awards-winners/ For more information on the AusMumpreneur Awards visit: www.ausmumpreneur.com And the Womens Business School: www.thewomensbusinessschool.com

10.01.2022 In the Barossa, September sees the end of the pruning process and we now watch the vines spring to life. The growth of grapes occurs rapidly. These vines will be overflowing with delicious grapes ready for picking by mid-January. Perhaps the growth process is a metaphor we can use for our own lives and businesses. The long winter is over, and its now time to grow and flourish. - Kathryn, Principal Lawyer

09.01.2022 http:// MEET OUR SUMMIT SPEAKERS - Session 6 :: 11:50am - 12:15pm Oh my goodness, we're not done yet with our intros for the SAW Summit - we did mention it's going t...o be THE event of 2020! Tonight we're introducing you to 3 more incredible SAWers who will be filling us with inspiration after the morning break, in the VALUE Session. And we know there's going to be plenty of fist pumps in the final spot before lunch. ONLINE BUSINESS & the Law - How to Protect & Defend Your Brand Our next speaker is well known in these parts. Kathryn Adams from Hallett Law is a proud supporter of our SAW community & we loved shining the biz spotlight on her during August. She definitely knows how to get her game face on, and is dedicated to helping you achieve success in your business...and then not having someone else swoop in to take a piece of that. All eyes will be glued to the stage, as Kathryn steps us through how to keep the copycats and scammers from coming anywhere near your precious business. Kathryn Adams is Principal Lawyer of Hallett Law, having practiced law for seventeen years in the area of corporate, commercial and employment law. After graduating, Kathryn worked in mid to top tier law firms in both Australia and the United Kingdom. That experience led her to become in-house counsel for multinational recruitment and outsourced labour companies listed on the London and New York stock exchanges, basing herself in Singapore but travelling the region weekly. Upon her return to Australia, she gained academic experience by teaching at universities in the areas of corporate law, commercial law, internet law, and alternative dispute resolution. During this time, she also spent a considerable amount of time working within community legal centres, where she represented a broad range of people on personal legal matters. Kathryn is not only known for her pragmatic legal advice and relaxed approach to client matters, but also known for her colourful personality while providing legal education. After some wild years of being that international corporate lawyer, Kathryn now is based out of the Barossa Valley, both running her own law firm but also currently building her new online legal education platform specifically designed for the Australian wedding and event industry. OMG, after the Value session - the lunch break is going to be an absolute chatfest! Another big thank to Bullys Meats for being the proud sponsor of this session. All I can say is WOW - what a day it's going to be. Head to SA Woman Summit and Awards Night to book your ticket! Xx https://www.facebook.com/events/3871401356205244/

09.01.2022 Many of us are wondering what the remainder of the year will look like. We wonder what challenges will be thrown our way. We crave certainty when the world just isnt capable of offering it. I challenge everyone to power through their story, even if the current chapter was never supposed to be written. - Kathryn

07.01.2022 What do you call a cross between a lawyer and an event planner? You just call her Kathryn. Did you know Kathryn used to run an events company in Broome, Western Australia while working as a lawyer? In fact, she ran that business, worked as a lawyer, and still managed to carry her very pregnant body around town decorating large events like the infamous Broome Mardi Gras.... So it makes sense that when Kathryn helps businesses in the wedding and events space, she understands the complexities at hand.

07.01.2022 Its an incredibly exciting week for Hallett Law. We can confirm that the Celebrant and Wedding Photographer/Videographer terms are officially on their way, but we can also announce the following....

04.01.2022 Kathryn has been formally announced as a finalist in a second category of Ausmumpreneur Awards 2020. What a year this year has been for Hallett Law - and its not over yet.

03.01.2022 Well, what can we say, 2020 has been a wild ride for us here at Hallett Law and for our lovely clients. R U OK Day is a great reminder for everyone to check in on their mates, as adjusting to the new normal can be a struggle. 03.01.2022 Yesterday, the New South Wales Court of Appeal held that a large number of business interruption insurance policies lacked sufficient wording to deny claims connected to pandemic. We outline the case and its implications here: https://hallettlaw.com.au//test-case-for-business-interru/ We strongly advise our clients to review their business interruption insurance policy, and if they have been told that their business interruption insurance does not cover COVID-19 loss, they should revisit this issue with their insurers.

02.01.2022 Its the weekend! And that means enjoying the delights of the Barossa Valley, the home of Hallett Law.

02.01.2022 We will just leave this here..... #changeiscoming

02.01.2022 A very bitter pill to swallow for our South Australian clients. Hallett Law (supporting Event Law as its law firm) will be onboard for the next week to field any concerns event suppliers may have about the current state of play.

02.01.2022 If you are keen to watch the AusMumpreneur Awards tonight, please head to their FB page where it is being live streamed. Wishing all of the finalists the best of luck, but tonight, we are all about #TeamBarossa.

01.01.2022 Feedback is beginning to come in about our new automated Terms and Conditions! And its good news indeed. Our whole aim was to give wedding and event suppliers immediate access to new terms and conditions so that they can focus on the hard work ahead of them in this crazy new COVID-19 era! Celebrants, wedding photographers and videographers, the automation process is open for use now at our online store, found at the link below. For all other event suppliers, we are coming for... you! https://hallettlaw.com.au/online-store/

01.01.2022 Flowering on the vines is happening! Barossa is alive with rejuvenation and growth, both with the vines and local business. Happy Tuesday, everyone!

01.01.2022 LIVE HAPPENING IN 40 MINS: 1. dancing or no? 2. celebrants liable for contact tracing? 3. density taking into account marquees?... Lots of questions asked, lots of NON SPECIFIC, NON-LEGAL advice to be given. Rough day in the office, everyone. Hoping everyone is keeping their head above water.

01.01.2022 Yay! The Online Store is now on the Event Law page, and the good news is that I've dropped the prices a weeeeee little bit so everyone can get their terms up an...d running! The online platform is open to the following suppliers: - Celebrant - Photographer - Videographer The next that will be arriving will be FLORIST. For the above suppliers, you have the choice of going with just your client/supplier terms or paying for a "package" which includes your client/supplier terms, your website terms and conditions, and your privacy policy. I strongly recommend the package, but thats because it makes much more sense financially. For those who aren't in these categories, hold tight. Please do not purchase the "website terms and conditions" and assume that these are your client terms. For my online store, the "website terms and conditions" are those that govern the content sitting on your website (ie. protection of intellectual property, not being responsible for any links posted). Importantly, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me on [email protected] Www.eventlaw.online
