A study by Francisco Ortego et al. explored premature mortality of 1 142 599 Swedish males aged 16-19 years old. Showing low muscular strength in adolescents is an emerging risk factor for major causes of death in young adulthood. High muscular strength participants had a 20-30% lower risk of death by suicide.
