When Emperor Claudius II decided that single men made better soldiers than those with wives and families, he outlawed marriage for young men. Valentine, realizing the injustice of the decree, defied Claudius and continued to perform marriages for young lovers in secret. There... is many more legends about other recognised Saints who defied the emperor and they are all believed to be called Valentine’. 2021 and here we are faced with a very different Valentine’s Day... where, many beautiful couples were forced to cancel their weddings and celebrations .
