18.01.2022 The Mayor of Port Phillip, Bernadene Voss, very kindly came to our concert today to honour 25 years of service of our conductor, the wonderful, Lynette Bridgland. (Please feel free to send your thoughts and memories to Lynette in the comments below). Mayor Voss detailed the history of our community orchestra - now over 70 years old - and then honoured Lynette, highlighting her achievements. ... Lynette was then presented with cards, a gift and flowers from the orchestra. The event was a complete surprise for Lynette! Lynette has always been committed to community music making, which she highlighted in her thank you to the Port Phillip Council, orchestra members and audiences. Lynette is highly respected and dearly loved by the orchestra and audiences. A HUGE thank you to Port Phillip Council and Mayor Voss for their untiring support and commitment for community music making. A very special day indeed!
