24.01.2022 It was a pleasure to join CFA volunteers from Hampton Park Fire Brigade at the launch of the F1 Australian Grand Prix. This Sunday, The Basin Fire Brigade will join their emergency services colleagues for a special lap of honour at the event to say thank you for their work this summer.

24.01.2022 Today, we received the sad news that a fellow Victorian Fire Fighter has died whilst fighting these devastating fires. Our thoughts are with the family, friends and the entire FFMV crew.

23.01.2022 With todays expected weather - dont forget to check in on friends, family and especially the elderly. Look after each other and keep hydrated.

23.01.2022 As many are aware, on the 1st July, a new firefighting organisation started called Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV). Within the Casey area, there are currently two FRV fire stations being one in Hallam, and the other in Cranbourne. Both Brigades will still have Country Fire Authority volunteers (CFA) and will play a vital role in serving the communities of Casey. The rest of Casey area remained CFA; being Berwick, Clyde, Devon Meadows, Hampton Park, Narre Warren, Narre Warren North..., Pearcedale, Tooradin and Warneet. These brigades are 100% volunteers who proudly service their local communities who have received the same training and experience as the paid firefighters. All of these brigades are always looking for extra members, so if you feel like servicing your local community, why not pop on down to one of the above brigades for more information on how to join or visit the CFA website. - Shane Keen Group Officer Casey https://youtu.be/erZvIAis-6Y

22.01.2022 Completely heart breaking news out of NSW. Another RFS Volunteer Fire Fighter has paid the ultimate sacrifice whilst fighting to protect his community. Our thoughts are with the family and friends during the difficult time.

19.01.2022 If you leave children or pets locked in cars - be prepared to return to this. The health and safety of children and pets takes priority over a window! Temperatures can double very quickly.

19.01.2022 Have you ever wondered do I need to replace my smoke alarm? Well - the answer is YES: Smoke alarms have an expiry date and should be replaced every 10 years. ... Check the base of your smoke alarm which will indicate when it should be replaced. If you are unsure or have any questions regarding your smoke alarms, send us a message. 14.01.2022 You may see members of Hampton Park Fire Brigade out training over the coming weeks. It is important for our volunteers to continue training for this coming fire season so we can protect our community. Please note that all training activists are done in a COVID-safe manner.

14.01.2022 From us on the fire ground - wishing you a Happy New Year.....

13.01.2022 Last night Hampton Park responded to a house fire. Crews responded quickly and got the fire under control. All occupants are safe and only minimal damage, however - it was found that the house had a 9v smoke alarm fitted but with no battery. This smoke alarm was NOT a hard wired type with a 9v battery (as back up power source), the 9v battery is its main and ONLY source of power. ... We urge and encourage everyone to check/test your smoke alarms. All smoke alarms should be; - Tested on a regular basis - Installed in correct locations to maximise the effectiveness in accordance with Australian Standards - Be replaced if faulty or not working - be replaced every 10 years - where possible, hardwired to mains power with back up power via 9v battery or Lithium battery Remember - only working smoke alarms save lives

11.01.2022 Devastating and heart breaking news this morning out of NSW. Despite the ongoing and desperate efforts of all involved in fighting the fires, two Rural Fire Service Volunteers have paid the ultimate sacrifice and died whilst on duty. Three other crew members were also injured in this incident and we wish them a speedy recovery. ... Our Thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends and all of the fellow brigade members effected by this terrible tragedy.

07.01.2022 Did you know that winter is the highest risk period for residential fires due to the increased use of heating equipment? Heating equipment includes fixed electrical and gas powered appliances, an open fire, wood heater and portable electrical heaters or those which use gas or kerosene. Having your heaters checked and in good working condition, together with careful and correct use, will greatly reduce the danger these appliances present.... Poorly maintained gas fires could cause deadly carbon monoxide poisoning so there is no greater reason to have your gas heater inspected and serviced to ensure the safety of loved ones. Every household should consider their fire safety practices and examine the potential risks around their home. There are a number of ways people can prepare for winter: Turn off all portable heating and extinguish open fires before leaving home. Ensure heaters are installed, maintained and operated according to manufacturers instructions. Always use a fire screen in front of an open fire. Chimneys and flues should be cleaned annually. Keep clothing, wood and other combustibles at least one metre from the fire or heat source. Children must be supervised near all types of heating. Maintain a safe distance between children and heating. For more residential fire safety information visit cfa.vic.gov.au

04.01.2022 Just what we need.....

03.01.2022 Today we received this lovely gesture from a member of the community. We would like to thank Heather from the bottom of our hearts. The community spirit is amazing as always. We absolutely love what we do and we do it 100% for the community. ... At times we find ourselves doing the difficult or challenging tasks, but on the flip side we also experience the good in people. We cant wait for the day where we can attend community events once again. Till then, we will enjoy the hot drinks - thank you Heather.

01.01.2022 Best way to tackle this heat..... Stay indoors and remain hydrated.

01.01.2022 Over the last few weeks, we have received numerous enquires to join as volunteer firefighters at our Brigade. This is fantastic and we need more, however please keep in mind a couple of things. 1. As you can imagine our Brigade and CFA (along with many other emergency services) are extremely busy at this time, so please be patient when contacting us. 2. There are a number of highly important steps and processes required to become a firefighter, primarily, Training. It is jus...t not a matter of providing a uniform and sending you on a fire truck to fight fires. 3. There are plenty of ways to help support the brigade while not being and opperational fire fighter, such as fundraising, community events etc. We sincerely appreciate members of our community wanting to step up and help their fellow Aussies. Its why we do it. So in the near future we will be running a recruitment info session, and encourage anyone wanting to join us to attend. Stay tuned and thank you for your continued support of our volunteers and all emergency services across the Country. For those that are intersted please head to https://www.cfa.vic.gov.au/volunt/vol-express-your-interest for more information and to register your interest. Thanks
