09.01.2022 Aloha, I’m Lorin, founder of Hanai Wellness. This is perhaps the first time that I have introduced myself.... so here we go. I AM a KaHuna Massage body worker, circle space holder, yogi, hypnobirthing educator, naturopath, teacher of functional movement and creative.... I make stuff I get an idea, have a play and if something comes about, then great. My latest love are my eye pillows. I LOVE to travel and have lived overseas. I am a scorpio, but don’t worry, I am an ‘evolved’ one. Hanai Wellness is my brand. So what does ‘Hanai’ actually mean? Well, there are several meanings of this sweet little (yet BIG) Hawaiian word put simply, it means to nourish. It also translates to the informal welcoming of one into the family, which truly speaks to my heart and aligns with my values and beliefs. Since my teenage years, when asked the question ‘What do you want to be when you grow up’ I’d say, ‘I want to help people’. Truth being, at the time I actually wanted to be a florist (because everyone smiles when they receive flowers right? The perfect job!) Instead I made the influenced mistake to enter the corporate world. The lesson? this wasn’t MY path. The irony of this is that 20 odd years later, I DO work with flowers, AUSTRALIAN BUSH FLOWERS! To support emotional, mental and physical well-being! In fact now all of my work supports emotional well-being. When I feel challenged, I remember the wise light a friend shared with me, ‘only healing can take place when there are 2 people in the room’ meaning each persons healing is ultimately their responsibility, and voila, I knew he was right. My role is to support your self empowerment. So after many years and continual personal development and growth, I feel a more appropriate question to ask someone instead of what they want to be, is who are they and how do they see themselves in the world. So these are my gifts, I want to share them with you. It’s coming up to 3 years since I’ve been on a real adventure Daily, more than once, I recall memories of the care free wonderer.
