Details about the classes are as follows: 1 hour classes, once or twice a week... Types of classes include Mums/Dad and Bubs up to 5, Kids class up to 15 years, 16 years and up (possible for more if the opportunity arises) Pay per class (Prices are cheap and varied for different types of classes, no surprise price, you will know before the class) You have the flexibility to come to one class, or all the classes, and anything in between One on one classes and small private classes available If you express interest in a particular topic you’ll get a message mid week which will inform you when that topic will be held If you missed a class, Catch up sessions are available Able to travel to surrounding suburbs in favour of the class majority and preference Classes are casual, fun and a great place to meet new people and learn Sign Language to communicate with the deaf community and those who may struggle to communicate through verbal means. If so, come join us on the 19th of January at Arana Hills Library at 1:00pm Looking for at least 5-10 people from the ages of 12+ to join the beginners class (min of 5 people for a class to be run) Confirmation of time and location will come depending on your preferences... If you are thinking about joining us, swing me a message to book in. Also, message me a time that would suit you best. The aim is to hold classes at a time that suits the majority of people in the classes Here’s the run down: We offer Mum and Dads and Bubs classes which we offer pregnant woman, expectant parents and children up to the age of 5. These little tikes will have breaks during class to ensure they don’t get overwhelmed. They’ll be signing before they can walk! These children and parents have the opportunity to learn over 300 baby signs! Our next classes are for children ages 6-15. These classes are engaging and fun. We have many activities that include all the different learning styles. These children have the opportunity to learn over 500 signs! Finally our beginners to advanced classes for people ages 16+. We have hands on learning experiences and fantastic environment to have a snack and a coffee and enjoy diving into the world of Auslan. You have the opportunity to learn over 2000 signs while having cake and coffee! We offer Skype classes for those who live at a distance. 19.01.2022 Upon popular request, here is a little introduction about me and my background. Hi My name is Nikki Sutherland. I am the owner and educator of Hand in Hand - Auslan Sign Language. Hand in Hand - Auslan Sign Language has been operational since Jan 2019, and has many successful clients. I have been signing for nearly 10 years, in both work and leisure settings. I have a diploma in early childhood education and care, and have worked in childcare since I was 14. I have taught... Auslan to babies, children and adults of varied capabilities and prior Auslan experience. Hand in Hand - Auslan Sign Language’s mission is to spread inclusivity and awareness throughout the community, and work on closing the gap between the local hearing and deaf communities.
