25.01.2022 Hello, my Chooseday Pooch Peeps let me introduce one very special lady, my Grandma, my friend, and my Princess Margaret. She has her tiara on cos it's her Birthday today and we all wanted to see her sparkle. I would so love it if you would be kind enough to wish her a HAPPY BIRTHDAY from your home of love to hers on this special Chooseday. This is what she wrote about us: Darbi my very favourite Golden Retriever, I wonder Darbi if you know how much joy you bring to me when ...I visit your house.? You are clever enough to know the sound of my car and almost before the gate is open you know that I have a special treat for you. It's only an empty toilet roll, but wagging your tail you charge away making me laugh as we share the fun together. What a great welcome, and when I give your lovely head a pat and look into those beautiful brown eyes my heart feels the warmth that we have just shared. I am so proud of you Darbi, you are a very loving boy, you give back to the community and have assisted in bringing comfort to people in palliative care, and you are now helping to assist children in their ability to read better. You are very special and your nature is one that makes you feel calm, yet you also show us how to join in the fun and feel the joy. Darbi I know your birthday is coming up soon and I think you deserve some extra special treats, I will make a suggestion. This lovely photo of us together is special to me as we celebrate the beauty of life and love. Thank you, Darbi for all the joy you bring into our world by your loving nature. Life is truly happier when we remember to remember to have fun and value our four-legged friends. Thank you for who you are.

25.01.2022 Happy Chooseday Pooch Peeps. Time is everything we have and dont Author Unknown. We all measure time in so many ways, but the one thing we cant do is change what has gone before us, it is irreversible. Not that we all havent felt or thought at one point in time, how we wished we could have said or done things differently. This week lets appreciate time. Let's show our best ways to spend time. Embrace those you get to share your time with. For all those we love and care for at a distance, maybe a phone call will change their day. Many of us are governed by the clock to measure what time we have, let's see if we can find time to turn away from the clock and just be present in time. So how are you wanting to embrace time this week? Happiness wished for all of our Chooseday Pooch Peeps.

25.01.2022 HAPPY CHOOSEDAY EVERYONE. Here is my drum roll, without further a doo let me introduce my Emma . Hey everyone its Emma, Happy Chooseday!!! I was recently talking with my good friend Darbi about how we all have good fortune in so many different ways. For example, Darbi is fortunate to have incredibly loving, giving parents, a great network of friends and opportunities to help people in need. My good fortune is that I get to spend loads of time with dogs, sometimes pets... like Darbi, but mostly rescue dogs. I've spent half of the last 18 months volunteering Thai Street Paws Rescue in southern Thailand, looking after a total of around 100 dogs. Whilst some of their histories are absolutely horrific, involving abuse, starvation, illness, injuries, etc., every single dog has the good fortune to have been rescued by the organisation's founder Tamara Johnston. Tamara works tirelessly in adverse conditions to give these dogs the love they deserve. She relies on volunteers to care for the dogs on a day-to-day basis, and donations both to run the organisation and enable adoptions. Volunteering at Thai Street Paws Rescue is an absolute pleasure, not just because we can positively impact the dogs' welfare but also due to the incredible variety of challenges we face! Other wildlife: snakes (including cobras), scorpions, and millipedes; weather: rain so heavy the pens can be under a foot of water in a couple of hours, winds so strong that heavy shelters and fences are blown over; and a lack of volunteers. It's hard work but totally worth it to make the dogs happy. It would be amazing if you could take a minute to read about Thai Street Paws to understand more about what we do, and even better if you're in a position to help financially, as a volunteer, as a flight volunteer, or simply by spreading the word so that the dogs' good fortune can continue. Thanks so much for taking the time to read this

25.01.2022 Hi my Chooseday Pooch Peeps, thanks for joining in on my adventures each week. I am asking for your thoughts today. Please wish me well, as Mum and Dad have planned for me what I refer to as a busy bloke day. Not really the type of day that tickles my fancy so to speak. Mums told me it's all about you Darbi, all for you. Just sit back and enjoy the ride, there will be treats along the way I am sure. Now seriously I feel a little overwhelmed. Hence why I said wish me well.... I am going to have some serious manscaping done. No escaping the manscaping !!! Yes, folks, I am heading to the beauty parlour a la Groomers for an overhaul. Im like are you joking???? What shampooed, conditioned, de-shedded, toenails trimmed, my fluffy britches and tail all fluffed up, ears cleaned, teeth and gums checked. Im going to seriously require a lot of persuading with this manscaping, beautifying process. Mum and Dad said we will pick you up in a couple of hours, then we will take you to see Uncle Greg the Vet because you need your annual vet check. I reckon after the Groomers my heart may need to be checked. Can you see folks why I am not understanding the concept of fun here? Those treats better be on free flow for me. So my busy bloke day is going to require some major relaxation afterward. I guess all I can leave you with this week is this. Sometimes you just have to go with the flow, you dont know where or how things are going to go, but you just know that they are about to happen, so hang on and try to enjoy the ride, and note to self, dont stress. Happy Chooseday xx

23.01.2022 Hello to Chooseday!!!! .. and all our friends. I am finally going to let you in on a little secret after all this time that my MUM believes I have a little problem in my developmental learning. Well, I dont think its really a problem at all but Mum seems to have a chuckle at me every time I do it. So we are going to put it out there to see what others have to say. You be the judge! So let me set the scene for you. When Mum and Dad leave to go to work, or out for a co...uple of hours or so, the music goes on for me and I get a treat placed inside my Kong and a little one to pull out of it. Now for me, this is where in my defence I think I am rather clever because the treat inside the Kong remains there until someone gets it out for me. I think this shows great restraint. Mum says Darbi why havent you worked it out, that if you squish it, it will pop out for you? So as soon as the gate is unlocked, its a different story. I greet Mum with my wagging tail and irresistible big brown eyes. What they fail to understand is the importance of that treat to me, after all, I have been waiting and waiting for eternity. So its pronto, now, get it out fast !!!! Its all about me and my Kong. Need I say anymore. So friends on this Chooseday I am going to say that if my little idiosyncrasy gives Mum that much of a smile and giggle then I am just going to be me and do what I do best, give and share the love. Hope you got a smile today, and that you get to enjoy many more. Just be yourself !!! Drooly yours Darbi Doo xo

23.01.2022 Happy Chooseday Pooch Peeps it's READY, STEADY, GO, at Sunshine Coast Sports Stadium a la my home turf, Im on a roll with a toilet roll. Yes, you guessed it, who knew you could have so much fun, well I do. It's my favourite nutty run with my sharp manoeuvres, involving precision turning and timing. It takes great skill to train the humans to throw it in such a way that I can catch it, shake it, toss it in the air, tear it, rip it and yes even try to eat it. I am a Goldie... of course. I asked Mum whats your READY STEADY GO, and she said, Darbi I seem to be constantly manoeuvring the obstacle course of life with gusto, and Im no athlete. I said to Mum it's not the speed, its that you keep giving it a red hot go and try to enjoy it along the way. So my friends this week if you are running a marathon, or doing the mad dash, or even your own nutty run, choose to give it you're all. I am secretly going to hope that the next time you see that magnificent toilet roll you might even smile for me. Life, its all part of our ready, steady, go. I have a question for you, who chooses to share their ready, steady, go?

22.01.2022 Hello, my Chooseday friends, I am being bold here and asking you to please EXCUSE me. I have a slight problem so Mum tells me. In my defense, I sometimes feel she makes a BIG deal out of it, and it only happens because I am a Retriever Receiver. Some of you might be aware of this concerning condition called pools of drool leading to severe dehydration so Mum says. I say a gross exaggeration. I guess the thing is folks not much distracts me when I have these fine delicac...ies, morsels of pleasure being offered to me on a silver platter, well the golden hand anyway. Not even the garbage truck in the background can deter me from sheer pleasure. Now I feel a little embarrassed because Mum told me she went looking in the baby section for a bib, and they wouldnt have even fitted around my neck let alone cover my chest line. So we have resorted to the large super-duper absorbent microfibre towel. Now in this video, Mum took of me, just to highlight her concerns, you may be able to see that not even the towel can catch all of my joy (well drool). Mum said, We may have to invest in a bath sheet Darbi. So, my friends, I will pipe up here and say if you have a little joy let it show, let it flow, let it grow, and let it be known. If some of our friends out there have stories to share or parents that have other health concerns feel free to share. No judgment here. Happiness is always wished for all of you.

22.01.2022 Happy Chooseday Pooch Peeps, during the week we had a very special invitation to visit the Sunshine Coasts Queensland Ambulance Operational Centre. WOW, WOW, and more WOW. Why me I asked Mum? She said I dont know mate, we will just go along and be ourselves and give a little kindness to these great men and women. What a time we had! Our friend Danielle said to Mum; We were so lucky to have Darbi come and visit the Maroochydore Operations Centre and say hi to all the disp...atchers. Darbi was very generous with his time and went around and introduced himself to all the staff. As you can see by the pictures there was a lot of love shared and Darbi loved wearing his headset. Darbi certainly felt very much at home in our workplace and there were smiles on everyones faces. We hope Darbi will come and see us again Thank you so much Darbi and his mama Sarah Mum and I just want to give a HUGE shout out to the men and women who are in the profession of saving lives and say thank you to each and every one of you for doing your best every day to keep us safe, keep us well, to preserve life, and ultimately give the gift of giving. Thank you to Danielle in particular for the privilege and for all her wonderful team for making us feel like we were the special ones. Anyone else have a shout out story they would love to share?

21.01.2022 Please help out if you can we would so love to have more Story Dogs teams to empower and enable our future , our children :)

21.01.2022 Happy Chooseday friends it Sarah this week. Things are slowly changing for me, and change is sometimes scary, sometimes good and sometimes not so. When change is knocking at your heart you have to listen, because sometimes if you dont it keeps pounding the door until you do. I look at these 2 beautiful souls before me and I just want to share with you how much my boys mean to me, they are my world. They fill me to the brim, they light up my day, they are my anchor, they ...are my today, my tomorrow, my now and my always, as long as this earth will allow. Time is precious and I am realising that making every day count with these two is my true love, and doing what we can do to share love and kindness. So happy Chooseday my friends. If you have a story or words you want to say, you are always welcome to share with Hands on Paws. Who or what colours your world?

21.01.2022 Happy Choose day our friends what a wonderful adventure we have been having. So many magical moments, and memories to store in our hearts. Birthdays shared with our special friends. Whats a Birthday bash without a photo shoot. Who can say that they get a celebrity crew like this to celebrate their special day of birth. I don't know who looks happier here. Party hats, signage, smiles, golden magical fibres, what more could you want. Thank you to TGO for all the love, laughter, and special moments. We were so spoilt with love. Please help us in thanking Team Golden Oldies for all that they are to so very many of us xoxo

19.01.2022 Hi, my Chooseday Pooch Peeps! Please stay with me this week as I want to do a 2 part story. I am so excited to share my new friend Emma with you. We feel so incredibly fortunate, blessed, that we had the chance to get to know her just for a little bit of time. Maybe the Universe, fate, destiny brought us together for a reason. You see, she is a long way from home. She normally lives in the United Kingdom but her passion is to make a difference, and this landed her in Thai...land volunteering over the last 9 months for Thai Street Paws Rescue Mum and I couldnt believe it when she landed right across the road from us doing some other volunteer work for 6 weeks helping our neighbour out. Emma has really helped us out as well. She has been taking me on long walks, chatting to me on the way about all her companions back home, her Thailand home. Just like our beautiful friends Team Golden Oldies we know how incredibly important it is no matter where we are on this planet that we "be" the difference to dogs in need, that we be a constant. There are many rescues, re-homing, rehabilitating refuges and they all need a voice, need our support so that they can continue to be the best that they can be. To offer shelter, food, medical care, acceptance, belonging and give the best opportunity for change and quality of life we can. I would so just love you all to take a few moments in your day to jump on their web page www.thaistreetpawsrescue.org or their Facebook Page Thai Street Paws Rescue and have a look, maybe even like their page or share it. These beautiful people do it all from the heart and soul. There is no greater gift. I honestly will miss Emma, she has been a great walking buddy for me, Mum and Emma have had some wonderful chats. Could you believe that we could have been so fortunate in this great big world of ours to have met this wonderful soul? Can you guess what Mum and Emma talked about? Why dogs, dogs, dogs and then some more. My mate Emma is going to kindly write a little about her experiences for next weeks post. So stay tuned. I will let you in on a secret it will be a great, an inspiring read. I already know a few little things from our walks and talks. Ems the word!!!! Happiness is wished to everyones heart.

19.01.2022 Happy Chooseday Pooch Peeps, we think this quote really doesnt need a lot added to it by us. It really does speak volumes if we choose to take it on board and try to live by these simple but meaningful words. As a faithful and loyal companion, I said to Mum, I do. I live by this each and every day. I love you every day in every way with all of my soul. I believe you love me with your whole heart. I believe I am cared for, I belong, I matter, I am needed and wanted. I am v...alued. I am worthy of all that is good, kind and true. I believe in you. I do live mostly with every ounce of my being enjoying this very given moment in time because that is all we have, the now. What I said back to her as we sat on the beach together and I looked into her eyes is Mum you need to live more like me, this is the true art of happiness. Mum said, I learn so much from you each day we walk this journey of life. Happiness is wished for all of you, this day and every day.

19.01.2022 Hello, our Chooseday friends its Sarah. I just wanted to do a big shout out to my boy Darbi this week. I am choosing THANKFULNESS again. In particular, you can see Mr. Snuggle Lugs next to me. Courteous photobomb when you dont know whats happening on planet earth. I guess it was a little bit like I get knocked down, but I get up again, youre never gonna keep me down, and so I live to tell the tale. Darbi and hubby are happy I am back on the grid and good to go. What a...mazed me was how much he was just happy to hold my hand, simply just be present with me. There were no demands on me, well I lie, of course, food time. Such a small sacrifice in the bigger picture. He was just content with me as is. Needing really nothing from me, and all I can do is just be in awe once again at these beautiful beings. They truly are incredible. Science, research articles have shown how more and more dogs are being trained up in medical situations and detection work of diseases. Its mind altering to think how their nose is 100, 000 times sharper than ours, with 300 million receptors, wow! Also amazing how they sense our moods, emotions and work in with us. My boy definitely was my bright light this week. So incredibly fortunate to have him, so amazed he chose us. Thanks to my Mr. Darbi, you make my heart smile always. My life is so much better for having you in it. We would love to hear your stories of how your friend has helped you in times of need, illness, loneliness and even picked up on things long before you knew. We can all celebrate thankfulness together.

18.01.2022 Happy Chooseday Pooch Peeps. We hope that wherever you are on our great blue planet, that you embrace the many moments you have in your day. The thought for the day is simply this 1 day = 24 hours, each hour has 60 minutes 60 seconds in each minute and the drum roll is thats a whopping 86 400 seconds in your day. So my friends go share this with as many others as you can and let's see if we can help others to smile in their 86 400 seconds. We can all make a small difference to someones day. So lets use our day wisely for we will never get these moments in time back. Wishing you all that is good, kind, beautiful and true.

17.01.2022 Happy Chooseday friends its Sarah this week. Meet helpful Harry well NOT SO. Here I am telling Darbi, now listen, son, you only have one task to do.. stay put, have a nice long siesta and let us get on with the myriad of jobs after all this rain we have had. Yay sunshine, who doesnt love sunshine on your day off. Get the washing on, get it dry, bring it in, iron it. Mop, clean slobber marks, vacuum the magical fibres. While thats happening the grass is drying out so... you can mow. Now you know who has a nice new piece of green to play, poo and wee on. Seriously Mr you were really no help at all, but we love your effort Darbi "Doo Little". So you scored a 10/10 for cuteness overload, serious non-compliance, and for always, always making us smile. Happy Chooseday friends. Who else has helpful little Harrys or Harrietts. Post a pic and tell us your story. So the moral of the story is ?????

15.01.2022 Hi there my Chooseday Pooch Peeps. I have a wonderful friend to introduce to you this week. This is Archie, you havent had the pleasure of meeting this amazing soon to be a 13-year-old teenager on the 28th of September. Archie came to stay with us for a few days and well we had a couple of good old chin wags about life, love, and happiness. What a colourful chap he is with a life that has been spent in service. You see folks, my mate, Archie is now a Retired Guide Dog Ambass...ador. He has spent his life in Public Relations. He was sharing with me how he started off in the program of Guide Dogs and was in training to be someones eyes when an injury to his leg meant that he may not be best suited to enabling someone given his limitations. This didnt stop him and a career change placed him into this public relations role which he mastered successfully for Guide Dogs Queensland. Joy, who is Archies custodian and himself helped to raise over $150, 000 for Guide Dogs over a period of 9 plus years. I said to him, mate thats a lot of engaging with the public, and he said to me yes Darbi it is, but its all about commitment, empowering, teaching, living, loving, learning, walking the walk, and giving to others. I thought to myself that is one heck of a life of service. So in my eyes as a senior boy and my friend, you rule the world, and you are a legend to me. It's important we honour our seniors and we look after them because they all have so much to teach us. Take time to make time to listen and to learn while we have their presence with us. Embrace your Chooseday our friends, and please be ever so kind and wish Archie boy an early birthday wish. Happiness to all.

14.01.2022 Hello, our friends its Chooseday again, where does the time go? We were fortunate enough to spend some time in the sunshine, feel the warmth, the kiss of the sea breeze, and enjoy the many colours of the afternoon. As we took time to stop and watch, Mum started with what I thought was like a game called, 20 questions. Mum sat there and said Darbi here we go let's think of 20 Questions, Ill go first, then you follow. Hmm, Mum, you are a little bit random at times . 1.... Are they happy in heart? 2. Do they have someone who truly loves them? 3. Do they know how fortunate they are to be able to seize their day in the way they choose to? As for me, my questions were simple 4. Can I please swim out there to meet you? 5. Do you have fish or smelly bait on your line or in your boat for me? 6. Mum, there are fur kids on the other side, can we go play? As you can see friends, we didnt quite get to our 20 Questions and need your help to think of some more. What Mum said to me as we walked back was you know Darbi we really dont know sometimes whats on the other side of us, or whats right in front of us. We see externally, feel and absorb externally which in itself is good, but there is so much more to the inside that we may never know. As we go about our days and our weeks we will see and meet random people in life and in random places, never really knowing that person, but thats ok. For that very moment in time, they were present in the here and now, and thats what matters. Maybe they made us think, maybe they made us smile, maybe they glanced, maybe their eyes said something else. Who really knows, because there will always be more than 20 Questions. Happy Chooseday everyone, and happiness in heart.

14.01.2022 Happy Chooseday my friends, Sarah here I have so loved sharing the little bit of wisdom that I have gained in my lifes journey expressed through the eyes of Darbi. These posts may have only been weekly but I have tried my best to encourage everyone to choose their best life. Because of my work and volunteer commitments not to mention family commitments I feel I can longer do these posts justice and give them the time I so want to give or invest in them. I would rather fin...ish them on a high than let them lose their value. After much consideration I have decided to finish the Hands on Paws page. This decision has not come easy, there was much mental ping pong and turmoil. But sometimes you need to do what is right for you. I would like to thank people for journeying with me, for encouraging and supporting me. For believing in me. For giving me their time and sharing their lifes journey. I want to share a special thanks to Team Golden Oldies and Lisa for ALWAYS being my No.1 advocate both in my personal and professional life. Lisa and her tribe of love plus my husband and Darbi have been my most wonderful friends through it all. Why I might be closing this page I would just like to say that behind the scenes ALL of me, the essence of what I am about, and who I am, will continue to be a passionate dog lover. I will continue to be a voice for the voiceless. I will continue to have my Hands on Paws as I truly believe that our beloved fur friends will always have something to teach us if we take the time to truly listen. In many ways the quote from A. D Williams When I look into the eyes of an animal, I do not see an animal . I see a living being, I see a friend. I see a soul represents who and what I am. It is what I felt with every dog I touched and what I will continue to feel as long as I will journey on this earth.

13.01.2022 Happy Chooseday Pooch Peeps. Im so, so happy, well incredibly ecstatic, soon we are about to embark on an adventure, 4 more days and we are off. Were all going on a summer holiday, no more working for a week or two, fun and laughter on our summer holiday. No more worries for me or you for a week or two, were going where the sun shines brightly, were going where the sea is blue We get to play happy families, the 3 of us. Precious moments, happy trails and tales. See you all soon folks, you never know where we might pop up. To be continued with love ..

13.01.2022 Happy Chooseday Pooch Peeps. We hope you have had a great week since we checked in with each other. I am an extremely happy laddie because I got to travel with my favourite pack, yep Mum and Dad, ALL weekend. Of course, this got us thinking. Is it the places we go in life or is it those we journey with? Maybe, it's those that are along the way, those at the end of the road, or at the beginning of it all. We believe in all of the above and feel very fortunate to have wond...erful, kind, caring, loving, giving people in our travels. Its the continuum of this travel that adds value and meaning to life. You see for me this weekend I was given opportunities to go free range, nutty run with all the other 4 legged fur kids at the beach after my marathon swimming training. While I was eager to go adventure with them, and I did for a few moments, something made me look back! Where I was heading too wasnt as important as those I wanted to be with. I knew right at that moment where I really wanted to be, back with my pack. I left my other fur kid friends and swam right back out to where my family was. So who are your travel companions, who colours your world in this journey called life?

13.01.2022 Happy Chooseday Pooch Peeps my week has been a little governed by Mother Nature. As some of you might know we live on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia and we have this little saying its sunny one day and perfect the next. It has been a mixed bag the last couple of days as you can see by my photo shoot session. It got me thinking though, just because the weather has had a few hiccups it doesnt mean I need to let it change my optimism, my mindset. I dont need to ...let rainy days and grey skies cloud my mindset with negativity. I can still play and dance in the rain, I can smile, I can feel the rhythm, play in the puddles and let it all wash over me. As for the beams of sunshine, how can we not smile and tilt our face to the sky and say thank you for the warmth it brings to our souls. So, friends, this week lets choose to take each day as it comes, even with the hiccups and do our best to smile at it, because at the end of the day whats in our hearts is what really matters not whether it is sunny or raining. Happiness is wished for all of our friends.

12.01.2022 Happy Chooseday Pooch Peeps. I’m so, so happy, well incredibly ecstatic, soon we are about to embark on an adventure, 4 more days and we are off. We’re all going on a summer holiday, no more working for a week or two, fun and laughter on our summer holiday. No more worries for me or you for a week or two, we’re going where the sun shines brightly, we’re going where the sea is blue We get to play happy families, the 3 of us. Precious moments, happy trails and tales. See you all soon folks, you never know where we might pop up. To be continued with love ..

11.01.2022 Happy Chooseday Pooch Peeps. What a cracker of a weekend it has been for me. I was thoroughly spoilt by sun, sea, swimming, running, playing and soaking up the many smells. This was then followed by a siesta and a therapeutic massage to renew my exhausted muscles. I dont think I could have wished for my senses to be more filled up than I experienced. It got me thinking. How is it that something that is so free for me and literally right out my back door can bring me so much joy. Simply enjoying the pleasures that are right there for me, right at my feet. My greatest wish for you this week is to step out your back door and embrace all that your playing arena has to offer you. Look up, look down, look around I am certain that you will have your senses filled up as well. Wishing you joy as you journey.

10.01.2022 Happy Chooseday my Pooch Peeps we so hope you have had a wonderful week. Gosh, we did, between having a birthday, swimming, Story dogs, meeting new people, sharing new experiences, it has been a blast. Thanks for all the love on my Birthday. However as you can see by the photo it was absolutely necessary to have some downtime from all the fun, and I felt it was important to supervise Mum in her decluttering to ensure she did it properly, and stay on the task. Did you know... decluttering is so therapeutic? A cleansing process, a way of making room for the new, for shifting and shaking things up, for renewal, for letting go, creating organisation and liberation. As I lay there watching Mum, I felt she was getting a bit too excited about decluttering I wanted to jump right out of this zealous cleansing process and go protect my toy box and my treat shelf in case they were next on the list. Oh no, which way do I go? Have any of our friends out there experienced the frenzy of decluttering? I must let you know that no harm came to my toy box or the treat shelf. This in itself leads me to wish you all the happiest of Choosedays, may your heart be happy.

10.01.2022 Happy Chooseday friends. I have another little part of me I want to share with you, I love Music. Ever since I was a young laddie Mum would put on beautiful music for me to listen to when she had to go out for a bit. So its only natural for me to think who doesnt love a little music to touch and feed their soul? I love a whole range from Jazz, Native American music and flutes, to Tibetan to some modern stuff as well. Mum tells me there is music for every reason and season..., so when she is doing the housework there has to be some groovy stuff playing. I just look at her when she gets her dance moves on, and say thank goodness no-one can see you. When she is massaging clients its sort of meditation music, me I just go to sleep Zen out and even snore sometimes. As we know music is now widely embraced to assist those with physiological and psychological concerns with proven therapeutic effects. Helping and aiding dementia patients, post-traumatic stress syndrome, autism, and even depression.Music can evoke such a range of emotions and I am thankful that the music I get to enjoy brings me happiness, comfort, peace, and relaxation. It really is a dog's life. I would love for you to share with me this Chooseday what you love to listen too, share a tune or a song. I can get Mum to add it to my playlist.

08.01.2022 Hello, our Chooseday Pooch Peeps as you know we are very good friends with Team Golden Oldies This last couple of weeks have been a little rough and tough with the loss of precious souls, always a reminder that life just seems way too short. Mum needed to pause the stopwatch to reflect, as she really feels the loss quiet deeply in her own way. We took a beautiful walk somewhere different this week and it gave us time to reflect on how important it is to just embrace the mo...ments we do have. As for me folks, just like my other canine friends we live in the now whats happening for me right this minute, is it a love fest, is it food glorious food, is it something I am being asked to do? I am all about the now and savouring each and every moment. That doesnt mean I dont dream and reflect on what has happened when Im asleep. I too have vivid memories. As for you guys and gals, Im not sure that you are always present in the now. Maybe you are worried about the events of yesterday, or the pile of things on the to-do-list, or you are trying to foresee how you can shuffle and jiggle the multitude of things that require your attention. We as your friends watch and observe you, not always understanding your dilemmas. So this quote that sits beside me, here while Im at the end of the jetty, is my little message for all of you this beautiful Chooseday. Have a look at this to-do-list and choose something on here that makes your heart smile and maybe makes other hearts smile as well. Share the gift of making the many moments of life count. We choose to believe that we owe it to those gone before us to embrace each day that we have. Our friends from all walks of life left their mark of love on this planet, we still have time to follow their kindness and goodness, so let's go do this. Happiness in heart to all of you xo

08.01.2022 Happy Chooseday our friends. Mum and I are soaking up the sun, feeling the warmth and the light touch our face, the cool breeze kissing our faces. We are focusing on simple this week because we can all value the simple pleasures in love and in life. Sometimes its a matter of just STOPPING! Sometimes even taking yourself to the source. May our hearts be full. Remember to share your Chooseday love with those that matter most to you. Keep them close as no two days are ever the same. Embracing simplicity from our hearts to yours.

08.01.2022 Happy Chooseday our friends. This week Mum and I want to give a HUGE SHOUT OUT, wait for it drum roll please, Buddina State School. These students and teachers went all out for Story Dogs, and for us in their Dress for a Decade Day. We are so incredibly THANKFUL. You see once a year, schools that have Story Dog teams that visit, are asked to give a gold coin donation. The money that is raised on the day goes to assisting Story Dogs to buy more books, provide h...elp to train and support more Story Dog volunteers into schools. This, in turn, allows Story Dogs to visit more schools and therefore reach out to more children. We love our School, our students and the teachers we are involved with. We were so amazed at the dress-ups that the children and teachers paraded around in. We had Michael Jackson, Elton John, Bob Marley, Cindi Lauper, and a hundred other fabulous and funny characters. I even adorned my little awesome pants to give them a wiggle and say how wonderful they all were. Buddina State School were so much involved in this day, and as a united front, they managed to raise a whopping $794.50 for Story Dogs. Our small words of THANKYOU do not seem enough, but it is all we have. Will you help say thank you to our wonderful school, and to the beautiful students. Darbi and I enjoy listening, reading, and interacting together with our friends every week, creating magical moments.

08.01.2022 Happy Chooseday our friends. You know the expression all good things must come to an end well it is sort of true, but not true. A wonderful time of love and experiences was embraced while on our holiday. Yes, it has come to an end, and yes it is back to the grindstone, hum, drum of working life for Mum and Dad again but. The great feelings felt and embraced leave precious memories forever, and they are not temporary. So some good things do linger on and on. Mum wants... to share a couple of highlights in particular as you can see by the photo. As some of you may know our special time Team Golden Oldies is ALWAYS AMAZING. Due to circumstances this year we have not been able to visit as often, so it was incredible to have this very special time with our friends. Mum said words fall short when she tries to convey her love for Poppy. Her beautiful soul is a continuation of life, of all that has gone before and all that is yet to unfold. She is the past, the present, and the future, she is a beautiful shape that is ever-changing. Mum said to have not touched her for a year and then have all that precious time and connection with her again was truly indescribable. For her to allow this, shows Mum and tells her that she is slowly mapping out her new pathway with the love and guidance of Lisa, Ian, and her brothers and sisters. Poppy you are so very precious, so very brave, and so very loved. Next was a hint of sadness for Mum, felt momentary at not seeing or feeling the loveable goofball, naughty but nice Nev. He has and will always have a special room in my Mums heart. While his physical presence was not there, a beautiful joy will live on, because my Mum has the privilege of being in his book Nev and his Bare Belly. Nev and my Mum had a special touch of love. Thank you, Lisa, for sharing Nev, his love, his life, and his legacy. OUR greatest wish is for all of the Golden Oldies storys and of course, let's not forget Indys Spot of Bother to live on and on and on. May their legacy travel far and wide, touching the lives of many. So my friends please help me with this wish by sharing love. This will be the best Chooseday present you will ever share in, so jump across and visit https://teamgoldenoldies.com/tgobookstore Much love always xx

07.01.2022 Happy Chooseday Pooch Peeps I have had a visitor this week, to come and play with me, walk with me, dine with me, sleepovers, and do house patrol. Yes, friends, you might remember my cousin Lara. We had Camp Run-A-Muck back in January, having so much fun, we thought wed do it again. This last week we have had some really heavy downpours, days of rain which meant that our outdoor activities were a little restricted. Mum wasnt really happy about us playing in puddles, or sit...ting out in the rain, particularly me. Cousin Lara was a lot more refined, whereas I thought it was totally fine to sit out there and eat my bone. Go figure. So we decided that they had to find indoor games for us. They had to let our stuffies come inside, we played jump onto the bed and off the bed, we played round and round the coffee table to see who could get the closest to the snuggle seat. We played the guardian of the kitchen. Who could get under Mums feet? On the last two days our prayers were answered, all of ours, I do believe. The sun came out and dried up the ground, the wind helped to blow away the clouds and the blue sky was beautiful and bright. We got to go on long walks, play zoom zooms around the yard, tackle our stuffies, sunbake, chillax and relax. Life is good. It really is the simple things that can make us smile. Thanks, cousin La La for keeping me company this week. Go choose the simple pleasures, whats yours?

05.01.2022 Hi friends, Sarah here. Its been nearly a year since I last visited Team Golden Oldies and much has changed with the passing of Nev and Mollie. Although saddened, I had the joy of meeting the Lovely Leo, Terrific Tommy, and the Beautiful Billy Boy. It is a true joy to be surrounded by eight beautiful souls each with their own little personalities. One cant help but smile. How blessed am I ? Love Sarah

05.01.2022 Hi, friends its that time of the week again where we catch up and wish everyone the happiest of Choosedays. This week I am starting to get into my snuggle-fest body conditioning regime, as its starting to get cooler as our winter approaches. I know, I know I have a fur coat but there is something just superbly delicious about snuggling up and going to my la la land, dreaming of all that has touched my day, and all that I yet dare to dream. So this week we are setting a Choo...seday challenge!!! Why dont you give yourself a bit of self-love and snuggle up with your best buddy, or grab a book, grab some alone time to reflect on all that has made you smile, and dream more dreams that are yet to unfold. You see snuggling is for everyone. Its self-love all of its own that can be shared with those closest to your heart. Its a special connection and bond that gives us a place of happiness for that moment in time, providing so many health benefits. So hip hip hooray for snuggling, I am off to master my regime. Love to hear or see your best snuggle-fest ideas. Who is accepting the challenge?

03.01.2022 I received something very special to me and I just want to share with you. Most people that really know me, know I don't like putting me out there. Nothing gives me more joy than to know I made a little difference, so thankful to you Norman for your trust, and to you Mel for your belief in what I do! This is my gorgeous boy Norman. For some reason, in an unexplained fashion, he woke up yelping with certain movements. The vet prescribed anti-inflammatories, but after two day...s of them, there was no change and he was still in pain every time he got up. This lead me to call Sarah and I explained the problem. As soon as she arrived and touched him, he relaxed. He laid on his side and let her gently massage each and every muscle. She found each area that was tight and ever so gently, reading him the entire time, slowly massaged his muscles. He ended up so relaxed that he became completely submissive and lay on his back with his legs in the air. (Something he couldnt do since the pain). After Sarah left, he had one more episode of pain and then it was all gone completely! His movements became easier again and he no longer yelped at all. Im so grateful for you Sarah and your beautiful gift of canine touch. You absolutely made the difference we needed. Love Mel and Norman xxx See more

02.01.2022 Happy Chooseday our friends. Hope you have all had a great week. Even if it hasnt been that fabulous we hope that you have found moments to smile, and feel grateful for what has made a difference. Mum was doing a trip down memory lane this week as she was sorting through some photos, and as you can see she has chosen to show off some of my many faces. She started to tell me that the light in my eyes has always been a strength, a compassion, goodness, a love beyond measure. ...Oh, Mum, you are laying it on a bit thick, but thankyou. I guess the thing is I am just me, and I am so glad you love me for me. Guess when we choose to look beyond the outside, go underneath the layers, or the many masks..... that is when you really see through eyes of compassion and thats a whole new language of love, you see the heart. This week friends we would love you to CHOOSE to post a pic of the ones you love and let us know what you see and feel. Happiness is always wished for our Chooseday friends.

01.01.2022 Hello, my Chooseday Pooch Peeps. Do you recall a few weeks ago I shared my secret fetish, that is my love of toilet rolls ?? I have been a busy boy. I have been sharpening and harnessing my skill sets. Well, I firmly believe that whats one man's rubbish is another man's treasure, and in my treasure, I have a pleasure. I am a little bit chuffed. My message is pure and simple if you love something to embrace it. It doesnt matter what or how it appears to anyone else. It doesnt matter that you may not fit into a mold, a square peg in a round hole! Love who you are and what you love, and never apologise for the joy it gives you. Happiness my friends always.

01.01.2022 Happy Chooseday Pooch Peeps I just wanted to share with you how much I am loving my new adventure at school this year, with my new found friends. It is such a special programme that gives so very much to children. Mum and I were amazed last year at the huge difference it made to 5 little lives. Its all about their confidence, and learning to love reading. There is no fear, no judgement. You see it is not about the words being pronounced correctly first time, or maybe even ...completely understood, it does not matter if there is a stumble. It's about the journey and creating an environment that is safe. It is an invitation to explore the colourful world of books, that bring life and meaning to their world. This year we aim to make a difference for 4 special little people in Grade 2. After the initial meet and greet frenzy of so many happy little faces, and their teachers, I get to lay down and listen to beautiful stories,. I also receive loads of pats, and then if I listen particularly well and dont snore, I get a few treats from my new found friends. The Story Dogs programme really works, and we are so proud to be part of this, sponsored by Team Golden Oldies. Mum and I have also shown the children the Team Golden Oldies Children's Books, and we are hoping we might be able to get them into the school library this year. All children would then have the chance to read these great stories. For now, we will continue with the awesome books that the programme provides. Wouldnt it be wonderful if we could have more Story Dog teams in schools so no child would ever be left behind in literacy? To top it off, it would be fabulous to give children an appreciation and a healthy respect for senior dogs, through beautifully written books that are about love, and have so many other incredible life lessons. Happiness to you this day, and for days to follow.
