25.01.2022 As it's Road Safety Week in Queensland we have put together four great reasons for slowing down to 40km/h in a school zone. 1. It's safer to walk, ride and cr...oss the road near school 2. It will make no difference to your trip time 3. Safe school zones makes for happier and healthier communities 4. Less car emissions. Saving the planet! See more

21.01.2022 Today we had the privilege of listening to guest author and animator, Joe Brumm, speak to us about all things ‘Bluey’!!! The children were fascinated to hear about the evolution of the Aussie cartoon, most of which is set in Ashgrove. Joe told stories of ‘The Creek’ episode being inspired by the St John’s Wood creek and ‘Takeaway’ being set in a restaurant much like The Golden Crown at Ashgrove. We even got to view a yet to be released episode called ‘Baby Race’. Joe’s messages of perseverence, having fun and plenty of play will stay with the staff and students of St Finbarr’s for a long time to come! Thank you for this wonderful opportunity, Joe! What’s your favourite Bluey episode? #bluey #joebrumm #ashgrove

21.01.2022 Today’s staff professional learning day was brimming with rich experience, reflection, dialogue and learning. The day began (for some!) at 5:15am with a sunrise walk up Mt Coot-tha, followed by a staff formation workshop focused on our theme of ‘a connected community’ and concluded with a professional learning session about extending high potential learners. What a full and fabulous day! #aconnectedcommunity #lifelonglearners #grateful

17.01.2022 Two of our students, Matilda and Nick, recently starred in a video produced by Seqwater to promote water science. The students demonstrated a water filtration science experiment which involved building a water filter and explaining it. This video will be used by Seqwater to promote water science and encourage children to do some water experiments at home. Make sure you keep an eye Seqwater Facebook page for the video premiere!

08.01.2022 As #AConnectedCommunity St Finbarr’s is assisting to raise money for Footprints for Brain Cancer this week by selling footprints badges. This charity holds a very special place in our hearts and with the restrictions this year the walk wasn’t able to go ahead we wanted to make sure we still found a way to support such a worthy cause.
