25.01.2022 To all our valued Clients, Today I completed the WHO respiratory occupational health and safety course. We will publish our detailed public health policy on our website in the coming days, the outline of which is as follows: 1. We reiterate the need to maintain social distancing when visiting clients.... 2. We are regularly performing personal hygiene and hand cleansing as per the WHO guidelines. 3. We ask that wherever possible, clients pay via direct deposit. Please place any cash payments in an envelope. 4. Any cash handled will be sanitised. 5. Tools and equipment are sanitised after each visit. 6. Wherever practically possible, works completed will be fully sanitised. 7. Face mask will be worn if requested or when visiting clients considered to be in the vulnerable category. 8. Please do not be offended if we enquire about your heath status prior to arriving. 9. We are now offering a contact-less quote service, via SMS, MMS and email. 10. We have suspended the issuing of business cards and hard copy quotes/invoices. These will be emailed where necessary. 11. Be assured that no Handy Management employee or business partner will initiate client contact if experiencing symptoms, no matter how remote.

15.01.2022 Final photos of the bathroom renovation disaster fix post from a few weeks ago...

15.01.2022 Bathroom renovation disaster! This ensuite was done by a professional builder 4 years ago. Two big problems...Firstly they failed to use an appropriate primer sealer before painting the cieling hence the paint is peeling off in sheets. Secondly the plasterer used cornice cement to stick the cornice up to the tiles. This is a big no-no. Cornice cement does not stick to tiles. In this application use cornice cement on the cieling side and adhesive sealant on the tile side. Thes...e two problems combined caused the cornice to drop, pulling the paint away and pulling the sheeting down along one side. This is where they made another error... The cieling sheet was nailed in, not screwed and only with a few nails. I guess they thought the cornice would hold it up! Its not nice when someone pays top dollar for a bathroom Reno from so called professionals only to have the job completed by amatuers. I have stripped out the old cornice and paint. New cornice going in soon along with a proper paint job. Those pics to follow See more

13.01.2022 Day 2 on the dry rot job in Kensington. We had to replace front beam. Not only was it rotted, upon consultation with the span tables it was undersized! Also found post on other side rotted inside despite looking perfectly fine on the outside. Job keeps getting bigger. New posts going in next week.....Big thanks to my good friends and North Shore Timber and Hardware for having the very substantial LOSP beam in stock

11.01.2022 Big demo and strip out at Kirrawee over the past week on long standing balcony enclosure and atrium. This opened up a magnificent view of The Royal National Park. This was followed by batton replacement, repaint in fresh colour and install of new Greca Bronze roofing

10.01.2022 New posts installed with correct size front beam to suit span. Luckily didnt have to replace the end floor joists as they were cantilevers from internal floor. Just cut rot out and fitted new piece, backplated from the rear and nicely flashed by Greg. not an ounce of dry rot in this balcony now!

09.01.2022 Small job today. Build and install of custom gate to keep the pets out. Interesting part of this photo is the retaining wall. Appears it wasnt correctly waterproofed prior to back fill so moisture ingress is a problem and no paint will stay stuck. Only 2 options 1. Screen it 2. Strip back and colour render but that may also suffer adhesion issues due to the moisture.

09.01.2022 What about this beauty?
