24.01.2022 Hanging Rock Heather does it again! Yesterday at the Numurkah Autumn Beef Show, Heather was Grand Champion Female and Supreme Exhibit. Speckle Parks were the dominant breed shown, with 23 of the 56 exhibits. Junior Champion Heifer was Jackungah Eileen; Glengarry War Hero was Junior and Grand Champion Bull. Jackungah won the Group of 3, Black Diamond won the Group of 2. A great day for our breed. Congratulations to our handling team, led by Paul Hourn, Daniel Porter, Paris Hourn, Mia Hourn, Jack Ellis and Kelly Steel.

21.01.2022 CHAMPION RESULT FOR SPECKLE PARK SALE This bull, called Hanging Rock Hugo, took out the champion bull title at the National Speckle Park Sale in Scone at the we...ekend. He was offered by the Hanging Rock Speckle Park Stud in Newman, Victoria, and sold for $9000. His breeder, John Ellis, could not be prouder of the achievement. He has been breeding the cattle for 11 years and sells the beef alongside his wine. The real excitement of selling that bull is that we bred him and we bred his parents too. Hi Jack is one of only three of the first drop of calves in the show circuit sired by the now famous Minnamurra Leander L81. 18.01.2022 Our moment of triumph - and the greatest thrill yet in our Speckle Park lives. Yesterday, at the Adelaide Royal Show, our fabulous young bull - Hanging Rock Hi Jack - was judged third in the Interbreed Champion Bull. The judges had Angus as their clear favourite followed by Red Angus - and then, our boy. Huge congratulations to Mia Hourn, who kept Hi Jack standing up perfectly as the judges circled. And huge thanks to Paul Hourn and Jack Ellis who put him in the ring looking sooo fantastic.

16.01.2022 What a day we had yesterday! Heather took out Senior & Grand Champion Speckle Park Female in Sydney. There's no doubt she's a very special cow. There's no doubt she takes after her Dam, AAA Lavender, who ended up taking out Reserve Miss World Speckle Park 2018. Both of them now have a long list of awards to their names. This is probably Heathers last show so it's great to see her go out on a high.

He won Champion Senior Bull, our best result for the day, and led th...e team to win Best Group of 3. We had some other class wins, notably the youngest heifer class, which was hotly contested. 02.01.2022 First show of the year! And our first outing since March last year. It’s nice to be back! Congratulations to the Lang Lang Show and especially to Fiona Glover ...and her Committee. It was a great show, judged exceptionally well by Courtney Hazeldene. For us, it was the biggest team we have ever taken to any show, a massive 30 head. That included entries from our stud, but also Blueridge, Epic, Garrick Hill, Glengarry, M &G and MH Speckle Parks; PCC Shorthorns, MA Murray Greys and Peter Mill’s Shorthorns and Poll Herefords. Hanging Rock Speckle Parks came home as Most Successful Exhibitor, notably winning Grand Champion Female (Hanging Rock Heather P01) and Reserve Senior Bull (Hanging Rock Hemingway Q07). Glengarry Speckle Park won Reserve Junior bull, beaten by Simmental: Mount Ararat Quantum - which went on to win Supreme Exhibit. Special thanks and congratulations go to our handler team, led by Paul Hourn and Daniel Porter, with Jack Ellis, Molly Henderson, Declan Nitz, Mia Hourn, Paris Hourn, Kelly Steele and Helen Henderson.
