20.01.2022 Last week I was distracted from Hangin' by preparations for my own hanging my series of 'Tractor' portraits. My new website, devoted to my own art, is coming soon but, for now, here's a snapshot of my subject and the final painting.
16.01.2022 Having a much needed coffee yesterday at Mockingbird Cafe in North Fitzroy, after a Hangin', found myself gazing at this terrific picture wall. Very sharp. (Good coffee, too. Hard to find in the afternoon.)
16.01.2022 When Hangin' is on your mind, pictures seem to be hanging everywhere. Was minding my own business when this tram rolled by yesterday.
15.01.2022 Then, of course, there was our NSW holiday in Feb for Rene's 30th. Did some little pictures up there too and was told, "What gets painted in Sydney stays in Sydney."
13.01.2022 My highlight this week was hanging a big 'un. Standing 2.7 metres high and weighing around 80 kilos, this fabulous John Longstaff portrait took careful preparation and the use of heavy steel brackets to secure it safely on the wall at an inner-Melbourne home. Engineering contribution by the client and a hand with the heavy lifting from friend Norm.
12.01.2022 Just did a Hangin' with a difference, plus a little tension, thanks to the delicate nature of the artworks to be hung. Zuster Furniture an all Australian family-owned Richmond manufacturer is having a sale. Themed on their Dutch heritage, it required 40 individually painted dinner plates to be arranged forming a large Delft-like scene. Which is where I came in. It was tricky work waiting for the adhesive hangers to dry but no breakages have been reported (at last count).
11.01.2022 All this hangin' gives me the urge to paint. Lately I've been concentrating on still life practice when staying at the Lorne beach house. Painting with Celeste and cousin John's daughter, Jessica.
09.01.2022 Last week the only hangin' going on here was above the fireplace. Back to work on January 22. Happy Xmas and New Year.
