08.01.2022 Mother Nature can be so kind and very cruel. After recent rains, farmers across NSW have been looking to harvest the best crop in years. Unfortunately this afte...rnoon a number of fires started as a result of lightning - just as farmers prepare to harvest. A single hectare can be worth at least $1000 to a farmer. Fires this afternoon burnt as much as 500ha in just a couple of hours. Were it not for the rapid response of farmers, firies and water bombers the losses could have been far worse.
