24.01.2022 There are days where I need you more than you need me.. There are days when I am so tired, so discouraged and frustrated with everything that I just feel like lying on your lap and closing my eyes while you are running your little fingers through my hair. There are days when your eyes are so wise and you know me so well that you just keep looking at your dolls while I'm frantically making food, cleaning and tidying up.... There are days when a hug from you squeezes my heart so hard that it gives me a new energy even when I was about to give up. You know so well on my good and bad days.. You are undoubtedly the one who knows me best, the one who listened for nine months the sound of my heart, the one I loved without knowing, the one who I wanted more than anything, the one who made me be reborn as a mother and as a woman. 23.01.2022 Happy Hippo 7th Educator Conference March 2021 Today our teams of educators from all sites came together for several workshops and professional development. Our early learning centres teamed up for a professional development on supporting and guiding little children with big emotions and challenging behaviours. ... Supporting children with vision and hearing impairment along with craft and language. At Happy Hippo our number 1 aim is to always support and encourage our team to grow and become the best educators they can be. The past month our team have been focusing on inviting environments aswell as supporting and guiding our children to self regulate their emotions. Thank you to our wonderful chefs for their contributions and show casing your talents and skills for catering today. 20.01.2022 One in five families with a child under five years, surveyed by the Royal Children's Hospital, has had a routine vaccine delayed since the start of this pandemic. I can understand why. We've all been staying home to stay safe, and some parents are worried about their children potentially catching the virus. But from the get-go, our dedicated local GPs and medical clinics have had COVIDSafe plans in place keeping patients, families and staff safe.... And now, they're delivering new, innovative ways to help Victorians get immunised including drive-through clinics. The last thing we want to see off the back of this pandemic are outbreaks of vaccine preventable diseases like whooping cough, measles and chickenpox. If our community as a whole doesn't stay up-to-date with vaccinations, we risk our herd immunity. And the Victorians who rely most on this newborn babies, people with severe allergies, and those with weakened immune systems will be seriously at risk. Keeping immunisations up-to-date will protect our children now. And protect our community for the future.
