21.01.2022 Were interested in understanding how Coronavirus is impacting the mental health of our nation. Your answers will help guide the information and support we provide to community.

21.01.2022 Such a sad story, a reminder of how serious a food allergy can be.

19.01.2022 This is brilliant news! I Quit sugar has made millions for Sarah Wilson by promoting products and eating patterns that are not healthy and have no basis. Healthy eating is about balance, moderation and variety and so much more sophisticated than any one nutrient. In addition, many of her recipes and food products are full of sugar, though it is not called 'sugar', rice malt syrup is just one favourite along with many other unhealthy ingredients loaded with sugar and saturated fat.

17.01.2022 We have moved into our new home at Suite 4, 380 Payneham Rd, Payneham. We are loving the feel of this space that we share with Walk Talk Play Speech Pathology.

16.01.2022 Game Changers has attracted a great deal of attention of late. Here is a balanced review by a Professor of Sports Nutrition.

14.01.2022 An amazingly honest article. From a professional perspective, of particular interest to me is the section about a dancer's body size and shape. It is time to embrace strong fit dancers in favour of dangerously thin dancers at risk of injury and illness

10.01.2022 Some lovely ideas to take care of yourself

10.01.2022 This article sums up some of the frustrations dietitians face in their work. We want people to be well nourished and healthy, so much popular advice about food is completely misinformed.

09.01.2022 What a great role model Taryn is for women of all shapes and sizes.

08.01.2022 Over the past couple of months we have been working to update our branding and logo. I thought today was the perfect day to share it on this page. Our new logo is designed to promote a sense of calm as we help you stay healthy. Take care everyone

08.01.2022 Although perceived as a healthy lifestyle, a plant based diet raises a number of nutrition challenges that are not currently being addressed by the food industry.

08.01.2022 How becoming fixated on healthy eating can have devastating results. So many people provide misguided advice without an appreciation of their impact on the mental and physical health of those they influence.

07.01.2022 While fitness tracking is intended to improve health and well being, for some it may become problematic.

07.01.2022 ANNOUNCEMENT: Today, 1 November 2019, the Medicare Items for Eating Disorders officially goes LIVE! We stand together today to celebrate a significant mom...ent for hundreds of thousands of Australians living with an eating disorder. Today is the first day that the new Medicare response for eating disorders begins across the country. It is one of the foundations of the Governments reforms to the delivery of eating disorders treatment.- Greg Hunt MP As many of you know, Butterfly has advocated tirelessly and worked with the Government, our partners, and colleagues in the eating disorder sector and community to achieve todays milestone. We realise that eating disorders are complex and therefore the criteria will be complex as well. But this is a step in the right direction in allowing for more people to access the help and treatment they need. View the video below and be sure to head to our Website for more clarification https://bit.ly/321gko3

06.01.2022 From November 1st, new Medicare item numbers will be introduced for the treatment of Anorexia Nervosa and other eating disorders. These changes will make such a significant difference to people with eating disorders and their families.

06.01.2022 Today, we are proud to announce our 2019 MAYDAYS campaign, Carers Need Care Too. This year we are highlighting the daily struggle faced by more than two million... people in Australia caring for someone with an eating disorder. Our amazing carers have told us how beneficial the face-to-face and online Butterfly carer support groups have been, so our goal is to raise awareness of the issue and much-needed funds to help expand the carer support program. The launch is being held at Butterfly House in Sydney. See more

06.01.2022 The Federal Government yesterday introduced new Medicare item numbers to health professionals to do their work remotely in an effort to reduce the risks of spreading COVID-19 and to ensure the community can still access quality health care. This is good news, however the enforced bulk billing condition of these new item numbers means consultations will be only funded for a fraction of their usual fee, leading to a reduction in consultation times. Clients are keen to continue with their usual services remotely but the current conditions have made it difficult for this to happen.

06.01.2022 Today is International No Diet Day! Dieting is a significant risk factor in developing an eating disorder. It’s important we take a stand and SAY NO to diets. ...No to society telling us we must look a certain way. No to thinking only one type of body is beautiful. No to the idea that dieting will lead to happiness. We must change the narrative. Your weight does not equal your worth! See more

04.01.2022 Great to see the Butterfly Foundation fighting for better funding for eating disorder treatment.

04.01.2022 Its never too early to ask for help. Eating disorders dont discriminate and everyones journey is unique.

02.01.2022 What a great reflection to help us with our mental health

02.01.2022 This trial program provides more funding to treatment in the community, hopefully we see more like this for those who live in other states.

01.01.2022 Some great advice here from The Butterfly Foundation during these challenging times.
