24.01.2022 Update: Level 1 We would like to inform all our patients that Harbourtown Dental is now resuming all our normal treatments as restrictions have been lifted! This includes checkup, cleans, fluoride treatments... fillings routine and surgical extractions crowns/bridges/ cosmetic treatments teeth whitening dentures Please be aware that social distancing measures will be carried out within the surgery. We have listed some changes below: Fewer chairs in the waiting room with spaces between them Removed magazines Alcohol gel prior to treatment Pre treatment mouthwash Staggered appointment time to minimise contact with other patients Temperature check Screening of patients We request patients to come alone to their appointment if possible. We also request that if you are unwell, have a cough or temperature to delay treatment until your symptoms have resolved. We thank all our patients who have co operated with us and waited patiently. 22.01.2022 Great news! The Australian Dental Association have announced that dental restrictions have now be eased to Level 2! This means we are able to provide a wider range of treatments for our patients from Monday 27th April! We will now be able to carry out the following treatments: Checkup, hand scale, fluoride, xrays... Simple fillings and extractions Some Complex restorative treatment under rubber dam Dentures Emergency care TMJ pain We thank our patients for your loyal support at this difficult time and understood the limitations we have been presented with. 14.01.2022 Dr Shoaib Choudhari BOralH(DSc), GDipDent, PGCert(Pros) Dr Shoaib Choudhari is a local boy who was raised in the Northern Rivers and Gold Coast. After achieving his dental qualification from Griffith University in 2008, Shoaib worked in Casino as a general dentist for two and a half years. Following this, Shoaib migrated to the United Kingdom to pursue post graduate studies in Prosthodontics from Kings College London. Furthermore, Shoaib continued to perfect his surgical skil...ls by training at various Oral and Maxillofacial surgical departments in Scotland and England. With the evergreen desire of further knowledge, Shoaib went back to University in 2018 to pursue a post graduate master’s degree in Oral Surgery. Since moving back to Australia in 2014, Dr Shoaib Choudhari has worked in private practice on the Gold Coast as well working for Queensland Health with a special interest in surgical dentistry, restorative dentistry and special needs patients. Shoaib has treated patients of all ages and needs, always providing the highest care and excellent delivery of treatment. Shoaib makes it his priority to put everyone at ease in a friendly, relaxed environment. He facilitates patient participation so that patients can play an important role in their treatment and the creation and maintenance of their beautiful smiles. 14.01.2022 Dr Reema Choudhari BDS (England), MFDS RCSEd Dr Reema Choudhari was born and bred in Liverpool, England. Reema obtained her Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree from Liverpool University in 2011 and went on to complete her Vocational Training in the West Midlands. After spending time working as a senior house officer at Coventry Hospital, Reema began her general dental practice journey across various locations in England. Dr Reema Choudhari was inducted into the prestigious and ...exclusive Faculty of Dental Surgery, Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh by completing her Member of Faculty of Dental Surgeons (MFDS) examinations. Dr Reema Choudhari along with her husband Dr Shoaib Choudhari and their newborn daughter moved to the sunny Gold Coast in 2014. After taking some time off to raise her family, Reema has been working at a family orientated general dental practice on the Gold Coast for the last four years. Dr Reema enjoys all facets of dentistry and loves working with children of all ages and nervous patients. Dr Reema believes with her caring and gentle nature; she can work with the patient to make them feel calm and relax and provide them with a stress-free experience. Dr Reema understands communication is a key part of dental treatment and always ensures her patients are well informed and understand their treatment options. Dr Reema is a frequent attender to continued professional development courses and has attended a variety of course on all aspects of dentistry. 13.01.2022 A message to all our patients. At present we are currently open but unsure for how long and what restrictions may be placed given the unprecedented situation around Covid-19. This message is to convey the importance of emergency dental care which is essential for overall health. If you have a broken tooth/ infection/ abscess/ swelling or a pain that you have been putting off please have it checked and treated. Dental infections can result in hospital admissions and given the ...current environment we DO NOT want to burden our hospitals further by dental admissions. We have stringent infection control in the surgery and have methods in place to maintain social distancing. At present we are still open everyday but with time this may change.
