25.01.2022 WARNING!!! BINDII WEED Perth lawns are being invaded by this nasty weed. The fruit have spikes like needles and if not treated , your lawn will become unbearable to use. A combination of the chemicals Bromoxynil and MCPA are needed to control Bindii weed . Some of the products available are Yates BuffaloPRO Weed Killer Concentrate , Searles Buffalo Master Selective Weedkiller, Bin-Die Selective Lawn Weeder, Surefire Buffalo, Bindii & Broadleaf Weedkiller . If you only have a small infestation you could put them out manually but you will need to make sure you put out the tap root as well. I really hope your lawns manage to stay free of this weed but if not, best of luck with it and don’t give up. More than one application will possibly be needed this year but more applications will be a must mid next year

24.01.2022 Im devastated to find out that one of our most intense/critically ill patients from last week lost his battle over the weekend. Another young, beautiful doggo ...lost to cycad toxicity. These plants are killers! Every part of the tree is extremely toxic to dogs and I personally believe that they should come with huge warning tags or not be sold at all. Ingestion results in liver failure and it happens very quickly. Even under specialist Veterinary care, the mortality rate on cycad toxicity patients is extremely high. Please, please, PLEASE dont have these in your garden if you have dogs! Let your friends and family know and be sure to share this with as many people as you can. Im so sorry that we lost the fight little guy. You were an absolute legend EDIT: top left image is actually a Date Palm (not a cycad). Sorry for the confusion! Cycads are also known as Sago Palms but are not actually a species of palm. Please check if youre concerned/unsure. UPDATE: just had a 3rd cycad patient admitted to our ICU in the space of 3 weeks. Sadly, its quite common for pets to chew on/ingest plants.... this post is simply to create awareness on just how incredibly toxic this particular plant is. Your dog may stay away from plants (and thats fantastic) but please share the info to help save those who dont. See more

14.01.2022 Its swarm season! If you see a large cloud of bees congregating somewhere or a large cluster of them hanging on a branch, sign, fence post, etc, DO NOT BE FRIG...HTENED! These bees are homeless wayward travellers and looking for a new place to set up a hive. They not only have no home to defend, but they are also full and fat on honey so that they have enough resources to start fresh wherever they end up. This is the calmest you will ever see a honeybee. Contact me or another beekeeper and I am more than willing to come get them! #savethebees *Made this public, so share away!

10.01.2022 Feeding time Did you know that the scout bee will do what is called a waggle dance at the hive to let the other bees know the exact location of a good food ( flowers) source? They use the sun as a reference point to get themselves there . Such clever little friends
