21.01.2022 The true value of food... How what why...how do we walk the fine line of valuing ourselves and our produce in an inherently insecure system that doesn't Vue foo...d or the people who grow it. How do we, how do you, creatively push those boundaries to activate change... Sas wrote about all of these things and more. Please do check it out. https://hofcoop.com.au/2021/02/26/learning-true-value/

19.01.2022 Thankyou to everyone who has been patiently waiting in the long lines at market this month. We here at the co-op are evolving a model where we pay wages at the market as part of being co-op employees. We might be making it more complicated than it needs to be, but it means not every single one if us needs to be there each week, we get paid, we have room to move if we need a market off and our produce still gets onto the table and we as a co-op share equipment and fees rathe...r than all of our individual businesses needing all of their own stuff... This is why we're meeting on monday to figure out rosters, cars, trailers, wages, hours, covid safe protocol and council requirements etc etc etc. Summer is coming and the produce is looking beautiful! So thanks for bearing with us, we wanted to let you know why the lines have been as they are. In the meanime, enjoy the goods and thanks so much for supporting local food and producer led markets :) (Note: Tellurian Fruit Gardens, Ant, doesnt have cherries yet, its a symbol of the new season coming on...!)

18.01.2022 Autumn Veg Subscriptions are now available! Our sold out summer round of veggie boxes is finishing this week and so its time to launch the next round 9 weeks w...orth of organic veggies to carry you through to the end of April. We’ve been out in the fields talking to the eggplants and tickling the cucumbers and trying to make our best guess at how the rest of the season will unfurl. The eggplants are flowering, our onions have cured and our spuds are ready to dig, so there will be a bit more variety in the Autumn box. You can expect a mix of tomatoes (cherry or slicers), cucumbers, zucchini, leafy greens (kale or chard), root crops (beets or radishes), herbs (basil, parsley and Italian herbs), alliums (garlic, leek, spring onion, red or brown onions), spuds and all going well some eggplants, capsicums, beans, peas, kohl rabi and cauliflower. Alsothe moment we have been waiting for, after a 12month hiatus, our biodegradable bags of pre packed ORGANIC SALAD MIX are back! We are offering them as a 9 week subscription along side the veggie boxes. You can get just salad, just veggies or both!! We will start to have some bagged salad available at the weekly market again, but the bulk of it will be available through the subscription model. This helps us plan how much we need to plant, pick and wash in order to meet demand and not have wastage. A veggie subscription is a bit different to just going to the shops and buying your veg as you need it. It is the face and substance of what truly eating locally and seasonally is. Week to week you get to share in the abundance and at times scarcity of what the season offers. A commitment to a season subscription also is a commitment to your local growers so that we can plan, finance and plant the coming seasons crop. It gives us some security in an inherently unpredictable yet essential field of work and gives you a box full of diverse, vibrant and delicious produce to boot! Win-Win! You can collect your subscription each week from either the Wednesday Weekly Farmers Market (3.30-6pm) or from the Farm Shop on Fridays 9am-1pm. Select your preferred pick up option during the check out process.
