25.01.2022 Eggs I love eggs, so I thought I'd post a few Friday fun facts re all things eggs. * Eggs not only provide high quality protein, they also contain 11 vitamins and minerals, omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidants.... * Eggs contain vitamins A, E, B5, B12, as well as iron, iodine and phosphorus. * Storing eggs - they are best kept in your fridge. * You can check how fresh your eggs are by placing them in a bowl of cold water. Fresh eggs will sink. If it's a floater, don't eat it! * You can get creative using eggs for some delicious, nutritious, cheap, quick and easy snacks or meals. Following are just a few popular choices; 1) Boiled eggs which make for a great snack or quick brekky. 2) Eggs on toast. Go with your favourite whether it's scrambled, fried or poached. 3) Baked eggs, or 'shakshuka' 4) Frittatas 5) Omelettes 6) Poached eggs on toast with tomato and avocado. My personal favourite And remember, you can also compost your eggshells. They are packed with calcium which plants and all those other little critters, such as worms, will absolutely love in your compost! Happy Friday and have an 'eggcellent' weekend .



25.01.2022 Commando Tough. Five years ago. A six hour physical and mental challenge. This is by far the most difficult challenge I have put myself through to date. And the most satisfying. And most emotional. I actually broke down and cried at the end when I actually processed what we just did and that I actually got through it. When the memory popped up today, I felt all those emotions again. Still so proud of myself. Still a part of me that would like to do it again. Kind of?!!!

23.01.2022 After being away the past week and a rollercoaster couple of months, it was time to reset yet again. I am the first to admit I've lost my training mojo of late, even when I know that training will be the best thing for me with so much going on in other areas of my life. So today I threw myself back in to it with a vengeance. Short, sharp and effective. Even better, it's all in the name of raising funds for Youth Off the Streets. As per my previous post, my husband from @rockh...ardfitness_aus is raising funds for this great cause, and to help raise awareness he's belting out 100 single arm snatches a day for the month of July. Anyone can join the challenge and if snatches aren't your thing, 100 kettlebell swings are an alternative. So today I decided I better play catch up for the six days already gone. 200 x single arm snatches and 200 kettlebell swings. That's four days I've caught up on, and it felt good! Tomorrow I'll be all caught up. The vids are a snippet of the last 50 reps of each. So...here's to the next 24 days. Bring it!

20.01.2022 Meet my client Tony. Tony's a bit of a legend, a lad, a bit cheeky, full of mongrel and determination and started training with me just short of Covid kicking in. We literally started from scratch and in turn have worked a lot on his mobility, balance and core. And it's coming along beautifully. When Tony started training he could not do a bodyweight squat. I am so proud of how far he has come. Tony trains twice a week with me and I provide a program for him to do at home fo...r a third day. Tony also walks religiously every day from Maroubra to Malabar and back, even on his PT days before we commence. Tony is also 70 years young! 06.01.2022 Post Covid reset! Baked Hoki with Mediterranean style vegetables & Garlic & Basil Sauce. Delicious and nutritious care of @mymusclechef My routine is definitely out of sorts at the moment, much like everyone else coming out of covid19 life. So while slowly getting back on track, my go to for my meals right now is My Muscle Chef, especially while food prepping is feeling way too hard! ... Compared to other companies I've tried these guys are by far the best in my opinion. Loads of variety, goal based options, convenient, economical, delivered fresh and very tasty. And at least I know lunch and dinners are sorted for the next week! FYI I have no affiliation with these guys, I just really like their meals and the convenience when required. 05.01.2022 Hi all. My weapon of a husband is doing 100 single arm snatches a day with a 24kg kettlebell to raise funds for Youth Off the Streets. He started on July 1st and will do 100 everyday for the month of July. You can join him for a $10 buy in as your donation. If snatches aren't your thing, kettlebell swings are the alternate option. 04.01.2022 Post Covid Muscle Re-build! Back day. Lat Pulldown Warm up set.... When performed correctly, lat pulldowns are incredibly beneficial to help build your upper body strength, as well as keep your shoulders healthy. Your lat muscles act as powerful spinal stabilisers for posture during other exercises such as squats, deadlifts and an array of other athletic movements. Having a strong back is definitely key for your overall strength and fitness. Like every exercise, mastering correct technique is key before attempting to go too heavy! Following are a few tips to keep in mind when performing this exercise. * Keep your chest tall * Brace your core * Hold the bar shoulder width or a little wider * Keep your elbows pointed down * Squeeze your lats. Imagine pulling from your armpits! * Lower to just below your chin or chest. * Do not pull down below your chest allowing the elbows to point backwards. This is a very common mistake I see in the gym. This not only disengages your lats but will cause your shoulders to come forward. If you have shoulder issues, this may also cause some irritation and lingering pain to emerge.
