25.01.2022 I just love the shapes in this painting. It feels really bold (for me) There is something that sings to me about the green and the red in this painting!? It sits down on the back wall of the show "Views from the West" with @kathrynryanartist and I. It's very strong from a distance too...

25.01.2022 Excited to have been a part of @thedesignfiles and have my work hangng in this art-filled suburban Melbourne home belonging to @phoeberollestonart - who does amazing work herself, check her out! Such an incredible home - thanks Phoebe & George! . It's an older painting of mine, but i still love it. Was all about being at VCA and getting to Melbourne, they were not dull times at all. I remember being at home for mid year break and just being bloody baffled as to what to do. I ...had a 6 month stand in supervisor who cared 0 for painting and had me chasing film, and in hindsight providing little guidance - and I kept looking at the rocking horse dad had made us as kids stacked in a corner of the studio... So I took the horse down and tried seeing how far I could push it, I rode that thing till I face planted a few times. I realised I could get it to balance nearly on the nose and tail with a little practice - and it hit me that it was like what I was doing at uni, work out what the limits were and then balance on the line. _ . . . 20.01.2022 Easily one of the best things about being an artist is getting to have my own work on my walls. Even if they are going to a new home tomorrow I’m going to enjoy them... And a painting of @nick_dridan which I’m lucky to have! One of these is going to @kathrynryanartist @ Warrnambool, Victoria

19.01.2022 Live now! Views from the West with @kathrynryanartist and I. I’m lucky I’m able to walk through the show everyday... You can too! This awesome software allows you to! Best viewed on a big computer for full affect If on Facebook hit this link https://www.thefproject.org.au/current-exhibtion

19.01.2022 Just getting a feel for these frames... Think I might keep them raw wood?

18.01.2022 I asked my talented housemate @greencollarproductions to help me out with a headshot in the studio, and then I rudely got on the phone before she could even take a shot. Bit of a poser. But mostly incredibly thank ful for all of you who have been purchasing paintings at the moment - I have become busier than I ever thought possible (hence phone in the middle of a shoot) - it makes the rather uncertain times alot brighter. Light in the dark. Thank you, and thank you SO MUCH for all of the amazing stories you've been telling me about how much pleasure my work is giving you!!! xo . Oh and an exhibition shot hah...

18.01.2022 I’ve been thinking about that sign all night. Do I paint the bright yellow reflection of it in like in the small one? If so why? If not why? I was painting this with a lot of feelings rolling around inside, It’s fairly accurate.

17.01.2022 It's nearly over... But not quite yet! @kathrynryanartist and myself will be giving a live artist talk hosted by @thefprojectarts and @gareth_colliton this Friday at 7pm. We are going to have an absolute ball and tell alot of the stories behind the painting and the inspiration for the show - you can ask questions now or during the live feed. Can't wait!

17.01.2022 Today we very quietly opened the exhibition "Views from the West', with @kathrynryanartist and I showing side by side. A lucky person snapped this one up straight away by making an appointment to view in private. Once we get the Virtual Reality Gallery up, you'll all be able to explore too. It's one of my favourite shows I have put on and I cannot wait to show you properly!

16.01.2022 Non reflective glass for prints!!! Can’t recommend it more

15.01.2022 "Mate I got a meeting with your future mother in law tomorrow" Makes me laugh everytime. Wonder how it went!? I get a kick out of seeing my works framed. This one is 28 x 35cm :)

15.01.2022 This one is for all you little lights out in the night that might be dimming a little - you can still see in the dark. This Covid thing has been affecting everyone differently. Take care out there xo

15.01.2022 "Love is like a Sin" I get asked everytime someone sees this painting what it's about, should I make a video story on it? Do you recognise where I've painted it from? (about 1 in 100 works it out, it's tough) . It's part of "Views from the West" with @kathrynryanartist on now @thefprojectarts

14.01.2022 Excited about what’s starting here...

12.01.2022 This is how they start. A ton of different coloured brushes and some pretty clouds. I’d be baffled if anyone can pick the place haha

12.01.2022 How’s the colour of those lights?

11.01.2022 Little excited... Two years back @kathrynryanartist and I shared a show at Flinders Lane Gallery in Melbourne. And now we are about to share a show together in the @thefprojectarts It'll be open by private appointment for one at a time... Stay tuned. It's going to be live in Augmented Reality too =D

10.01.2022 No Photoshop here... Just a new print of my painting that's in the #salondesrefusés of the #wynneprize I'm am quietly (as if I'm quiet) happy to be a part of. The Wynne prize runs in parrallel with the Archibald every year. This prize is chosen by the @nationaltrustnsw Out of the paintings that don't get selected for the Art Gallery of NSW's Archibald, Wynne and Sulman prizes... Alot of competition! . How good is the glow! The original painting has sold to someone in Sydney, but fortunately there are now prints available and I'm keeping this one =D .

08.01.2022 Perfect night to be working on a stormy painting...

08.01.2022 #wip photos never do them justice

06.01.2022 Know the bend? How nice and chunky is the paint in close @ Warrnambool, Victoria

03.01.2022 It's Finished. If You've been following me for a while... You will have seen the trials and tribulations this painting has gone through - the changes, so many. I remember years ago being extremely fortunate enough to share a studio with the phenomely hard working and inspiring painter @shauncytan - one of the best bits of advice he gave me when I was lost trying to finish a work was - go back to the original intention you had when you started the work... . It only took me tw...o years haha! This work has always been about the feeling and a narrative closely entwined in the making of it. It was about a relationship I was a part of a few years back. There are three shopping trolleys in the painting... Two together and one standing alone... . It's a big painting, it's great to be able show the scale of it! It'll be in a show with @kathrynryanartist soon... Stay tuned! See more

02.01.2022 It's such a simple photo - but it means so much to me! I feel really blessed to have the connection with people who buy or get given my work. The smile Kim has is the gift back to me, especially in times like these. I feel so very lucky to have your support. Thank you. . I put so much work into getting it right - I know you've seen me redo things so many times, but I know when I let it go - It means this much to you guys. It's been hard to watch the latest prints get reduced to pulp because they were not right - but when you get them, I hope this will be the result. Thank you so much for your patience, It'll be worth it.

01.01.2022 Happy Friday I wanted it, you asked for it. And now it’s ready! I fricken love this painting, spent so many nights driving the roads and marvelling at the way the white lines cut through the darkness ahead. I feel there is a deeper meaning to following these lines...
