13.01.2022 Please message us if you are a wildlife carer wishing to be involved in this project. It is a wonderful learning opportunity for young children. In return for g...iving children the privilege of naming a Joey that comes into care, we will send you a 'goodie bag" for your joey. Carers are able select "goodies" from our list of supplies - e.g. pouches, Impact, bottles, teats, womaroo etc). Once children establish this connection with an animal they are motivated to learn everything they can about native wildlife preservation and protection. . This project has been created in collaboration with wildlife carers to support other wildlife carers with the expenses of caring for orphaned joeys and educate the next generation in conservation. . . #greenheroes #beagreenhero #kidscanchangetheworld #sharingplanetearth #environmentaleducationforkids #environmentaleducation #australianwildlife See more

04.01.2022 URGENT HELP REQUIRED WE NEED DONATIONS PLEASE SHARE LIKE CRAZY We need your urgent help. Christmas is just 9 sleeps away. Our little turtles have just start...ed to hatch. 40 years ago, they were sold as penny turtles through the pet trade, hatching just in time for Xmas. Now, they lead a much better life. The little hatchlings go back to the river to help recover the population. We need you to help us raise funds tonight. The nesting season runs from October to end of December. So the nests we protected in October have just started hatching. The adult female turtle leaves the safety of the river and explores the riverbank till she finds a suitable spot to dig a hole (nesting chamber) and lays her eggs into it. We then put protective cover over to prevent foxes, wild dogs, goannas from digging up the eggs and eating them. The more funds we have, the more nests we can protect. It’s just as simple as that. We need to raise $10,000 tonight. It would help offset the costs of protecting the nests up to now and allow us to protect many more nests for the rest of this month. $25 helps us protect one baby turtle. Just $5 from each and every one of you would help get us there. It’s just the cost of your next cup of coffee in the morning but one that will help save a baby turtle’s life. Can you answer our call? Can you answer the calls of our turtles? Please donate now: https://mary-river-turtle-public-fund.giveeasy.org/help-us-
