20.01.2022 A BIG shout out to Harmony Primary School, in Atwell, who has recently joined our Gilberts Hilton Support Our Schools Program. Welcome! Harmony Primary Sch...ool is also a member of the Gilberts Willetton SOS Program as the school has supporters who shop at both stores! FYI - customers can support schools at any of the 3 Gilberts Fresh Markets that they visit - they would just need to join the SOS Program at each store, as the programs are run independently by the stores for their own local schools. The Gilbert's SOS Program donates 1% of the customer's total spend to their nominated school. Our only requirement for joining the SOS Program is the Principals permission, and at least 5 supporters ready to sign up. Supporters can also be relatives, friends, next-door neighbours, teachers, etc. not just parents with children at the school. All members of our community are welcome to sign up and help support a local school. If you would like to support Harmony Primary School or any of the other schools in our SOS Program, please ask our friendly checkout staff for further information. Its so easy!

02.01.2022 We are aware that there are many cases of Gastro within our school community at present. Gastroenteritis, often called ‘gastro’, is an infection of the gut that causes diarrhoea and sometimes vomiting, fever and abdominal pain. It is a common illness that is infectious and easily spread. It tends to be a more serious problem in babies and small children. Gastroenteritis is usually caused by viruses, the most common is Rotavirus. Sometimes other types of germs including bacter...ia and parasites may also cause it. It is commonly spread by coming into contact with another person with the illness. It is highly infectious so your child should not attend school, day care or kindergarten while they are sick or still have diarrhoea. Good hand washing with soap and water after handling any ill person, changing nappies and before food preparation and eating is important in helping to stop the spread of infection. As recommended by WA Health Department, ill staff and children should be excluded from school until they have been asymptomatic with normal stools for 24 hours.
