25.01.2022 Yesterday, Eeshva and Ahaliya from LH9 presented Aaron and Jed from Perth Homeless Support Group our donation of socks, beanies, underwear, toiletries and sleeping bags. This donation was made possible by our recent Silly Sock Day. We would like to thank the students, staff and families for supporting this project and giving back to the Perth community.

24.01.2022 On Wednesday, students participated in the P&C organised Masquerade Disco. This was a great day, with students thoroughly enjoying themselves.

23.01.2022 The Harrisdale Primary School choir students performed at lunch time recently. This was a great event and gave the choir students an opportunity to perform to a crowd of their peers.

20.01.2022 Book Fair At Harrisdale Primary School we are celebrating the Book Fair from September 3rd until the 9th. This has been a wonderful week so far and students are thoroughly enjoying looking at and purchasing from such a wide variety of books. Thank you to the Library and Literacy teams for organising another wonderful Book Fair.

20.01.2022 On Wednesday the 11th and Monday the 16th of November selected students from Harrisdale Primary School competed in our annual interschool sports carnival. Students competed across a number of jumps, throws, team games, relays and sprint events over the course of the 2 day carnival. Harrisdale students were impeccable in terms of the behaviour and effort, finishing 2nd overall. 1st: Forest Crescent 2nd: Harrisdale 3rd: Piara Waters... 4th: Campbell 5th: Aspiri We also had some great individual results with the following students picking up champion medals Year 4: Dharsan - 3rd Runner up Champion Boy Year 4: Isla - Runner up Champion Girl Year 5: Simon - Champion Boy Year 5: Cooper - 3rd Runner up Champion Boy Year 5: Tilly Runner Up Champion Girl Year 6: Jacobi 3rd Runner up Champion Boy



20.01.2022 We are excited to welcome back Mrs Lisa West, Miss Sarah Douglas and Mrs Emily Wong to Harrisdale Primary School. Along with these returning staff we would like to introduce Ms Julie Dignon who will be teaching French on Tuesdays.

19.01.2022 A big thank you to all of the volunteers who assisted with the 2020 Book Fair, we are incredibly appreciative of your assistance throughout the week. We are excited to announce that throughout the HPS Book Fair, almost $12000 was raised.

18.01.2022 Gardening Club This term, students in the Gardening Club made a mini sensory garden and plant labels for the PP area. Along with this, they learnt about when and how to plant seeds. 18.01.2022 Virtual Arts Week A message from Ms Weldon, Senior Art Teacher: Senior students have been busy researching, designing, and creating abstract ceramic masks this term. The masks are now drying out in the kiln room, ready to be fired and then glazed by the students. I cannot wait to see the finished pieces!

17.01.2022 One of our Year 6 classes spent some time this week collecting rubbish in order to do a waste audit. Students learn about waste and can see where all members of Harrisdale Primary School need to improve on their wastage throughout the day. We are excited to hear the results and will share them with you once they have been collated. Well done LAT15!

15.01.2022 We would like to reiterate the importance of car park safety in all car parks around the school. Please be courteous of other drivers and pedestrians. We want to ensure that all students, parents and staff feel safe when they are in school car parks. Please slow down when driving, look out for crosswalks and abide by the road rules at all times. We thank you for your cooperation with this matter.

14.01.2022 What a difference a day makes! There was great excitement at Harrisdale Primary School today with the installation of towers, a walk bridge and monkey bars for the new nature playground. A big thanks to Cooper for lightening the crane load! We can't wait to see the students excitement on Monday when they see the new additions for the first time.

13.01.2022 Miss Pragash recently held a concert during the school day with some of the IMSS band students. This was an excellent event which students thoroughly enjoyed.

13.01.2022 Ms Duncan recently met with the Harrisdale Primary School Student Councillors to discuss what is working well and what improvements could be made throughout the school. Students in classes contributed their thoughts (whats working well and what could be improved) before the meeting and these were raised on behalf of all students by the student councillors. Dharmik facilitated the meeting and wrote down points that the group discussed. Students were lucky enough to enjoy some pizzas at the end of their meeting.

13.01.2022 Don't forget about the masquerade disco this Wednesday! Payments can still be made today via QuickCliq and cash. The P&C and Harrisdale Primary School would like to thank 7/11, McDonalds and iPlay for sponsoring prizes for the day.

12.01.2022 Harrisdale Primary School is equipped with some lovely spots for students to socialise at break times. Did you know that we are currently running split break times? Our junior classes have recess from 10:40am - 11:10am and lunch from 1:00pm - 1:30pm. Our senior classes have recess from 10:50am - 11:20am and lunch from 1:10pm - 1:40pm.

11.01.2022 Dont forget that students graduating in 2021 can try on leavers shirt samples until Friday this week. Along with this, payments must be made by September 28th. There will be another opportunity to purchase leavers shirts in Term 1 of 2021 if you miss out this year.

11.01.2022 The 2020 Book Awards Ceremony will look a little different this year. Unfortunately, only parents who have children receiving an award will be able to attend the event. This is to keep in line with the COVID-19 restrictions. Your child’s teacher will let you know if they will be receiving an award on the day. This year, the Book Awards Ceremony will be split into three different groups: Pre - Primary - Year 1: 9:00am - 10:30am Year 2 - Year 3: 11:00am - 12:30pm Year 4 - Year 5: 1:00pm - 2:30pm

10.01.2022 Innovative Gardening We love that our staff have a solutions focused mindset and are life long learners themselves. Ray, our very clever gardener, recently designed a new iPhone holder to help him complete a task. He used 3D design software which Ms Hildebrandt and the extension students then helped to print using our UP Mini 3D Printers.

10.01.2022 Today we held a Feel Good Free Dress Day with all proceeds going towards Kids Help Line to assist mental health in young people. It was great to see so many students wearing clothes that make them feel good.

10.01.2022 Arts Week Update Another message from Ms Weldon: Year 2 students have been learning about foreground and background techniques in their mixed media Fantasy Landscape Selfies. The students had to imagine they were visiting their favourite place or somewhere they would like to go. They experimented with a wide range of art materials, and as you can see, the result is very joyful.

09.01.2022 Reminder that Disco payments are due this Friday. The preferred payment method is QuickCliq, which can be accessed at quickcliq.com.au. Please see the attached an instructional guide if you are unsure how to use this service. If you do need to pay in cash, please bring the correct change in an envelope with the permission slip inside. We are unable to guarantee that change will be available. Please note QuickCliq is the only payment method for the Boost Juice pre-orders and 2021 Leavers shirts.

09.01.2022 Champion Schools' Cup Basketball Update Congratulations to both of the Harrisdale PS basketball teams for representing the school with competitiveness and resiliency at the recent Champion Schools' Cup. They faced 15 of the strongest Primary Schools for basketball in the State. The HPS players battled hard all tournament against much taller and experienced opposition teams. Impressively, HPS were one of only teams to include Year Four and Five players. We would like to also thank the supporters who attended on the day, with a special mention to Allison Owen for assisting the supervising teachers. We wish to also extend our congratulations to St. Emilie's Catholic Primary School on being the female champion team, and Arranmore Catholic Primary School on being the male champions. We look forward to competing again in 2021!

09.01.2022 The Harrisdale Primary School choir participated in an excursion recently. They filmed a song which will be premiered during Telethon on October 25th on Channel 7. The students braved the weather, and the sun shone just long enough for us for the video to be filmed. Students joined with choirs from 20 other schools, and even had a special appearance from Fat Cat.

07.01.2022 We are lucky to have such great play equipment at Harrisdale Primary school. Students have the opportunity to spend time with their friends building on their social skills.

07.01.2022 Harrisdale Primary School will be hosting the Great Vegie Crunch for students on Monday, September 14th from 9:20am 9:30am. Students are encouraged to bring along some vegetables on the day in order to participate in the event. 06.01.2022 The P&C has organised a Boost Juice van to attend the Athletics Carnival on October 23rd. You are able to pre-order a Boost Juice for your children to enjoy on the day. Orders are available through QuickCliq only and the options for drinks are Mango Tango or Berry Crush. You have until September 25th to get your pre-orders in. The pre-orders are to ease the waiting times for students, however, families can order their own drinks on the day.... Each class will be looking for 2 parent volunteers to assist with delivery on the day. If you can help out please let your teacher know.

05.01.2022 If you are interested in purchasing a leavers shirt for your graduating child of 2021 we please ask that you complete the $42 payment through QuickCliq between September 7th and 28th or at the beginning of Term 1 in 2021. Prior to purchasing, parents must have money in their QuickCliq account. Please note, no late orders will be accepted. The leavers shirts have been made by the same company as the school uniforms but are a different material so there may be some size difference. 05.01.2022 There are an increasing number of students coming to school without their water bottles. With warmer weather increasing please ensure your child brings their water bottle. We appreciate your assistance with this.

05.01.2022 We celebrated R U OK Day today at Harrisdale Primary School. Dont forget that a conversation can save a life!

05.01.2022 During lunch time some of our students decided to work together to tell the time on their matching watches. Did you know that at Harrisdale Primary School, teachers deliver a balanced Mathematics program whereby all lessons are explicitly modelled using the think aloud strategy. Teachers ensure all students are provided with opportunities to practise and consolidate their skills in guided, collaborative and independent settings.

04.01.2022 The P&C disco will be taking place on Wednesday, September 23rd. Students will have the opportunity to participate in specific time slots throughout the day. The theme for the 2020 P&C disco is masquerade and students are encouraged to make their own masks to wear. All students will be provided with a permission slip that will need to be filled out prior to the disco. Along with this, a $5 cost is due for participating students by September 18th as there will be no door tickets. Payments can be made via QuickCliq or to the P&C mailbox in Administration. Please note, there will be further details to come.

04.01.2022 Have you heard of Bikelinc? This is a free website powered by Crime Stoppers WA, which allows you to keep track of your childrens bikes if they were to go missing. All you need to do is create an account, register the bike's serial number and you are covered. If your childs bike is to go missing and ends up at a police station, they will be able to get in contact and let you know. You can access Bikelinc at https://bikelinc.com.au/

The P&C is also on the look out for 2 parent volunteers from each class for the 5 minute job of delivering the Boost Juices to the class groups. 02.01.2022 Today we celebrated the Great Veggie Crunch at Harrisdale Primary School. This was a fantastic morning, where students snacked on healthy vegetables with their peers.

02.01.2022 As mentioned in an earlier Principal’s Address, the Annual Twilight Concert will look a little different this year. Unfortunately parents will not be invited to this event as we cannot accommodate the COVID-19 restrictions with such a large student and parent body. The good news is that we will video all 44 of the student performances (not including Kindy) and make them available to parents. We will send out further information shortly regarding this. The filming will take place on December 9th. Please note, if you have a child who cannot be filmed or photographed they will not take part in the performance as we cannot guarantee their anonymity. Students are encouraged to come dressed up in their Christmas outfits instead of their school uniform on the day. We thank you for your assistance with this matter.

01.01.2022 Some of our B Hive students recently participated in Diwali activities. This is also known as the Festival of Lights. We would like to thank the parents who took the time to share their culture with our students.
