23.01.2022 Do not disregard any communications regarding your Superannuation The government announced in the 2018-2019 Budget, a Protecting Your Super package. This new regulation requires you to opt-in to maintain your insurance cover held within your Superannuation fund if it has been inactive or has not been receiving contributions.... If you miss this communication and do not opt-in within their specified timeframes, your insurance cover will cease. This might affect you if: You hold multiple Super funds for the purpose of insurance or; You are self-employed and are paying your Super sporadically or; You are currently not working and are on an insurance claim or; You have retired and decided to retain your insurances held in your Super or; You are simply not contributing to Super - with numerous other possible reasons. Although it is great that the government is taking action on trying to preserve members’ Superannuation balances, in reality, an inactive fund not receiving contributions does not always mean that those insurances are not needed. For the most part of it, it is likely that the insurances held are extremely important in protecting the financial future of you and your family! 23.01.2022 Did you know that children make up 27% of people experiencing homelessness? It’s an upsetting reality that some children don’t have a place to call home or a place to lay their head. Harrison York proudly supports Micah Projects in their Adopt a Backpack campaign. Each backpack is filled with basic toiletries, clothes, activity sets and some toys to put a smile on their face. These backpacks are being collected and used when families are staying in crisis accommodation so ...that every child has something that belongs just to them and an activity to keep them occupied. Micah Projects is a not-for-profit organisation committed to providing services and opportunities in the community and engage with people experiencing adversity due to poverty, homelessness, mental illness, domestic violence, disability and discrimination.
