10.01.2022 Harry did his first service at Palmdale today. And visited a few relatives afterwards.

10.01.2022 2019 - Q. "Would you like Live-streaming of the funeral?" With a quick loud and shocked response of families - NO! . 2020 - Without even asking, families now ...say, "we need live streaming!" before I walk in the door. . With the world that has changed so quickly with Covid, the funeral industry has had to change to adapt to the conditions that were given to us around funeral numbers on a weekly basis. . I have 2 very good teams that do live-streaming and do not cost the earth. Whilst some people watch live, most people watch in their own time in the follow 24-72hours. #funerals #death #funeraldirectors #affordablefunerals #sydneyfuneralsathome #covid19funerals #funeralsinsydney #sydneyfuneralcelebrant #sydneyfuneralhome #sydneyfunerals #funeral

08.01.2022 The new Lotus Pavillion at Macquarie Park is a beautiful space. Despite the torrential rain. It is a space that allows nature, some peace and quiet all in one. Harry loved being there.

07.01.2022 It was a beautiful day for Violets funeral, surrounded by the nature she so loved. Held in Angle Park, Chipping Norton, it was truly reflective of Violets lif...e. Alongside family and friends were members of the Salvation Army. Violet was an active member of the Salvos and was well known in her local congregation. Two got up to speak - one to lead a hymn, and another to pay tribute. Family also spoke at the lectern to share their own stories of a wife, mother and grandmother. And there was a very touching flower ceremony, where everyone came to her coffin to lay a red rose and say their goodbyes before family carried her coffin to the hearse. The ceremony was a blend of the traditional and the modern, done in the Picaluna way.

07.01.2022 We dont just place our kids into any daycare centre without research. We dont just place our elderly into any aged care facility without research. We dont just go to any doctor without research. . So why dont we research funeral directors more before anything happens? ... . Doing research will empower your decisions when the time comes. Not knowing may only cost you in the long run. . Our company is based on being open and transparent with everything from the time of death of your loved one... all the way through to your invoice. . Ask questions. Do some research now. It will make it so much easier when the time comes. #death #funerals #affordablefunerals #sydneyfuneralsathome #covid19funerals #funeralsinsydney #sydneyfuneralhome #sydneyfuneralcelebrant #funeraldirectors See more

06.01.2022 How to have a Fabulous Funeral!! Something to think about! Check out this event coming up.

05.01.2022 Harry was invited to be part of the 2019 Mardi Gras with LGBTIQ Funerals and he loved every minute of it.

05.01.2022 Brand new coroners facilities at Lidcombe. Glebe can now rest after 50 years of servicing Sydney.

05.01.2022 For the past 6 years being in the funeral industry, this report is quite disturbing of the bad behaviours some FDs operate under. Like all industries there are bad, good and great operators.... I feel that the big corporations are being caught out and as one of the people interviewed said "death should not be for shareholders".... interesting times ahead I think! As a fully fledged Funeral Director at Picaluna in Sydney, it gives me the greatest of pleasures working with them as we are making change, one funeral at a time.....

04.01.2022 R U Ok? Are the 3 most valuable words these days anyone can ask someone. I dont care how tough and strong you are, everyone needs help every now and then. Today we farewelled a gentleman who had some troubles, and sadly took his own life leaving behind 3 young sons, a wife and mother. The family were in deep mourning and grief and shock, and just cant understand why. ... If you need help, seek it! If you see someone who needs help, offer it! beyondblue Lifeline Picaluna #ruok

04.01.2022 Our maiden voyage happened yesterday! We had a lovely gentleman to take care of and as we arrived a little bit early, we went for a final drive around Centennial Parklands before heading to the Secret Heart Church in Randwick for the family to say their farewells. With his favourite songs playing in the back it was a great honour to be the driver for his final journey. Harry The Hearse #deathdonedifferently #picalunafunerals #picaluna

03.01.2022 What's the difference between a coffin and a casket? A Coffin has 6 sides/edges, and is tapered down to one end. These are normally made of MDF with a high gloss finish. A Casket has 4 sides and is rectangle, often used with solid timber or metal. Very popular in the USA. Very big and very heavy normally.... Here is Harry with the 2 different types, lights on and looking beautiful as always!

02.01.2022 As we come into summer, Harry has been fitted with 100% blockout blinds. This is not only for privacy but also to protect the precise flowers and of course the families loved one. Also being fully air conditioned protects everyone and everything onboard for the final farewell.

01.01.2022 Hundreds of people gathered at Collaroy on Sydneys Northern Beaches to farewell a popular 22-year-old tradie whose death shocked the whole community. Dylan But...ler went to the doctor after complaining of back ache, which he thought was due to work, but he was diagnosed with testicular cancer. It had already spread to his liver, lungs and brain. Chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery couldnt save his life. His mother is urging other young men to regularly check for signs of the disease and speak out so it can be caught early. Picaluna was honoured to help his family create a beautiful, authentic and memorable farewell which encapsulated many elements of his too-short life, from music to painting and heartfelt tributes. As a keen fisherman, it was the perfect choice to hold his ceremony outdoors by the ocean. Many took to social media to post tributes using the hashtag #restinparadisedylan One friend said, "All of your family and friends came together to celebrate your life. It was hard but at the same time made many of us laugh when told the funny stories and all that came with them. The amount of people who came along to celebrate you and your life was incredible, all it did was prove how many people you touched and came across in your life in so many different ways. It was a beautiful ceremony and I will never forget it for the rest of my life. You were a very courageous young man and the strongest person I have ever met."
