25.01.2022 Dark skies havent put anyone off this weekend. So great to see everyone out and about

25.01.2022 Even the rust at Hartley glows with history and stories.

24.01.2022 Its been a while since we posted anything on our Village page. Weve all been busy reorganizing our lives around the shutdown and looking after our families and loved ones. But we thought you might like a quick update on where all the Village people are at. The NPWS have officially closed the site. The Office and Kew-Y-Ahn Gallery are closed and there are no tours running for the Courthouse or Church. The staff are still working and busy on improvements around about the s...ite. Talisman Gallery is closed to the public, but Ron is still making and creating and can be contacted on 0407723722, or his Facebook and Instagram Pages. The Nic and Susan have closed the Old Hartley Post Office Cafe for the time being and are taking the time to experiment with all sorts of exciting recipes which we are all looking forward to enjoying when they reopen. Wendy from Wendy Anne Art is tackling the challenge of moving her ArtTonic Workshops on line, which hopefully will be up and running soon. Karen Edwards s unable to do photo shoots due to shutdown rules. But you can purchase gift vouchers from her and be all ready for a fabulous session once she can get out and about again. Visit her fb page Karen Edwards Photography. The rest of the Villagers, including dogs, cats and horses are enjoying having everyone home and being spoilt rotten. We hope you are all safe and healthy. We miss you all and are looking forward to seeing you all when this is over. Love from the Village people.

13.01.2022 Perfect day here in the Village.

13.01.2022 Wow, am I in the same place as the last 4-5 days, what a day....

13.01.2022 This tree is the grandfather of fruit trees in the Village. While it doesnt bear fruit anymore, its still blossoms every year, feeding the bees and bring us all joy and comfort.

12.01.2022 The Village is on the tellie! Tonight on Sydney Weekender, 7, there is a piece on Hartley Village featuring our own Ron at Talisman Gallery.

11.01.2022 Been some glorious evenings in the Village recently, in between the spectacular storms.

11.01.2022 It's fun to muck around with filters and imagine what the Village would have looked like a hundred years or so ago. Behind Archie the pony is the old yards and woolsheds, now Talisman Gallery. We have heard the thick cable which is between the railings of this yard, is the old cable from the Hartley Vale Shale Mines incline railway. Can any locals out there confirm this?

11.01.2022 Spring has arrived in the Village. And we mean ARRIVED!!! Time to pack a picnic and come wallow in blossoms, nature and history.

10.01.2022 We have considered the recent lifting of restrictions, however with our space and location we have decided to wait until stage 3 before reopening. This is a ve...ry difficult decision to make, but we have to be practical and our families safety will always come first. We will reopen again and we hope that history does not repeat itself and we get to stage 3 soon Take care all and please continue to maintain social distancing

10.01.2022 We love this old photo of the Village from the Mitchell Library. A few changes, but much thats still the same.

10.01.2022 Theres snow on the hills all around us, including Blackheath, Mt Victoria and Lithgow. The Great Western Hwy to Bathurst is closed. Take great care if you are heading up. And check Live Traffic for road closures.... Stay safe and warm everyone.

10.01.2022 Creative Fire Sessions with Ron Fitzpatrick at Talisman

09.01.2022 It's always comforting seeing our Wedgetail Eagles over the Village keeping an eye on us. (Village Guardian. Acrylic on Paper. Wendy Anne Hawkes. )

09.01.2022 The June long weekend is on the way and restrictions are lifting so we thought it was time for a Village Update. Talisman Gallery is open for business all weekend including Monday, and then open as per normal Wed -Sun. Nic and Susan are holding off on opening the Old Hartley Post Office Cafe due to their limited space. But they and Jessica are well and working on their new house to replace the one burnt down in the fires. ... Wendy Anne is working on art projects around about and the rest of the Ivy Cottage Gang are enjoying some down time during restrictions. The Courthouse, St Bernards and accommodation are still currently closed. But the rest of the site is open and its perfect weather to explore and take a stroll to the rocks and river. The NPWS staff are working hard on projects to improve site. So we are all well and looking forward to everything being back open and seeing you all again. Photo credit Ron Fitzpatrick
