25.01.2022 First bedroom wall rendered.

24.01.2022 The kids had made an exciting find while out for a bush walk. We thought it was a cat at first glance. After some research I think this is a common brushtail. I didn't know they had so many colour variations and was surprised to see it out in daylight.

24.01.2022 The second bedroom had its finish coat of lime render applied back in Feb. We used frangiapani leaf imprints on this wall.

24.01.2022 Aftermath of the hail. Brought a bit of excitement to the afternoon!

24.01.2022 Repurposed the kids old wigwam into a no-dig garden bed. Have planted chokos, sweet peas and sunflowers. Hoping they grow up to create a living canopy for them to play under.

23.01.2022 Second delivery finally arrived. Downpipes may not be particularly glamorous, but these will have the important task of ferrying the harvested rainwater from the roof into the storage tank.

22.01.2022 I'm a bit in love with this old door. It was the first one we picked up from a house demolition just up the road in Macksville. Love how its come up. Will bring character to the girls playroom when it is fitted.

21.01.2022 Its going to be busy here next week. The first delivery has arrived...

20.01.2022 Myriam has been working on restoring a new door. It came from a different renovation to the others. Stripping back the layers of paint the colours are suprising. Blue, cream, brown, white and lime green are all appearing. We plan to leave more paint on this one than the others to show a bit of its story over the years.

20.01.2022 We'll be at the first Eungai Farmers Market this Friday from 3.30pm with sourdough breads, rolls, and wraps. We'll also have some fresh produce from the garden, including some beautiful red cabbages. https://buff.ly/2QHTHSC

19.01.2022 Corey and friend Patto have been hard at work getting ready for fitting all the external plumbing next week.

19.01.2022 Hopefully we never need to use them, but after last years bush fires we figure its better to be safe than sorry.

18.01.2022 Another ceiling finished thanks to our resident workawayers Vicki and Jacko.

18.01.2022 This is Dixon, our handsome pekin drake.

17.01.2022 Another window sill finished.

16.01.2022 The disruption is well and truly underway! Day 1 of running the drainage pipes for the septic system.

15.01.2022 Big old hail storm this afternoon. 40mm fell in around 30 minutes. Flooded the house, blew a pane of glass out of the kitchen door, brought a tree down in Chloe's paddock, broke the trampoline and decimated the veggie patches. Other than that all good!

15.01.2022 Finished the hearth for the fireplace. Looking forward to getting the fire in place and testing it out.

14.01.2022 Testing paint finishes for the timber ceilings.

13.01.2022 So far we have produce from: Kooinda Farm, Rose Myrtle, Bayleaf Herbs, Dollys Run, Blue Moon Farm, Rainbow Valley, and on the Community Stall - The Harvest Hous...e joining with our local Back-yard Gardeners. We also have Mandy's stall with such a fantastic mix of homegrown fruit, eggs, nuts, and Bromeliads, and Karina's stall with their homegrown Macadamias, and their delicious macadamia dukka and muesli. It's Looking Good!! See more

11.01.2022 Picked up an antique dresser from a local buy swap sell page. This will become the bathroom vanity. Now we need to find a nice basin to sit on top of it. We will be trying to decide on taps and tiles this weekend. Can't believe we will have a working bathroom in the not too distant future!

10.01.2022 It's Sustainable House Day! Www.sustainablehouseday.com

10.01.2022 More trenches and trades on-site today. The septic and storm water plumbing is done. The underground pipework for the solar cables is also in. Just need council to come and sign off now so we can fill it all back in! A huge thanks to Pattison Plumbing, Bretts bobcat and excavator hire, Dave Auslebrook (electrics) and Martin (workaway)!

07.01.2022 The lovely Bea stopped in for another visit last week to give us a hand on the house. Today we had to say goodbye again. Miss you!

07.01.2022 Dave our wonderful electrician has been here this week to run the cabling, ready for lights and power. Its exciting to finally be at this stage. Feels like we are getting that bit closer to finishing.

06.01.2022 We've had Patto back this week to run the water pipes. Another step closer to getting a bathroom!

05.01.2022 We said goodbye to Martin and Myriam today after an epic 10 week stay. They worked on so many different projects its impossible to list them all, suffice to say we have made huge progress in the last couple of months. Thank you both. Safe and happy travels.

04.01.2022 Corey and Adam got the third bedroom ceiling up at the start of March. We've been white washing the timber in advance. They are cut to length, routed and the edges whitewashed as they go up.

03.01.2022 We have our first ceiling! Made from recycled hardwood timber fence pailings, roughly sanded and white washed. Thanks to Jacko for giving Corey a hand to get them up.

03.01.2022 We have a freshly pointed fireplace.

02.01.2022 Weve been collecting old fence panels for ages and are now finally ready to use them. They just need to sit in the sun to dry out for a few days first.

02.01.2022 Over half way with the pointing. We're looking forward to getting the fireplace finished so we can give it a test run.

01.01.2022 Our new workaway guests Martin and Myriam have been finishing the support posts ready for the downpipes to be attached.
