While the conditions were fine and windy during the first 9 holes constant drizzle set in for the second nine which made scoring difficult. Jeremy Lister produced a great score of 39 points 76 off the stick to be announced the winner of the Meg, Rab, Miff and Ron Stableford event. Lister who started on the back nine scored 21 points which in...Continue reading

21.01.2022 Sat 21st Nov sponsored by Phil Playboy Humphreys It was the start of the summer season with 68 players nominating for the event. Jo Eastcott produced the best score of 38 points to beat Peter Shine on a countback. Eastcott scored evenly on both nines with 19 points. The highlight of her round was a 4 pointer on No 8. Eastcott has been playing some steady golf of late with her previous 2 scores been close to her handicap so it was no surprise to see her put a great round tog...ether. Eastcott lost just over half a shot for her round. Shine continued his good form to shoot 74 off the stick. He also scored evenly on both nines with 19 points which included birdies on 2 and 14. His chipping and putting were the strength of his game. He lost half a shot of his handicap. Third was Andrew Look on 37 points. He scored 18 points on the front nine which included a birdie on No 6 and followed this up with 19 points on the back nine. Look left off where he finished his last game nearly a month ago where he also scored 37 points. Other good scores were handed in by Laurie Morley, Craig Klumpp and John Powell on 36 points followed by Wal Blechynden, Paul Welch and Rita Rae on 35 points. The NTP novelties were won by No 1: P. Davey. No 6: A. Look, No 10: T. Joyce, No 17: P. Lancaster. Weds 25th Nov sponsored by Craig Klumpp. Paul Welch beat 50 other players when he handed in a score of 39 points to win the Craig Klumpp sponsored event. Welch has been playing some good golf of late with recent scores of 36 and 35 points. He continued his solid form to score 20 points on the front nine including a 4 pointer on No 9 and then followed this up with another 19 points. His handicap has come down over 2 shots in recent weeks. John Crognale was the unlucky player who was beaten on a countback by Welch. Crognale has only just recently returned to playing golf and is not taking long to find his form. He scored 20 points on the front nine and followed this up with 19 points on the back nine. Unfortunately a wipe on his last hole cost him the win. Third was Pam Davey with 37 points. Davey scored 20 points on the front nine and 17 points on the back nine. Other good scores were handed in by Drew Devenish, Matti Hynynen on 36 points followed by John Parton, Noelene Wooltorton and Paul Lawson on 35 points. 20.01.2022 The Harvey open draw will be up on our website over the weekend.. the band that was suppose to play Saturday night has been cancelled due to covid restrictions

20.01.2022 Wednesday 27 January saw some 60 players participate in the Frank Italiano stableford event at Harvey Golf Club. Frank has been a very long term member and sponsor of the club. He is and has always been a very strong supporter and has held positions on the committee and contributed over the years to the maintenance of the course. His endeavours and ongoing sponsorship are very much appreciated. There was a very close finish for first and second positions with Spud Tuck taking... the day on 40 points, this equated to 88 hits of the par 72 course off of a 20 handicap. A very solid score with few errors. He was closely followed by Chad Harris on 39 points with another solid round which included the non score on one hole. Long time member Ken Lomax led a group of players on 37 points which also included Rod McDonald, young gun Corey Hickman and Paul (Bomber) Lancaster. Rounding out the top ten and ties were Peter Brandis, Ray Suarez, Ian Grieves, Fred Flanagan and Derek Williams all on 36 points. On Saturday the Murray Klumpp monthly mug stroke event was held and attracted 67 players including two newer players Scott McEwan and Kev Bostleman, both submitting cards for their handicaps. Murray Klumpp again has been a very loyal and long supporter of the club over several decades. A respected former member who does not have the opportunity these days to frequently attend the club, he continues to show his fondness for it and the members by continuing his prestigious award. The winner non the day was Gary Jones with a net 64 which was comprised of 86 hits less his handicap of 22. Jones had been absent from golf for a number of years and has returned over the last few months and appears to be re-developing his game. He was closely followed by former club captain and 2020 golfer of the year in Stewy Jones, keeping it the family by following his cousin on net 65. His recent form has not particularly reflected his 2020 season however there is reason to suspect that he is setting himself for the winter 2021 season. Greg Hodgson followed on 67, the evergreen Russell Upton showed his still strong game mowing down the course for 77 hits at a net 69. Ian Grieves followed on 71 and then four players led by Mike Deloitte had 71 including Michael Blackburn, John Parton and Meg Ainsworth. Rounding out the top ten was a field of players on net 72 which was led by Kevin Burton followed by Pete Shine, Paul Lancaster and Laurie Morley.

19.01.2022 Stroke Nett: Men: S. Jones 70, A. Henderson 71, G. Halton 72, T. Piggott 72, G. Hynynen 72, J. Lister 73, J. Parton 73, M. Baggetta 74, K. Wooltorton 74, G. Dawson 74, R. McEwan 74, l. 19.01.2022 Wednesday scrounges saw a field of 43 players participate in the Steve Iceton Stableford event. The top seven players were separated by only 3 points with Lance O’Callaghan taking the prize on 38. He was followed by Alex Morley taking out second place from the evergreen Cec Holman, Charlie Baggetta whom is on the slow build up to something concrete and Ian Grieves who has shown he has plenty of talent in the bank, all of whom were on 36 points. Closely following were Jerome O...liver and Jim Bianchi who are both showing a bit of consistency with 35 points. Tony Joyce, Kev Roney, Paul Welch and Jeremy Lister were in the top ten and ties with 34 points. Saturday saw an outstanding win in the Francesco Figliomeni stableford event achieved by new member Brett Gale who piloted his way around the course leading the field with 42 points. This resulted in a very rare reduction of his handicap by a massive 8.6 strokes. This creates a real test of his ongoing abilities over future weeks, he is going to be under pressure to perform at a completely new level. The ever consistent Sharron Borrow is showing that recent instruction by travelling resident Professional, Nigel Durkin, may be paying off as she led the remainder of the field on 39 points. She took second place from Kev Wooltorton on a count back and also on 39 points. Jerome Olive was third on 38 followed by Colin Holt and Mike Deloitte on 37. Richard Rae and Mike Deloitte followed on 36 and Craig Williams and Helen Oliver made up the top ten and ties with 35 and 34 points respectively. Nearest the pins par threes were taken out by Noelene Wooltorton #1, Helen Oliver #6, Peter Shine #10 and Harold Brislin #17. Nearest second shot on the par fours were won by new member Nils Sav #5 and Pam Davey #13. Third shots on the par fives were achieved by Michael Blackburn #8 and Noelene Wooltorton #14. The men’s long drive was smashed down #7 by Trevor Piggott and the ladies long drive belted down #2 by another new member in Sandy Sav. Helen Olive took out nearest in 4 on # 16 and the long putts were sunk by Paul Fonk #9 and Greg Hodgson #18.
