25.01.2022 We are beyond excited to finally tell you what we have been holding back on! On Friday, October 16, we will be holding our first Graze and Raise event for the HAS Foundation. Graze and Raise is all about people getting together, creating fun memories, sharing some food (and drinks if you would like!), and raise some serious money for the HAS Foundation.... Our major fundraiser for the year was cancelled thanks to COVID so fundraising has been a bit tricky. Whilst the fundraising opportunities have dried up this year, the need for us to provide valuable support to South Australian families caring for a child in palliative care certainly hasnt! They need our support more than ever. But we need your help. What better way to get together with your friends, family, or colleagues for some nibbles and fun to GRAZE AND RAISE than on Friday, October 16th which is World Food Day. And to make the event even better, we will be having an online Silent Auction with some amazing items to bid on. Interested in hosting a Graze and Raise event? Please DM or email your details to [email protected] and we will send you more info!

24.01.2022 You wont want to miss this!Whilst we cant tell you just yet what this event will be, but trust us when we say you need to pop this date in your diary!More will be revealed soon! #savethedate #charity #fundraiser #notforprofit

24.01.2022 Lock down is how Paediatric Palliative families live, always worried about germs, always cautious of who comes over, always trying to get to the shops in-between caring for a critically ill child, never sure of what tomorrow may bring. Now we all get a small glimpse into how this may feel day in day out for these families. I know living on edge like this for nearly 12 years took it’s toll on myself and my family. ... So now with the whole state in circuit breaker lockdown, please do the right thing, stay home, enjoy time together, and look out for your friends, family and loved ones. We have got this SA. This is not forever and we will get through this. The Palliative families will also get through but with broken hearts forever to remind them of their time in lockdown. I would have been so scared for Hunter at this time and we are sending much love to families in Paediatric palliative care. We also wish for all families to Live for the moment enjoy old movies, play board games, enjoy the sunshine in your back yard, take a breathe and just be. It has been a very crazy, weird day and we wish much love and safety to you all and we are here for you if you need #stayhome #besafe #love #familytime #palliativecare

24.01.2022 One year on..... Becoming a program partner with the WCH Foundation (Womens and Childrens Hospital Foundation) for the Laklinyeri Beach house is a dream come true. We are proud to be able to provide photographers, massages, date night dinners, surf lessons or what ever the family wishes to do with their time at the beach house to live for the moment and love for a lifetime. We cant wait to share more families memories with you soon.

24.01.2022 How will you be an angel to someone today? Today (August 22) is Be An Angel Day, a day that encourages good deeds and kindness to others. By supporting those in need and inspiring others to kindness, we display acts of an angel here on earth. The day also recognizes those whove been angels to us. Our foundation and the amazing things we do would not be possible without angels whether they are committee members, supporters, donators to our cause. And we know our foundation will continue to prosper thanks to an abundance of these Angels

20.01.2022 Caring for Hunter to say goodbye was the hardest thing weve ever had to do. Caring for our family through the grief comes a close second. But something that we could always take comfort in? The memories we made outside the hospital.... We cant wave a magic wand to give children with life-limiting illnesses and their families extra time, but we CAN provide experiences or programs to create beautiful memories which last a lifetime. - Ella and Jarrod

19.01.2022 Today 18 years ago I became a Mamma. I was never scared just excited, all I wanted was to be a Mum. Hunter made all my dreams a reality. He was the most beautiful baby and I could not wait to take him out and show him off to the world. The love for this little boy was amazing. Those first 8 weeks were bliss and I was so chuffed with myself. Then I became scared and nervous for the first time as our whole world turned upside down. The next 12 years were certainly a ride bu...t as you can see from the smile on Hunters face in the photos, there were lots of happy times. I am so honoured to be your Mum Hunter, everything you have giving me is more than I could have ever given you. I love you with all my heart and soul and my heart and arms ache to hold you again. I miss you my angel. We will celebrate and party today with friends and family and welcome being parents of a 18year old. Enjoy the view today my darling as we celebrate 18 years of you. Love forever Mum and Dad

19.01.2022 We had to share this beautifulness. I agree Jane Scotcher we need more of this!!!

19.01.2022 || Memories || What this day meant... I dont think these wonderful young men will ever really understand... The day started with a flat battery in our wheelchair accessible car - BUT that wasnt going to stop me getting Hunter to school. ... He had been so unwell, we had a week in the hospital, and we knew deep down inside that we were starting to lose the battle with his health. So we rugged up warm, changed car seats, lugged and lifted his wheelchair into another car and made our way to school. (Hunter never liked waking up for school so slept the whole way) Arriving at school his friends and teachers were so excited. The Crows were about to arrive! But not a few of them - the entire team. Over 20 young men came into the school hall confronted with children with various abilities and challenges, but they took it in their stride, chatted, played, planted trees and made these kids day. Hunter had previously barracked (much to our horror) for Collingwood. On this day, though, much to his Dads delight, he became a crows supporter. This was the last day that Hunter was well enough to get back to school. He was very weak. His cyclic vomiting became worse, and his rapid decline was gaining momentum. These photos came up in my Facebook memories from 6 years ago today. Memories and photos are so precious and making an effort when things seem challenging are always worth it. Thank you for this memory Adelaide Crows, especially Tex Walker, Eddie Betts and Rory Sloane, you made a difference in Hunters last months. Always, Live for the moment and Love for a lifetime.

16.01.2022 This has just made our day and brought us to tears... We love hearing from the families who stay at the WCH Foundation Lakinyeri beach house. We cant express how proud we are to be apart of helping these families to create lifelong memories to cherish for a lifetime.... Kiera, Robert, Connor, Declan and Evie-Lee recently spent a wonderful week at the Beach House together with some extended family and friends. Connor and Declan are both under the care of the Palliative Care Team at the Womens and Childrens Hospital, however, Kiera & Robert are determined to make the most of every day and possess a level of positivity that is inspiring. During their stay, they took every opportunity to venture out and experience the local region. Thank you for giving our family the opportunity to get away and make some beautiful memories and not have to worry about appointments. Such a beautiful set up with lovely views out every window. The kids loved watching YouTube in bed on their TV, playing PS4, watching locals kayak past the Beach House, going down to the sideshows, riding the ponies, going on the bumper car, going on the horse tram over to Granite Island. Thank you for the vouchers to the Whale Centre and Urimbirra Wildlife Park and for having such a fun, outgoing photographer who was AMAZING and super patient with special needs kids. We cannot wait to come back and were not even sure if we want to go home at all! Awesome work to all involved making this happen for families like our own. We left feeling refreshed and ready to face life again. Love from Kiera, Robert and familyand our extended family and friends.

12.01.2022 It’s beginning to smell a lot like Christmas.... Mmmmm the gingerbread and short bread cooking in the oven today at Scoffed Cooking School was amazing!!!! Today 20 awesome kids gave up 3 hrs of their school holidays to bake Christmas treats we will pack into surprise Christmas hampers heading out to families on Monday. ... The gift of giving and the heart felt feeling of helping others who may not have as festive Christmas was overwhelming. Our friends from Kids In Philanthropy always show us that it’s the little things that can make a big difference and being Philanthropic doesn’t take huge amounts of dollars, just by sharing your time, talent or treasures to support others in need is something we can all easily do. Thank you to everyone who came along, Scoffed team and KiP for making today so special

What beautiful kind souls. Liams photos reminded me so much of Hunter and we are sending all our love to his family and thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

12.01.2022 Tomorrow would have been Hunter’s 18th birthday. I know any 18 year old would be cross posting this photo, but how cute is that cheeky smile! The day will be an emotional one for our family but we are hosting a party with family and friends to celebrate this milestone, it will be a bittersweet moment. We will go from the joy of celebrating Hunter and all that he continues to do via the foundation we created in his honour, to sadness knowing our first born isn’t here for u...s to experience the magic of it all first hand. So we have decided to end 2020 on a high note and celebrate Hunter’s 18th in a BIG way!!! ‘18 for 18’. It’s simple we are seeing if we can get 1000 people to donate $18 for Hunter’s 18th! That’s $18,000!!!! What a way to start 2021 helping support South Australian Paediatric Palliative families, Live for the moment, Love for a lifetime. Click here to donate via our website - https://hasfoundation.org.au/donate/ AND if you are keen on helping us further, please like, share and tag some friends in this post. Fathers Day always brings up so many memories, happy and sad and it breaks my heart for ...the heart ache Hunters Dad has had and we love him for always being there Big hugs to all the Dads, Thank you. Xx

09.01.2022 Paediatric palliative care and palliative care, theyre both forms of palliative care so how different can they be? We think the best way to describe it is if we put it like this; when youre providing end of life care to children whose lives are just beginning, its a completely different ball game.

09.01.2022 We cant go away on big holidays right now, but we can enjoy moments together, take photos and saviour spending time with our kids. 04.01.2022 How good is the weather today!!!! The beach has played an integral part in our daily lives not only is it the place I visit to ground myself and destress from everyday life, but it has been the backdrop for many happy memories with Hunter. I feel connected and have often felt Hunter by my side when Im walking along the beach. Wishing you some motivation this humpday, but also reminding you to take the time out to breathe, relax and Live for the moment

03.01.2022 Its been a while since we launched the HAS Foundation and we figure theres quite a few new followers here who might not know what were all about.. lets change that! This is a story that starts with our Superman: 8 weeks after our son Hunter was born, doctors told us he would not live to see his first birthday. ... To say we were absolutely gutted is an understatement. The doctors could never clearly diagnose the cause of Hunters illness. As unexpected and challenging as this news was, we were even more surprised by Hunters resilience: our boy lived and loved life until he was nearly 12-years-old thanks, in large part, to our amazing paediatric palliative care provider. He spent the final three years of his life with the Palliative Care team from the Womens and Childrens Hospital. Like so many parents of children living with life-limiting conditions, the time came for us to say goodbye to our superman, Hunter. It was an unbelievably difficult time, one that broke our hearts, and though we miss him every day, we decided to use our experiences and knowledge to help families in similar situations live for the moment and love for a lifetime. Three years after Hunter passed away, HAS Foundation was born. Named after our beautiful boy Hunter Alfred Stratton, the HAS Foundation provides ongoing financial and emotional support to children with life-limiting illnesses and their families. We help them create moments of fun and laughtermoments that turn into beautiful, lifelong memories of a love that will never fade. And finally, we never give in, something we learned watching Hunter face each day with the courage and bravery of Superman. Our organisation will never stop fighting for the children and families that we supportwell give them our all, every day, for as long as they need us. And we wont stop until we help create a world where paediatric palliative care is well funded and supported, and every family caring for a child with a life-limiting illness gets the chance to create memories that last a lifetime. If youre AT ALL touched by our story, or know someone facing a similar journey, please comment below and introduce yourself.

03.01.2022 Adelaide kids you love to cook and help families in need! We are fulling booked out for our December Christmas cooking program. We will hold another one in the April school holidays. Keep a eye out for the date. ... Thank you to those who have booked, see you soon See more

03.01.2022 Something as simple as writing on a gift tag at this time of year can bring up so many emotions. I always have to write Hunters name on cards but I always think some people may think this is strange. It’s like being asked how many kids I have, it always takes me a few seconds to know which answer to respond with as sometimes I will fantasise he is still here and say 3 other times I say 2 as I don’t have the need to explain to people and share my story. ... The reason I am sharing this is, you never know what other people are feeling at this time of year and don’t get me wrong, I am super excited for Christmas and have carols and Love Actually playing 24/7! But just go gently with people today, shops are busy, roads are busy and we are all racing to the finish line to be able to spend a day with our loved ones and be grateful for being together and creating memories. 1 more sleep #begentle #christmaseve #1moresleep #

03.01.2022 There is nothing better than starting off the week and New year with gratitude and trust me, we have a huge amount to be grateful for following on from last month’s ’18 for 18’ fundraiser. Thanks to you in a few short days we managed to raise over $8,500 to celebrate what would’ve been Hunter’s 18th! Thank you to all that generously donated - your kindness and generosity will go far and wide helping out South Australians who have a child in palliative care. It really is quite humbling to see the support our little Foundation receives it does not go unnoticed. We can not wait to share all of our up coming plans for 2021 soon .

02.01.2022 Happy World Kindness Day Be the good in today, Hunter taught us so many invaluable lessons in his 12 short years that we try and carry with us to make his beautiful heart and soul live on. Today let’s think of others doing it tuff right now. ... Be the random act of kindness you may hear about. Little gestures, thoughts and words can make a big difference. Be kind to yourself, you are awesome. Sending lots of love,Team HAS. Live for the moment, love for a lifetime. #worldkindnessday2020 #bethegood #love #RandomActsofKindness

02.01.2022 Who needs a feel-good story today? I wanted to share what I got up to this morning. #kindness #care #support #love #family #nurture

02.01.2022 What a year it has been for our hospital health heroes!! Much love to every single one, but these guys in particular are pretty awesome. Driving away from delivering 7 care packs for newly referred families to Paediatric Palliative Care, 3 beautiful Heartbeat Bear's and 3 Christmas hampers for families that may find themselves in hospital in the next week, a feeling of joy flooded over me. Being able to spread love to these families who need it most is so rewarding, but the ...nurses who care for these families going through such heartbreak, are the true heroes. Sara was Hunter’s nurse and the last 3 years with Hunter we simply could not have survived through the hardest of times without her. We are so grateful for the care and support Palliative care provided us and this is what drives us to keep helping at HAS Donate to https://hasfoundation.org.au/donate/ to help us continue with our mission to support these families this Christmas.

02.01.2022 13 years ago today we finally said I do. It had been a bit of a crazy journey with Hunter coming into our lives but having him be Jarrods best man was one of the most treasured memories I have. Texy waking me down the isle with my Dad and feeling blessed to have all of our loved ones with us was so special. ... Our life and us have changed for ever, the heart ache of missing Hunter at times like these is intense but I am so grateful for those moments and photos to hold onto for a lifetime #anniversary #memories #moments #love

02.01.2022 Words for you to ponder as we waltz into the weekend which will no doubt be busy with family & friends catchups, kids sports and other commitments. Whilst this gorgeous boy in the photo isnt our superhero Hunter, the image is a powerful reminder of the true heroes in life! #superhero #fight #battles #love #child

01.01.2022 The last carry me a funny way to bed, the last holding hands walking into school, the last read me a story, the last piggy back me, the last kiss good night...You never know when its going to be the last time, so soak up every moment and create memories for a life time.

01.01.2022 Well here we are in 2021, Happy New Year - fair to say 2020 didn’t go as planned for us just like the rest of the world!!! For the past 4 years I have chosen a word to anchor thoughts, focus and meaning to the year instead of resolutions or goals (even though I still have a few goals!) 2019 the first year of HAS starting I chose Action and boy was it fast and busy!!!... 2020 I chose Balance and Stability Pfffft what a joke- that didn’t happen!!!! So for 2021 I have chosen Flow Hunter certainly taught me to go with the flow, never knowing what tomorrow may bring and to Live for the Moment. Hunter and 2020 taught us so much and dare I say, we learnt to ‘pivot’ and embrace these unusual times and go with the FLOW creating new events and fundraising ideas as COVID cancelled our major fundraiser early in May but that didn’t stop us and we conquered the past year, thanks to you. A few highlights of the year include our inaugural Graze and Raise event in October that was such a hit that it will now become a permanent fixture in our event calendar. We raised over $35,00 from this but it was the generosity from individuals and businesses that supported us that truly made this event so humbling. Our Feed the Heart & Soul cooking events with Kids in Philanthropy were also a hit, and a newcomer to our events calendar. Plus our beautiful care packs evolved we did Mothers Day and Fathers Day and Christmas surprise packs for some special parents that were going through the hardest and saddest of times. AND all of this whilst working on a new website that will be launched in Jan! As I look back on the truly amazing year we’ve had, I know that it isn’t possible without those that have supported us big or small. It fills our hearts with joy to see the generosity displayed thank you. Hunters 18 for 18 will be coming to a close tonight. If you haven’t yet, please donate $18 for Hunter’s 18th. Such a small amount, but trust me, the impact is real and greatly needed. We are looking forward to the FLOW of 2021 with you our supporters and thank you again for your generosity to help Paediatric Palliative families, Live for the moment, Love for a lifetime

01.01.2022 Guess what? Our Local Matters jar at Grill'd Norwood received the most tokens last month which means that we have been kindly gifted $300!!! Thank you to everyone who supported us with this little initiative every dollar counts
