We are wanting to raise money to replace some of the worn table settings in the grounds with some of these settings (although the colour will be different). Made from recycled plastic they are durable and low maintenance and they look great. Can you help by buying some raffle tickets? Tickets due back at school by Tuesday 17th November.

20.01.2022 Call for donations! As many will know, one of the families from our school lost everything in a house fire last week. If you have any household items you can spare that would make life a little bit easier for them, I'm sure they would be appreciated. Items can be dropped at the front office of the Port Macquarie campus by Wednesday morning (last day of school). Sheets, Towels, non-perishable food, vouchers for target/Big W/Kmart to replace clothes and kitchen equipment. Anyth...ing you think you would appreciate in the same circumstance. There will also be an out of uniform day at both campuses this week, so please support that as well. Thank you for your kindness.

20.01.2022 The P&C would like to encourage all parents to complete the "tell them from me survey" to provide feedback to the school. The survey is anonymous and there is a link attached to the principals message in the newsletter sent out yesterday.

04.01.2022 School Upgrade At Risk! Please please please book in to come to the very short notice community feedback sessions on the proposed school refurbishments. Tuesday 1st December - sessions start at 4pm - there are still spaces in all 30min sessions. After months of silence work is supposed to commence any time now. If what is currently planned goes ahead we will be left with a school which is too small and with facilities for less kids than are attending at the moment, let alon...e the growth we can expect in coming years. The proposal is to build a school for 650-680 students. There are currently nearly 750 students and over 770 enrolled for next year. Most of what was promised in the 2018 master plan will not be delivered. No new 2-3 story library, no STEM lab, no senior study facility, inadequate science labs (in fact one less than we currently have, in a STEM action school no less!), no 2-3 story TAS/visual arts building, staff rooms too small to house the current number of teachers, no refurbishment of the COLA and sport courts and only 14 renovated classrooms, leaving the majority of classrooms in the same state of disrepair they are currently in. This is a once in a generation opportunity for our school and community and we must let the powers that be know we are not happy with this. So please book to come to a session tomorrow and also let them know directly on their contact email https://www.schoolinfrastructure.nsw.gov.au//hastings-seco

03.01.2022 Dear Parents and Carers The Premier and Minister for Education and Early Childhood Learning announced this morning all students will return to full time on-camp...us teaching and learning from Monday 25 May (week 5 Term 2). The below link provides guidelines to support parents and carers for return to school next Monday. https://www.hastingssecondarycollege.com.au//guide-nsw-sch Living with COVID-19 is for now, our new normal. We are confident on the national and NSW Health advice that schools are safe, and to avoid complacency there continues to be some sensible precautions which are outlined in these guidelines. Any questions please email your campus or use the quick form response on our website https://www.hastingssecondarycollege.com.au/contact-u

03.01.2022 PARENT TEACHER PHONE CONFERENCES Dear Parents and Carers Thank you to our parents and carers who have provided their expression of interest to be contacted by t...eaching staff to discuss your childs progress in various subject areas. We appreciate your patience as we navigate (with some constraints) Parent/Teacher phone conferences. Our campus are currently constrained by the number of outgoing lines to make calls to parents and as a result not all parents have been contacted by teachers this week at the allocated time requested by you. We have extended our parent conference calls for another week and teachers will contact parents at their requested times and days for the remainder of this week and next week. If you have any concerns please contact your campus.

02.01.2022 Can anyone help? Either to bake or buy.

01.01.2022 Principals Ms Cook and Mr Ross look forward to your participation at the zoom Parent Lounge Session on tonight at 5.30 pm. Login details and topics for the session can be found at the following link https://bit.ly/33sGCUE
