24.01.2022 Hi Have-A-Chat team! Wow, what a day of big changes. If youre a client of our service just to let you know youll be receiving a text from Penny to let you know how you can continue to access counselling over the next few weeks and months. In most cases youll be able to continue on with counselling as usual just over video link or the phone. We are very keen to keep on supporting you through this challenging time. On the positive side, there will be a change in the times that appointments are available that may mean you can access counselling in the early mornings, evenings or over the weekend if that works better for you. Stay tuned here for updates and please contact Penny on 0413 612 218 if you would like to discuss your options further.

19.01.2022 Sage advice! So many clients report feeling exhausted and not sleeping well, switch off your screens and rest you body and mind. I recently attended some training where the presented proposed sleep as the antidote to anxiety and I cannot agree more. Sleep more, screen less!
19.01.2022 A beautiful graphic with some lovely breathing techniques from I CBT

10.01.2022 I talk a lot about acceptance. This is a beautiful graphic illustrating how acceptance works, remember acceptance is not condoning or saying that the situation is as you would like it, but rather choosing to acknowledge how a situation is, rather than fighting against it.
10.01.2022 Challenging negative thoughts! Here are some strategies for examining and possibly reframing those unhelpful thinking styles.
10.01.2022 At the moment psychologists across Australia are experiencing unprecedented demand for service and here at Have A Chat Psychology were no exception. In Glen Innes there is a very high demand for counselling appointments, we apologise for the delay. Unfortunately, its not possible to guess at how long the wait might be. Please keep in mind that were not operating a crisis service: if it is urgent that you receive support please speak to your GP or visit your local hospital ...for crisis supports. Things you can do to shorten your wait: * let us know if you can attend on short notice so your name can be placed on a cancellation list. * attend your appointments when they are scheduled either in person or via Telehealth * attend your face to face appointments only when healthy and well * work on practicing skills and techniques between appointments and complete practice tasks recommended Please contact us at Have A Chat Psychology if you any questions or concerns. Looking forward to working with you as soon as possible.
10.01.2022 I LOVE this explanation! If we have spoken at all I have mentioned to you the way your brain has grown and evolved over time and why we ruminate as well as the role of anxiety. Please take the time to watch this beautiful animated explanation!
