25.01.2022 Today residents at Raglan house stepped back into the fifties for an afternoon tea with a difference. Lemonade spiders were the hit of the day with everyone enjoying the rock n’roll themed table decor. Rochelle did an amazing job putting this together for our residents to enjoy



24.01.2022 Raglan house residents had a virtual Subway dining experience today with a simple decor of gold and green targeting the Subway virtual restaurant theme. Delicious variety of subs and wraps from our local Maryborough Subway store and of course everyone finished off with a scrumptious Subway cookie. 23.01.2022 Today Raglan House residents enjoyed a Wild West Country themed BBQ luncheon. Lots of cheer with bright and colourful table decor and delicious BBQ meats and accompaniments cooked onsite. A few residents found themselves on the wanted posters and enjoyed laughs about what their misdemeanors could have been. Country music playing in the background finished of our lovely gathering. 23.01.2022 Christmas in July was celebrated at Harkness Street on July 22nd. Residents thoroughly enjoyed the meal of traditional roast meats and veggies, finishing off with a very moist plum pudding, made by our resident chef, or fresh fruit salad and ice-cream. The tables and surrounds were decorated to create the Christmas ambience. Some staff dressed in the spirit of the occasion. Drinks were served by Leisure and Lifestyle staff



22.01.2022 A small gathering of residents social distanced for Special Morning Tea at Harkness Street this morning. Everyone enjoyed the lovely cakes, slices and a nice hot drink. Plenty of chatter was had amongst one another. afterwards most residents ventured to the chairobics session before lunch

21.01.2022 Old MacDonald arrived at Harkness St last Wednesday for the virtual farm lunch. Residents were very impressed with the scenery of life size animals and shearing memorabilia. The residents are always surprised at each virtual outing with much discussion about the themes. Great times are had during these days

20.01.2022 A tropical Hawaiian theme set the mood for this weeks virtual lunch outing. Resident enjoyed Hawaiian Pizza, Hawaiian Sticky Chicken with wedges and/or vegetables followed by Berry Roulade or Fresh Fruit Salad and Punch. The Leisure and Lifestyle staff once again decorated with colourful decorations and set for a vibrant atmosphere enjoyed by all.



20.01.2022 An enjoyable virtual Fish ’n’ Chip luncheon was held on a glorious spring day. Residents were impressed with their meal consisting of fish, calamari, chips and coleslaw and beverages where served to quench their thirst. The atmosphere is all the areas had the theme of sitting on the banks of the river or sea fishing. Residents look forward to their outings and always appreciate the efforts that staff and management at Havilah go to in these trying covid times.

20.01.2022 Raglan house residents residents enjoyed an afternoon of Melbourne cup day festivities beginning with the Luncheon in the dining room, then later upstairs for an afternoon high tea party to watch the race that stops the nation. Fashions on the field ladies and gents with also best millinery prizes were given out to winning residents. We held sweeps for the big race and complimentary sweeps for the last 3 races for those who attended with winners receiving little gifts. A lovely afternoon was had by all. A big thank you to our ILU community for coming together to supply the roses for our tables. Next year we hope to be able to celebrate cup day with you all. The roses were very much a focal point of the day.

20.01.2022 This afternoon, Harkness Street residents virtual travels took them to Paris, having afternoon tea in a French cafe atmosphere. Everyone who attends these special themed days appreciate the time and effort that is put into these planned days.

19.01.2022 INFORMATION FOR FAMILIES AND FRIENDS VISITING HAVILAH Update 19th October 2020. CONTACT Havilah at 5461 7300 for further information; or email [email protected]... 1. A maximum of 2 visits each day, within the set visiting times of 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. 2. Each visit limited to a maximum of one hour. 3. Visits can be either by one person or up to two persons from the same household Note: That this means that they must reside/live together in the same house Note also: There can be no more than three people in the resident room at the same time, (this includes the resident). This is due to the density quotient. 4. Children Under 16 are now able to visit. 5. VISITING HOURS REMAIN BETWEEN 10AM AND 4PM each day. If staying an hour, please arrive prior to 3.00pm. 6. Requests outside of these times should be made by contacting Reception 5461 7387 between 9am and 4pm each day. Requests will then be referred to the Director of Care for her attention. Requests should be made at least 48 hours in advance to provide time for a response to the request. 7. Visitors must visit with one resident within their room or within the external grounds of the facility. 8. As a normal practice visitors cannot visit with any other residents. Where the same person is the main contact person for more than one resident reception should be advised so that these special visiting needs can be accommodated. 9. Social distancing is important and MUST be maintained to a range of 1.5 metres (5 foot). 10. All visitors are required to wear facemask, gloves and Harald Card for the entirety of each visit. These will be supplied each time visitors check in. Harkness Street site, visitors please attend at the main Reception desk for screening; Heath House Visitors please come first to the main reception prior to proceeding to Heath House for your visit. Raglan House, visitors please attend at Reception, situated in the High School Centre for screening. Visitors should enter from Palmerston Street entrance to the School Building to reception. Once screening is complete visitors will be issued with a card and will be able to proceed to and enter the appropriate unit for your visit. We will keep you informed and support the contact between residents and families if this occurs. There will always be special provisions for palliative care and other compassionate reasons. RESTRICTED AREAS. We continue to ask that people from restricted areas do not visit. Restricted areas are currently those covering Metro Melbourne People living within the restricted area can arrange a telephone or Skype call by contacting lifestyle staff or reception. If people believe their visit is essential and cannot be supported via electronic means with the assistance of our staff, please make contact with Reception as above Visitors from restricted areas will be required to wear full PPE



18.01.2022 What a way to start the Christmas festivities at Harkness St. The annual BBQ was held at lunch time today, the residents were able to invite 3 guests to enjoy BBQ meat, salads and an array of delicious desserts. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves with many favorable comments to our kitchen, leisure and lifestyle staff, carers and administration staff for enabling such an event to be organised within the guidelines of Covid restrictions.

18.01.2022 Today our residents at Raglan house enjoyed another virtual trip having fish n’ chips by the beach. All enjoyed a social distancing chat and reminiscing about family holidays at the beach, towing caravans with young families and chasing the warmer weather in their later years. Greg’s famous house battered fish was very well received and a few beverages to wash it down. Our next virtual trip is to China with everyone looking forward to it.

18.01.2022 On Australia Day at Raglan house our Residents enjoyed an Australia Day luncheon with a delicious menu of Roast Lamb and Veg or Prawn salad, lamingtons and fruit salad with Ice cream. Everyone joined in the spirit of the day donning headwear and having fun with chanting Aussie Aussie Aussie oi oi oi. Lots of smiles and happy faces were on show

17.01.2022 Monday 26th October saw our residents excited to start enjoying communal dining in the new extended dining room observing social distancing. After 8 months of meals delivered rooms it was a very welcome step towards normality. Each week brings us closer to the gradual easing restrictions that have been in place due to COVID19. So lovely to see all the smiles and the sound of all the different conversations, the room was buzzing with enjoyment. One resident said she was so happy to be back into the dining room she could cry.

16.01.2022 This afternoon our residents at Raglan house thoroughly enjoyed a vintage tea room inspired afternoon tea with displays of vintage China teapots and fine embroidered linens from Kim’s private collection adorning the tables. We also incorporated an afternoon of gratitude with our gratitude tree making a comeback. During these trying times and much negativity in the news, it was lovely to see everyone joining in and adding their heart to our tree, written with something they ...were thankful or grateful for. Some very heartfelt sentiments and so lovely to see our residents engaging in such a positive and enjoyable atmosphere. 14.01.2022 This afternoon our Raglan House residents enjoyed an afternoon in Paris our next stop on our virtual world tour. All enjoyed sitting down and enjoying a lovely La Parisienne inspired afternoon tea complete with French champagne and French baked delights from Parkview bakery. Residents took home keepsakes of lavender bags and a bookmark and lucky prizes for a person who had visited France and one for someone who could speak French with Olwyn and Una taking home the prizes. Residents are really enjoying our virtual travel adventures and are already trying to guess their next stop. Au revoir !

14.01.2022 Our Raglan house residents celebrated Christmas Day with some going home with family or having family and friends join them for a traditional Christmas lunch. Some dined in the dining room and others were placed in groups throughout the facility observing social distancing policies. It was so lovely that restrictions had eased leading up to Christmas that we could still host this day for our residents.

13.01.2022 Today, Raglan House residents were treated to a delicious afternoon tea supplied by the Dunolly Bakery. Neenish tarts, bee stings, eclairs, apple cakes, slices to name a few were on offer. Thank you to Rochelle who stepped up to fill the shoes of Kim who is on leave (well done Rochelle), not an easy task.

13.01.2022 Today at morning tea time we had fun with a few residents happy to give a lesson demonstrating how you DO and DONUT wear face masks and enjoying some yummy fresh cinnamon donuts for morning tea. Lots of smiles and laughter about this morning which is always good for the soul even a bright coloured fun serviette made the day for a few people. 13.01.2022 Resident's at Raglan were spoilt yesterday with the delicious menu offered for their Hawaiian luncheon. Rochelle again had the task of filling Kim's shoes which she filled very well. You can have a rest now until next time.

13.01.2022 What a wonderful day we’ve had bringing in 2021. Starting our day off with a special New Year’s Day morning tea, followed by everyone’s favourite, chef Greg’s special fish n’ chips. Bingo with double the money for those that enjoy followed by a screening of the Edinburgh Military Tattoo in our Theatre area and a cuppa with shortbread biscuits and fruit. 12.01.2022 Another fun filled lunch time with our Halloween luncheon at Raglan house. Residents enjoying a spooky dining experience amongst the pumpkins, bats and spiders and everyone got a real laugh out of our caged parrot (he looks a little sick doesn’t he) but we can guarantee he’s full of chatter and noise. A few witches made an appearance and all enjoyed the delicious Halloween cupcakes as a treat afterwards. No trick or treating this year which is a shame so hopefully next year our residents can enjoy seeing all the children dressed up in their trick or treat outfits. Happy Halloween to all

12.01.2022 Friday nights perfect weather saw us welcoming our retirement community at Havilah on Palmerston back for social nights. Those that attended enjoyed a lovely bbq dinner and afterwards sat in the courtyard in the comfy armchairs to watch our movies under the stars screening of Mumma Mia here we go again. Residents enjoyed movie snacks of feshly popped pop corn, lemonade stand and choc top ice creams for that perfect movie going experience. A wonderful night was had and we were so lucky with the weather being very kind to us with a balmy 31 degrees. 10.01.2022 The residents enjoyed a quiet cuppa and delicious cakes for Special Morning Tea at Harkness Street campus today. Everyone was all smiles, chatty and having a laugh with one another. Tuesday mornings are always looked forward to by the residents.

10.01.2022 The residents got into the groove of the fifties rock 'n' roll, enjoying the music, tapping their feet to the rhythm and a couple joined leisure and lifestyle for a bit of a jive. Everyone was impressed with the juke box, smell of popcorn and enjoyed the ice cold milkshakes. What a time was had by all, bringing back memories attending the cafes, dance halls and drive-ins.

10.01.2022 The residents at Harkness street enjoyed their lunch of fish’n’chips by the sea last Friday 14/08. The tables were decorated with shells, fish, star fish and for the keen fisherman the rods and nets. Everyone who attended thought it was fantastic, eating their meal out of the box, wrapped in copies of printed newspapers. Great times are had by all who attend and they look forward to the next amazing virtual day.

10.01.2022 Melbourne Cup, (the day the nation stands still for a horse race) was well received by residents at Harkness Street, all enjoying a delicious lunch in the dining rooms adorned with beautiful table decorations of roses that were in full bloom. Residents were very interested in the main race, sitting in front of TV’s to watch and urge on their horse they had picked in the sweeps. Everyone was in appreciation of the efforts that went into today celebrations, from the kitchen, leisure and lifestyle and care staff. A great day was had, looking forward to next years event when the crowds can gather at Flemington once again.

09.01.2022 An afternoon tea of pure indulgence was had by residents at Harkness St who attended this afternoons Tea Party. Various areas had decorated tables for residents to enjoy each others company over a hot drink and various delectable delights which included passionfruit sponge, strawberry shortcake, jelly cakes, scones topped with jam and cream, caramel, jelly and lemon slice, custard filled profiteroles and macaroons. The special weekly events are welcomed and looked forward to by all residents who attend on a regular basis.

09.01.2022 Today, resident's at Harkness St enjoyed the picnic BBQ camping style virtual outing. Campfires for toasting marshmallows and billy tea, the Correa/Grevillea residents had the camping experience. The main dining rooms ambience was a great Aussie BBQ and picnic setting. All residents enjoyed today's theme. Thank you to all involved to make another successful virtual outing for the resident's

08.01.2022 An Oriental theme was held for today's virtual luncheon. A fantastic Chinese meal was supplied by Jack and staff at the 'Peach Village Restaurant' and served to all residents at Harkness St. Harkness Leisure and Lifestyle staff once again decorated all areas with oriental ambience. Many complimentary remarks were made by both residents and staff. The virtual outings are always welcomed by residents with great delight.

07.01.2022 This afternoon our little cooking group made some hot fruity buns not be mistaken for hot cross buns that we decided to call Hot Raglan House buns that went down an absolute treat with a cuppa for afternoon tea. They sure smelt good with a few people wandering down following the delicious smell coming from our kitchenette, luckily we had enough to share. 06.01.2022 Oaks Day celebrations were held at Harkness St, a finish to the Spring Racing Carnival calendar. Residents enjoyed themselves with a lovely lunch and the company of each other. Lucky prizes were given for various activities during lunch. The fashions on the dining room floor were presented by a not so glamorous carer. Everyone had a great laugh at the carer's expense. A fabulous time was had by all residents the Cup Week

06.01.2022 Harkness Street residents enjoyed the lovely spring day and had a virtual lunch time picnic. Everyone commented that it was another novel idea with the local Subway store supplying scrumptious rolls and wraps for the main meal which was followed by the good old chocolate ice-cream and for later a subway biscuit. The Leisure and Lifestyle staff made the dining areas into picnic grounds with tables set with picnic rugs, baskets and thermos’s of different ages, another great talking point of the many adventures residents encountered as a child themselves or with their own children growing up.

06.01.2022 What an atmosphere through Harkness Street for the Halloween Lunch. All residents who attended were greeted with many creepy, crawly surprises hanging around or on their tables. With restrictions lifting a little, allowing residents to have their lunch in the dining rooms since last Monday, everyone has enjoyed the company and with the special days makes it even more enticing to attend the dining room. Another great day had by all and a big thank you to everyone involved to make these memories for our residents.

At Raglan house this morning we held a New Years day special morning tea complete with countdown and our own version of fireworks (large party poppers) that everyone enjoyed immensely with it going off with a bang and lots and lots of glitter and streamers. 05.01.2022 Special Bulletin Update

05.01.2022 Another fantastic afternoon tea was had by the residents at Harkness St today. Delicious cakes, slices, Beetstings and my favourite Neenish Tarts to name a few all supplied by the Dunolly Bakery. Residents enjoyed the display of vintage electric mixers and other vintage kitchen utensils which created a talking point amongst the ladies in particular. All items on display were from a staff members collection of old wares. The afternoon tea was a great success (as usual) and once again the tables are a credit to the Leisure and Lifestyle staff.

04.01.2022 This morning at the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month we gathered at Raglan house for a special service to remember those who have served and died in wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations. Our service today was personal to our Raglan house residents with photos of residents loved ones and those residents who served. Our display has been 12 months work in progress, with residents from the Havilah on Palmerston community as a whole busy knitting and... crocheting over 500 poppies that have been made into panels, wreath, badges and table decoration. Returned serviceman Ken McKenzie proudly recited the ode for our service. A reading of the poem Flanders Fields and the Last Post played with a minutes silence observed. We thank CEO Barb Duffin for attending our service. A donation will also be made to our local RSL sub branch on behalf our residents. 03.01.2022 We had a fabulous day celebrating St Patrick’s day today. Residents enjoyed joining in the fun with green drinks and a Guinness for those who liked a traditional Irish stout. A delicious lunch was on offer by our catering staff that went down a treat. A great day was had by all to be sure, to be sure

02.01.2022 Today at Raglan house our next stop on our virtual world tour was China. Our residents thoroughly enjoyed a delicious meal from our amazing local Chinese restaurant Peach Village with offerings of Chinese beer for those inclined and a selection of other beverages and a takeaway box of prawn crackers to take home. Residents all admired the lovely decorated tables especially the fresh sprays of blossom and a few tried their hand at using the chopsticks also. 02.01.2022 What a perfect day it was for our annual family and friends Christmas bbq for Raglan house residents and their guests. The courtyard was the ideal setting for our smaller gathering this year with our ILU community having their get together on a different day. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the lunch with a delicious selection of BBQ meats, salads and of course dessert. It’s so wonderful to see our residents enjoying time with their loved ones
