09.01.2022 New Year Camping Adventure The open road, fresh air & swimming in freshwater creeks. Howled at some big, strange looking, smelly, vegetarian dogs ()and even helped out with some wildlife rescue. Also scored a double breakfast this morning Saskia was preoccupied watching the smelly vegetarian dogs so I hoovered her breaky when she wasn’t looking Pretty tired now so I am looking forward to getting home for a warm bath, a blow dry and a good nights rest. ... H

07.01.2022 SHORT TERM CARER FOUND URGENT FOSTER CARER NEEDED Oakley is a 2 year old Male Siberian Husky... He is currently in a country pound and needs rescue to save him. We can’t put a save on him until we can secure a foster carer for him. He needs to come down on transport to Melbourne on Thursday 27th June. Great with other dogs and kids. He hasn’t had any vetwork - this will be completed once in our care. Hasn’t been around cats Has previously been an inside dog 6ft dig proof fencing required Please complete a foster application if you can help. 05.01.2022 To all of our friends, it is with a heavy heart I tell you that on the 14th of August at 9:24pm our beautiful boy Hawkeye crossed the rainbow bridge. He peacefully slipped away with me by his side. I want to thank all who supported Hawk over the years especially Kim Lane , Bec Lill , @marnie Gray- Tuapawa , Elise Pike , Nicole Robinson & Yancy Smith. Without your love & dedication I may never have crossed paths with this incredible being I also want to thank Hawkeye, at on...e point I thought I was rescuing you, turns out you rescued me. You taught me such incredible life lessons & you will be forever in my heart. What a remarkable journey, one I would embark upon again in a heartbeat. R.I.P beautiful Hawkeye

01.01.2022 URGENT CALL OUT! Friends of the Hound urgently needs foster carers to continue our greyhound rescue efforts. Our waiting lists are long and ever-increasing, and... we rely on soley on foster carers for our adoption program. We are now at breaking point. Foster carers provide a temporary home for dogs transitioning from kennelled race dogs to indoor family companions. We need dog-savvy foster carers who have a suitable environment, time, & ability to provide guidance & care to our rescue hounds. If you have a dog-friendly home with secure yard, no cats, preferably no babies/toddlers, are not away from home for long hours, & can transport a foster Greyhound to vet appointments or promos, please consider helping a Greyhound become a pet. New greyhounds will go to our assessment team first and then to foster homes to prepare them for their future homes. We need foster homes in Brisbane, Gold Coast/North Coast NSW, Sunshine Coast, Hunter Region and Canberra. Apply now to arrange a home visit by one of our lovely representatives who can assess your situation & chat to you about the fostering process. Foster caring can be a great experience. Watching a dog blossom and their personality emerge is very rewarding.
